after the wedding....

If you are a fan of Scandinavian film or at least of Mads Mikkelsen, you should give this film a watch. Danish films always feel so real. this is not a Dogme film, but it definitely has many aspects of one. it's lovely and and you are slowly drawn into the lives of it's characters. It was nominated for best foreign film at the Academy Awards a couple of years back, but didn't win. Sadly, it looks as though it may be adapted into an American version, along the lines of BROTHERS and OPEN HEARTS have/will be. Make sure you enjoy this version before that happens

For those of you who think I may be obsessed with young lads half my age, well you are pretty much correct, however, check out Mads, who I have loved for quite awhile now. He is looking ever so distinguished with his greying hair at the Clash of the Titans premiere in London.

My worlds are colliding.....

Ryan Gosling has been rumoured to star in a film called DRIVE, the story of a stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver by night. (this role was originally to go to Hugh Jackman). The director of this project is none other than Danish Nicolas Winding Refn, long time collaborator of the best Danish actor of all time, Mads Mikkelsen. If you like fairly hardcore films, and don't mind subtitles, the PUSHER series are extremely cool, directed by Refn, and starring Mads. (it probably seemed way cooler to me as i watched it in a cinema with Mads!!) So I look forward to this interesting collaboration and hope there may be a role for Mads in the film as well.

I just wanted to introduce you to Mads Mikkelsen.

You may need to know him, for if my blogging ceases abruptly and you hear I am in Denmark, well Mads is the reason!

One of Denmark's finest actors, not only does he shine in pieces such as OPEN HEARTS, tv series UNIT ONE and WILBUR WANTS TO KILL HIMSELF, but he occasionally crosses over to some mainstream Hollywood, for example CASINO ROYALE.
