Illustration Course and Doodlewash

 Doodlewash

C is for Caboose

D is for Dachshund

E is for Ear [on a fennec fox]

That is it for January Doodlewash

I signed up for an online illustration course this month.

The first practical exercise was to imagine oneself as an animal. I'd like to be a tiger but it's not really me so I decided on rabbit. I am wearing a dress from the 50's as that is the decade I was born and the duck legs were just for fun.

The second exercise was about cinema and choosing a film one liked. Well I've seen a lot of films I like but I'm not very good at remembering what they are called or what happens in them either. So I chose ET because I could remember that one. It turns out I didn't need to draw anything for that exercise, I must read things properly in future.

The third exercise was to visit a flea market, well they are few and far between. I used a photo from a trip to Valencia. I had to pick a couple of elements from the photo and create a new scene. I used the lobster? claws as baby creatures in a nest of ice. The photo is below the art work so you can see where I got my inspiration.

Quick Tablet Sketches

When my daughter was visiting the other week we had a drawing contest using our tablets. Someone suggested a title, ie clown in a canon, haunted house, fish on a bike and a flying monkey and we quickly drew our sketches. We both came up with completely different ideas of course.

Vegetable Drawing

My plan was to post a photo of the new TAST stitch which I have done but I didn't notice that my camera wasn't set right and the picture looked bad. So here is a drawing of vegetables to be going on with.
