Stencils, Clay and Gelli Prints

I designed these cut-outs to use as stencils. They were cut on a digital cutting machine then used with paints as shown below..

 Below are the bits left on the cutting mat, which also makes a nice pattern.

I went to a crafty workshop last Saturday and we made tags and tree decorations with air dry clay. We used cookie cutters for the shapes for the most part and stamps for marks.

My husband says that kids do that, he's right but we still had fun.

 We also did some Gelli printing using old magazines and gelli printing plates. It wasn't totally successful but I'm sure the prints could be used for further development although it was only inkjet paper so not that good as background paper.

All the cut designs were created on my tablet.

Fish, Pattern and Cut Work Birds

The vintage fish picture is from the Naturalist Library, the lady from a vintage book of women apart from her head which I drew.

The pattern was created on my tablet.

I created the birds for my cutting machine, [KNK Zing Air] the bird on the left needs altering slightly as the eye was not joined to anything so fell out. I also ripped it a little when removing form the mat.

This book is for my collection of paper cuts. These were mainly designed on my tablet, transferred to the computer, then brought into 'Make the Cut' as a pixel trace and then cut with my cutting machine. The machine is a KNK Zing Air. I've used a variety of papers and card.

This book is for my collection of paper cuts. These were mainly designed on my tablet, transferred to the computer, then brought into 'Make the Cut' as a pixel trace and then cut with my cutting machine. The machine is a KNK Zing Air. I've used a variety of papers, cards and fabric. 

You may have noticed that I've not been posting recently, well it is because I have my daughter and family staying with me until they move into their new home. My 13th month old Grandson is sleeping in my studio and has two naps a day so I'm not getting much chance to do work or use my computer which is in the studio. Mind you I am having fun playing with him and I think I will miss them being here. They will not be that far away when they do move which is great.

Most of the tags are my own work, a few are from the MTC software

Zing Cut Out's

The orange flower is a cut out, I used my Zing for cutting. I used the flower as a stencil first so it was painted too.

A heart cut out I used as a stencil. The bird is stamped, a fun foam stamp also cut with the Zing.

These were also cut with my Zing, I created them on a tablet with the Corel App. I'm not sure what to call them - doyley, [or doily], mandala, lacy circles?

Both the hare and the lacy circle were cut with the Zing. I used the same design as the stamped hare from yesterday.
