Wooden Heart

I bought a wooden heart which I altered for the happy couple. I used Golden coarse molding paste to make the raised letters with a card stencil I made. I used my Zing cutter to cut out the stencil. Then paint and a bit of roughing up.

Floral and Doodle

Two floral arrangements done on the tablet

and a doodle from a 'real' sketchbook. The white lettering was achieved by transferring letraset letters onto the page then removing them after painting, so they acted like a resist.

Mythical Mail - Jack & the bean stalk

A lot of the words are hidden behind the beanstalk which lifts up partly, but not so that I could scan properly so I have copied it:
The envelope is addressed to
Jack Bean, Pulse Farm, Pea Lane, Stalkton, Nutshire
and the letter is from Stalkton Council, Nutshire and reads
Dear Mr Bean
We have received complaints about the size of your beanstalk as it is obstructing the view. Are you aware that you need to obtain planning permission for a plant of these dimensions?
yours faithfully
Mr Builder, Planning Regulations Department

Mythical Mail - cover

I had a sketch book sitting on my shelf for quite a while as I wasn’t sure what to do with it. As the pages were brown paper, the kind you wrap parcels in, I eventually decided that the book would be good for a subject to do with mail. I had fairy tale characters in mind and made a start but soon got a bit ‘stuck’. Thanks to my friend Helen & her daughter we had a brainstorming day which got the old brain cells working and after that the ideas kept coming. The book was finished last year & I really enjoyed doing it.

All the postage stamps in the book are not my art work but are original ‘recycled’ stamps from around the world, which I have been collecting for years. Helen kindly donated some too from her stash. The extra post marks which were not already on the stamps were rubber stamps purchased from ‘Crafty Individuals’.
