White Rhino in Ink

This white rhino was drawn with a bamboo pen and ink.

There are two genetically different subspecies of white rhino - Northern and Southern. As of March 2018 there are only two Northern white rhinos left, both of them female. [Kenya]. The last males died in 2018 but sperm was collected to fertilize eggs. Of the two females left, one has been retired from the breeding program due to age and health.

White Rhino

I managed to do some new artwork, yeah.

I thought I would continue in my book of endangered species.

White Rhino of Africa. There are two genetically different sub species - Northern and Southern.
As of March 2018 there are only two rhinos of the Northern [Kenya] species left and both are female.

I used pen, watercolours and oil pastels on watercolour paper.

Cushions, George and Rhino's

A couple of cushions I made for my daughter who likes designs from the 40's, 50's and 60's including those of Lucienne Day.  I designed these after looking closely at her work and had the fabric printed at Spoonflower. [this fabric is not for sale]

This is George. He was printed on our 3D printer and painted by my talented brother Martin who has the real dog called George. I think I shall have to get Martin to paint all our 3D prints as he made such a good job of it. My 3D painting always looks very crude.

Nail Buffer Stamp and Collages

Have you ever used nail buffers like the one above with the red background - don't throw them away when they are worn out - they can be used for mark making stamps. And four usable sides means four different patterns.  I used a 'dead' pen to score a pattern with, a craft knife to cut a pattern and make lines, and an awl for the dotty one.
