Handmade Sketchbook - Pages 8-15

I used one of my round cutouts as a stencil.

The rabbit cut out is not my design. I filled the spaces with Glossy Accents.

The trouble with painting on envelopes is that the paint bleeds thru.

I used the cut out from a greetings card as a stencil for this tree.
Handmade sketchbook.
Mixed media.
Painted, stamped, art work and inkjet prints of art work. Drawings. Cut work. Stencils.
Reused envelopes, book pages, recycled greetings cards, waste from cutting machine, sequins
Glossy Accents [Inkssentials]

Three Mice

I used the inside of a used envelope for the mice, if you look closely you will see the pattern is of winged lions.

Three pages from my sketchbook

Brusho inks. The strips of striped paper - this was paper I used to protect the next page in my sketchbook for quite a few pages, hence all the colours. The flowers are real.

Brusho and a small doyley.

Envelopes made from recycled envelopes, the envelopes have envelopes as decoration.
These are the last pages of book 36.

Mediterranean Bells

The flowers are called Nectaroscordum Siculum (clever eh? remembering that! actually I can't even say it never mind remember it) or Mediterranean Bells although the colours are not really quite as bright as that on the real flowers. If you look closely at the scraps of collaged paper you will notice the pattern is made up of tiny little envelopes, this is the inside of a recycled envelope.
I also used Brusho inks, liner pen, labels and inktense pencils.

Paper Mache Fox, SC3

We had a play day with paper mache at a friends house a couple of weeks ago.
My creation started as a fox, I'm not sure it looks much like one now.
I used recycled envelopes [insides] for the top coat and sequins with drawing pins for the eyes.
It needs putting on a board to straighten it out.

Button Book -part 5

On the background is some painted tissue-like paper over music [which doesn't show up very well], printed 'backwards' text, and an ATC. The ATC is painted vilene, hand embroidery and art buttons.

The background for this one is a recycled altered photo which didn't print very well, but I liked it anyway. Layered with dyed laces, hand embroidery and wooden buttons.

This one is layers of recycled envelopes, hand embroidery and art buttons.

This page was an acrylic painting on canvas paper. The yellow sun button is card stitched on with a decorative stitch.

Leaves and Honesty

The sketchbook challenge - Into the woods.
Background paper - oil pastels, wax crayons, metallic crayons, caran d'ache water soluble crayons, brusho inks.
Layered envelopes with real plants [painted] trapped under the envelope window, stitching.

I have some honesty plants in my garden and I thought this particular specimen looked more colourful than normal, the seed pods are tinged with pink.

Pamphlet Book Revisited [pages 1-12]

I have shown this handmade book before, when it was just made and undecorated. It was made from recycled envelopes, art work, printed papers and plain sheets. It is a pamphlet style of book and most of the pages are pockets. I have decorated found postcards and made some for the pockets.

To see the original post from April 2012 click here. It is the book with the blue/green cover.
