Dear Mel,

Regularity of structure, treatment of exterior as weightless
and use of color and structural detail in lieu of applied
ornament were main features of early modern buildings.
Here we see the use of color in the now mythical 1927
Weisenhofsiedlung.

Dear Hugo,

Yesterday I spent some hours visiting the site of the
Weissenhofsiedlung. I noticed there were a very few
people there so for me the day was quiet and the weather
just perfect. Fortunately I carried with me an old copy of
Henry Ford's autobiography and had time to read it all
when in there. Sitting near the big double "billboard" that
Corbu's houses were then, facing to the city down below,
I had my mind transported back to the hyperactivity of
this place in 1927.

Esta colonia construida en 1927 ya promulgaba que
en vez de casas para unos pocos o para los mejores,
lo que es necesario es casas para la comunidad, para todos.
Prefabricacion y construccion rapida y eficiente al
servicio del hombre. Desgraciadamene no hemos
avanzado mucho (casi nada) en este sentido desde entonces.
