The Hares

  The Hares

I used the Hendricks Scrappy Hare pattern available from Etsy.

Number one made from patches of scrap fabrics embroidered around the edges

The photos above were taken pre whiskers

Hare number two, using a red theme, various scraps attached with embroidery thread. I used plaited threads for his whiskers

Hare number three was made using old jeans and a piece of tie dye fabric with added embroidery.

Hare number four - I used an old embroidered linen cushion and some linen chair backs. Do you remember chair backs from the 50's? The fabric had the pattern printed on with lines for you to embroider over. I embroidered some and left other parts with just the print.

I'm linking to Friday Face Off.

Thanks for visiting and Happy New Year.

Patchwork Sewing

I've finished two more patchwork bags. I stitched the patches together by hand but made the bag up by machine together and adding a lining.

Digital Patterns

Designs created on the tablet then made into repeating patterns.

Patchwork Fabric Design and Watercolour Sketches

Next week there is a Spoonflower contest entitled Patchwork. I've got two possible designs I could enter but you can only enter one so I have to choose which. I spent a long time creating fabrics for the lower of the two and 'patching' them. Then I thought I could use one of my embroidered crazy patches as a design which I did by mirroring etc. That one came about quite quickly [although the original patch didn't].
So which one? Click on the image for a better view.

Watercolour Sketches, Snowman Sculpture and Patchwork Bag

Doodlewash
Peppermint, Ribbon, Cookies

Snowman

I based the above painting on this snowman I made with Sculpturemold Modeling Compound. I made his hat from cardboard which I covered in paper. The snowman was painted with gesso and acrylics for the nose, the hat with acrylics. I used pins for the mouth and buttons, google eyes and a piece of scrap fabric for the scarf. I forgot to give him arms.

And I have another patchwork bag made from scraps. The patchwork was all hand stitched but the bag was put together including a lining with the aid of a sewing machine.
