Doodles to Design

Two doodles created on my android tablet. Then combined on the PC and made into a repeating pattern for fabric or wrap.

Wolf

I used one of my older paintings to make a repeat pattern for fabric or paper.

I'll put it on Spoonflower one day.

Catch Up Friday 24 09 21

 Digital Art

I did the first doodle on my tablet, then transferred to the computer to make it into a repeating pattern.
I then used Neural Filters in Photoshop to get the finishes below.

Fabric Design
This was an entry for a Spoonflower contest. We had to do something with these three particular colours.

Fabrics and Altered Book

I ordered some new swatches of my designs from Spoonflower while the special offer was on.

I don't know where my brain was on the day I ordered but I ordered the mice design twice [one should have been pigs] and also I ordered a fat quarter instead of a swatch. Doh!

Anyway here they are

Altered Pissarro Book
I did a few more pages in the art book of Pissarro

Watercolour, Acylic and Digital

 Doodlewash - Watercolour

Acrylic Painting

i thought I would have another go with acrylics for a change. I did a landscape from an art book trying to copy in a loose sort of way but I didn't like it. Next I watched a utube video with Angela Anderson painting an owl which I had a go at. I like how it turned out.

Fabric Design - Digital

I entered a Spoonflower contest entitled Rococo last week with this. I should have posted earlier then you could have voted for it LOL. I used colours that were used in original Rococo design.

Paint Party Friday is continuing for another year so join in the fun here

Watercolours, Sewing and Fabric Design

 Doodlewash Watercolour Challenge

Wooden Toy

Hands and Gloves - I'm not very good at drawing hands so I thought I would do a silly drawing instead.

Sewing
I made a baby dress and bib for my new granddaughter due next month, this should fit when she is about 3 months.

The fabric is purchased, not my design.
I also made a summer dress for my other granddaughter who will be two in May.
I found this pattern on Pinterest.

Spoonflower
I've been working on a design for a Spoonflower contest, the theme is hand drawn florals. Use of earth tones and florals from native [backyard] botanicals are suggested. Also think of the end product as blouse fabric - this I forgot about plus the backyard bit so I'm not sure either of these will be suitable. Can you imagine either of these as blouse material?

Patchwork Fabric Design and Watercolour Sketches

Next week there is a Spoonflower contest entitled Patchwork. I've got two possible designs I could enter but you can only enter one so I have to choose which. I spent a long time creating fabrics for the lower of the two and 'patching' them. Then I thought I could use one of my embroidered crazy patches as a design which I did by mirroring etc. That one came about quite quickly [although the original patch didn't].
So which one? Click on the image for a better view.

Topsy Turvy Doll
I've been wanting to make one of these dolls for a while. I was going to make my own pattern but then I saw some on Etsy and decided to buy one. I'm not that good at following patterns so I had problems all the way. Having said that the instructions were not that good, quite confusing at times. She has an unusual shaped head for a rag doll and together with my cutting out, stitching and stuffing the shape was even more unusual. I also decided to paint on her features instead of embroidery. This didn't go well and one head ended up really messy so I decided to make her into Cinders and have a patchy and grubby dress. She looked a lot better after her hair was put on but her features could be better. She was supposed to have a smart dress one side and housecoat on the other, I made the housecoat into the patchy dress with added 'dirt'. It was really hard sewing puff sleeves into the dress. I used fabrics and wool I'd already got. How do people sew really small fiddly things? I may make another tospy turvy doll in the future but I don't think I'll be using this pattern even though I quite like her now.

I've entered a design contest at Spoonflower this week, yellow and gray challenge. Anyone can vote for their favourites by visiting the Spoonflower site.
