Patchwork Sewing

I've finished two more patchwork bags. I stitched the patches together by hand but made the bag up by machine together and adding a lining.

Digital Patterns

Designs created on the tablet then made into repeating patterns.

Hexie Bag and Gelli Prints

First of all I finished the second hexie bag. All the hexagonal patches were stitched by hand, some not very neatly unfortunately. The first bag can be seen here.

I've also been doing some Gelli prints with my new acrylic paints.

I quite like this one but I thought I would go over it anyway.

I liked the colours on this but went over it with more prints until it turned out like this. You cannot see the first layer very well now.

I also did some prints directly into a flower book

This were not as successful I think

English Paper Piecing, Watercolours and Digital Art

Watercolours on watercolour paper. I tried to copy something out of a book for this one.

WIP - English Paper Piecing Patchwork
I've sewn another batch of hexies together to make another bag. I'm doing this one a bit different in that I have joined all the hexies together to make a hoop so they will be no plain fabric at the sides. I'm making it up as I go along, so we'll have to see if it works. I've used a range of scraps from vintage, [I think the oldest maybe over 50 years] and up to date fabrics.

I was trying to do a picture with reflections.

Patchwork Bag, Watercolour Paintings and Card

Remember the pile of hexies I made? Well I've put them to good use and made a bag. I made it up as I went along so it's not perfect. By the way when I originally showed the hexies I said I made them on an evening while watching TV, I didn't mean one evening but many evenings.

I've been practicing more serious watercolours by copying from a book.
These were painted on loose pieces of watercolour paper. I'm not so keen on the flower.

It's my son's and his wife third wedding anniversary and as I couldn't go out to the shops I made them a card. The third anniversary is leather so I cut two hearts from leather. I used the brown card as that is what was used for their wedding invitations and I thought it would be a nice memory.

English Paper Piecing and Doodlewash

On an evening I've been making hexies while 'watching' TV from scraps of fabric left from projects. I've used a mixture of vintage fabrics and more modern fabric if the scrap has been big enough.

I'm trying to put all the drawings together on one A3 page.
