Home Again

I don't know if anyone noticed but I've not been posting for a week as I've been to Cyprus for a holiday. The sea was a lovely blue and turquoise.

Spot the cat?
There were a lot of feral cats over there, I'm not sure if this one was as it looked a bit fatter than the others, but I don't think it was for sale.

Mermaid and Fish Collage

The top half of the mermaid was a found image from a magazine, the fish I made from papers, then coloured and decorated.  For the remainder - background, mermaids tail I used aquamarkers [and water], posca pens, metallic posca pens.

Which Reef?

There is a design contest coming up on Spoonflower for a fabric design on the Great Barrier Reef. I've done two possibilities but which one shall I enter, the more realistic one or the doodley one, although they are both quite busy.
What do you think? Click on image to enlarge.

Marsden Rocks

My daughter was visiting today and so we had a little trip to Marsden Rocks near South Shields. The weather was gorgeous and the sea looked very blue, unusually as it most often looks grey.
This sea stack used to be a lot bigger, there used to be an arch joining another stack. It partly collapsed in 1996 and the rest was demolished as it was classed as unsafe.

This sea stack is called Lot's Wife.

We spotted this isopod on the beach, I think it may be a eurydice pulchra
[the internet is a wonderful thing]
