Bibs, Doodlewash and Elliot's Page

Day 19 -Music

Day 20 - Leaves [watercolour markers]

Day 22 - Kitten

I won't be posting for a while so I included a few of the prompts on the one picture.
Day 21 - Ocean, Day 23 - Tea, Day 24 - Mushrooms, Day 25 - Swan,
Day 26- Dahlia, Day 27 - Goldfish, Day 28 - Beach, Day 29 - Rabbit

I've also made a couple of bibs from vintage fabric scraps, the blue fabric is the oldest.

I love this page my Grandson did as part of a book for me. The idea that the cake has legs so that it can walk all the way to your tummy cracks me up.

Enjoy your week!

Mr Men Play Mat and Bib

A play mat I made out of vintage Mr Men fabric for my first grandson due in December. My daughter loved this fabric when she was little and it will be her son that the play mat is for.
I stitched handles on each side so that toys could be scooped up when lifting.
My intention was to do a lot more quilting but the wadding was very thick and it was a struggle to stitch and to be honest I didn't have the patience.
There was a bit of fabric left over so I made a bib with Mr Greedy in prime place.

Bibs and Burp Cloths

Two more bibs, these are slightly different to the others as they fasten at the side. I used vintage fabrics for them both.

Ten Baby Bibs

I've used vintage fabrics on six of them, some very old.....I had a dress made with one of the fabrics when I was a child......and that is a long time ago.
I used a bib pattern by nana company.

Crazy Patchwork Apron 2

Another crazy patchwork apron made from vintage scraps. This time I stitched the pieces onto a used white apron which was probably a mistake as the apron shape is not perfect and there were extra problems with the straps already being fixed. Still it's done even if it is wonky in places.

Tissue Pouches

I made quite a few tissue pouches for gifts, these are a few of them. They hold the handy size handbag packets of tissues. I used vintage fabrics for them, some more vintage than others. If you want to make some there are lots of tutorials on Pinterest.

I think the oldest fabric is the light blue floral, I had a dress made of the same fabric when I was a little girl.

Crazy Patchwork Bag - Green 2

If you've been following my blog you may think you saw this a few days ago but it is a different bag. I used similar fabrics but patched in a different way and with different embroidery stitches.

Fat Book Pages - 4

A flower from a lace curtain, dyed and beaded.

Layers - dyed net curtain, a rectangle of screen curtain, a crazy patchwork ATC, embroidery. Stitched over with decorative machine stitching.

Dyed lace and broderie anglaise, handmade paper, embroidery, red fabric, tweed fabric scraps.

Vintage tablecloth, lace fabric, lace edging, beads, stitching. [It looks better in real life]

Dyed laces, a fabric photo print [my grandparents wedding day], vintage cloth covered buttons, fabric postcard [this postcard and paper fabric is available from my Spoonflower shop], embroidered and beaded braid.

Woven fabric strips [cut from my Spoonflower swatch edges]. The background fabric was also from there too.

Crazy Patchwork Peg Bags

I've been using more of my vintage scraps to make peg bags. These have long handles so that they can be hung from a shoulder while hanging out the washing.

I made a new one for myself as my old one looked worse for wear and I've made one for each of my sisters. My old one was about the same size but had the long length the other way round, ie narrower but longer. I decided to these a little different so it would be easier to find a particular peg.

I've lined the two for my sisters with patterned fabric [mine is just plain]
