Tree at Belsay Hall

Photo taken last October in the grounds of Belsay Hall. I could remember taking a photo of this tree many years before so I looked through my archives and found the photo below, also taken at Belsay in 2006. It looks similar but the one above has more and thinner branches. The tree is next to the same fence though and has a cliff type background. Perhaps there are two similar trees there.

Sketchbook 47 [pages 69 -81]

I cut out fun foam on my Zing machine to make stamps, the birds are stamps as well as the hare and rabbit below. I've added additional details with a pen.

Art Everyday for a Month Book

While I was doing the last word prompt drawing book I remembered that I started something similar a while ago. It turns out it was in 2012...and I've just finished it recently.
The covers were made from plastic cardboard with washi tape over the edges - I did find that this started to peel off in places. I cut all the prompt words from magazines and stuck them in the book before I started. I did post four of the drawings in 2012 so if you think any are familiar you know why.

Badger Picture

The badger picture is finished. He's at the entrance of his set, a hole in a large tree surrounded by all kinds of flowers and vegetation. I first drew this badger in a sketchbook for the 'sketchbook project' which is now at the Brooklyn Art Library, USA.
I used inktense pencils to colour with, you can add water to make into ink but I decided to leave them dry. I used a second coat on top of the first to add a bit more colour. The picture was drawn onto canvas fabric and after giving it a couple of coats of fixative I wrapped it around a ready made canvas frame. Size 20"x 16"

Handmade Gifts

These are the handmade gifts I received from my 'arty' friends.

A tree from Marian with ribbon wrapped around the base.

A bagful [handmade of course] of goodies - clay decorations, felt house, decorated jar, pebble.

A doll from Gillian.

I love her curly hair.

A bauble picture from Vicky. It was difficult to get a good picture of this because of the glass reflection.
I've got some talented friends, haven't I?
