2276. Glass House on Ponus Ridge

Dear Christopher,

"This was a great breakthrough for me, to thumb my
nose at my mentor, Mies van der Rohe, and to say that
things should be warmer and toastier and sexier than
they are in modern, square-beamed architecture."
(Philip Jonhson)

1721. Kastrup Flyverbo

Dear Hans,

Flyverbo in Kastrup, a suburb of Copenhagen where
the main international airport of the country is located,
is a large residential building that Thomsen and
Kampmann designed and built for the DDL
(Danish Airline) workers between 1947 and 1949.

Dear Maggie,

"If teaching has any purpose, it is to implant true insight
and responsibility. Education must lead us from irresponsible opinion to true responsible judgement. It must lead us from chance and arbitrariness to rational clarity and intellectual order" (Mies van der Rohe)

Dear David,

"Architecture is invention. Under this prism is how
I do my projects; always searching for beautiful, expressive, different, and surprising solutions"

612. Brazzaville, La Place de la Poste. Inmueble de la Societe Generale

Dear Jane,

This exquisite building in Brazzaville recalls the shape and
layout of some of Le Corbusier's works like the Swiss
Pavilion in the University of Paris.

Cristina,

344. Charles and Ray in the living room of the Eames House 1975

Dear Tanu,

I was very lucky last week when I had a chance of
visiting The Eames House. As you know, this house
was built in 1949 by husband-and-wife design pioneers
Charles & Ray Eames, to serve as their home and
studio. Since then the house has became a strong
architectural statement while remaining an amazingly
comfortable and functional living space. The interior
including furnitures and all kind of objects remains very
much the same they were in the Eames' lifetimes. Now
the Eames House is the home of the Eames Foundation.

See you on Monday.

225. Torino. Il Salone Internazionale delle Tecnica al Palazzo delle Esposizioni al Valentino

Cristina,

goticas.

Besos.
