White Rhino

I managed to do some new artwork, yeah.

I thought I would continue in my book of endangered species.

White Rhino of Africa. There are two genetically different sub species - Northern and Southern.
As of March 2018 there are only two rhinos of the Northern [Kenya] species left and both are female.

I used pen, watercolours and oil pastels on watercolour paper.

A Flowery Sketchbook Page

Drawn with pen in an A3 cartridge paper sketchbook then painted with watercolours. Some of the watercolours were Twinkling H20's which are iridescent watercolours although the sheen doesn't really show up on these photographs.

Pangolin

I've sent this postcard to the TAE19 call for artists to help raise funds for art in healthcare.
[Funds raised by TAE19 will enable Art in Healthcare to develop and extend their workshop programme to benefit more people within the healthcare system. All Art In Healthcare’s workshops bring the power of creativity to people in times of need whether in a hospital, care home, community health centre, hospice or any other health care setting. http://twitterartexhibit.org/call-for-artists/] Submission deadlines are not until the 29th April so you could send a postcard too if you liked.

I chose to draw a pangolin because they are the most traffiked mammals in the world. I'd recently seen a TV program about them which I found fascinating.

My first attempt to draw one was on the computer, which I then digitally painted.

I wanted something a little different so did an ink drawing of it and painted it with bright watercolours. I liked this version but I thought the painting was very messy. I'd used bristol board which is good for drawing on but not so good for painting. So I drew another one and made patterns in ink as shown at the top of the page.

SF Design A Day 13 -15

Day 15 - Designer's Choice - the prompt Sf has picked for the final is watercolor.
This design includes pen drawing, stamping and watercolor. Below you can see it as a repeating design and I'll enter this one into the competition.

I had another go at day 12, typographical. I used the canvas I posted about recently.

Day 13 - Kawaii [cute]

Day 14 - Found Object - I used some green chicken type wire. I created the background on my tablet.

Sketchbook challenge and more

This is a collage I did for the Sketchbook challenge - Cabinet of curiosities. For the background I used watercolours and all the images were found in magazines.

I was going to add to this watercolour but I think I will use it as a background on a future digital arrangement.
The background is watercolour and wax crayon. The butterfly was drawn with a pen and coloured with promarkers, then collaged onto the background.

Crowns with umbrellas

These two are not my best efforts.
The head was a found image of a planet and I used water soluble crayons for the quickly sketched face below.

Faces, Lollypop Lady, Pendant and Brooch

Painted faces - their hats are found images, a crown, a plant pot, a vase and a kitchen pot.

This lollypop lady is made from an image of a real ice lollypop

I can't remember who these are 'supposed' to be! Does anybody recognize anyone?
