Nicole as Grace

The first pic released from Nicole's new film - 'Grace of Monaco' 

Many critics have denounced the choice of Nicole for the role of Grace Kelly, declaring she doesn’t bear a resemblance to Grace but in this shot Nicole is clearly channelling some Princess of Monaco vibes.  I think she looks lovely but I am surprised at the choice of gown as Grace was strictly and pastels and white gloves kind a gal.

The film is not a biopic of the actress turned Princess of Monaco but will focus on her involvement behind the scenes in a tête-à-tête between her husband Prince Rainier III and President of France Charles de Gaulle over Monaco’s tax haven status during the early 1960s.  sounds interesting and it will be definitely worth seeing what Nicole does with the role.

Nicole's Not really Red!

 

I can not believe I have gone this long unaware of this astonishing fact.  I feel strangely cheated, duped even.  For decades Australians have embraced Nic as our favourite red head and it turns out she's a big fat faker.

Since I have fair skin, I have to stay out of the sun. I can't stand the sun. I dyed my hair red for a while during the 1990s but I'm actually a natural blonde. 

 Ever since Chase through the night, the directors made me dye my hair red, as they all thought it suited me at the time. Even for Dead Calm (1989), Phillip Noyce made me dye my hair red. Now the directors and studios just let me keep my natural blonde hair.

This made me wonder who else has been masquerading as a red head and wouldn't you know it Nicole is not the only one.  Some I was aware of  but others came as a complete shock.  Here are some of the minx's who have been stooging us....

 Christina Hendricks - she's been rocking fake hair colour since chilhood, I wonder if even she knows what her natural colour is now.

 Alyson Hannigan - can you believe it?  Naturally a chocolate brown, Alyson had me completely fooled.

 Laura Prepon - Also a brunette but was asked to dye her hair red by the producers of That 70's Show.  I definitely didn't see that one coming.

 The delightful Emma Stone - arguably this generation's most famous red head is in fact a blonde.  This I knew but it still amazes me.

Amy Adams - the screen darling couldn't make it past supporting actress until she changed her hair colour.  Now the world is her oyster.

 And in the biggest stooge of all time The Weasley twins are BRUNETTES!  That is just wrong.  Shattering news for those of us who still kind of believe the Weasley's are real and not fictional characters.

So there you have it.  A whole bunch of fake Rangas!

The Emmy nominations have been announced and it's a good day to be Nicole Kidman.   She received a nomination “ Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie ” Playing American Journalist Martha Gellhorn in “Hemingway & Gellhorn “ Which Was Nominated for 14 other nominations !

Love Is Grand

And just when we thought we couldn't love him anymore - Keith flew 36 hours to Cannes from Sydney to be by Nicole's side for her 'The Paperboy' premiere.   Awwwwww!
I think they are possibly the most openly affectionate couple on the red carpet these days too which is refreshing.

Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman have arrived in Cannes for their film 'The Paperboy'.  It looks like Zac has got rid of the moustache as we can see in these shots of he and Nicole on their way to a taping of a French TV Show.

Who Will Be Grace?

Nicole Kidman is in talks to play Grace Kelly in the upcoming Grace of Monaco movie to be directed by Olivier Dahan. At first I was rather bemused by the choice but I also could not have imagined the reed thin Michelle Williams playing the voluptuous Marilyn Monroe so you never know.  She definitely can do the ice queen to perfection so I say let's give her a go.

Who would be your choice to play the late princess?  I thought January Jones could work, or maybe even Gwyneth Paltrow?

One of the most beautiful women in Hollywood, I think, is Dianna Agron - she would make a beautiful young Grace.

Whoever they chose I'm sure it will make for a fascinating film as Grace Kelly's story is absolutely made for the big screen - beauty, romance, royalty, tragedy - it doesn't get much better than that.  I am just surprised it has taken this long.

Urban Family

The Urban Family hit the road this week, spotted here at the Sydney Airport.  Oh it's nice to have him back in the country... *sigh*

BOP GIRL

I was watching one of the music channels this morning, 80's weekend on MAX actually, and lo and behold there is BOP GIRL, which I have not heard since the 80's. Written by Ross Wilson of Mondo Rock fame for his then wife. Well anyway, as i watched, a familiar face popped onto the screen, and after a little research i find that it was her screen debut!

Faith Margaret

Proud Dad Keith Urban showed off a picture of his new daughter on his i-phone.  Keith and Nicole were atthe SAG awards and chatted about thier latest addition.

when asked why they kept it secret Nicole answered -
“We just decided this was our thing together. It protects her and it protects everyone in the situation,”

Pretty sensible when you think back to the drama that followed Sarah Jessica Parker's surrogate.

What The .......?

Oh my god - Keith and Nicole have a new baby!!
Their daughter, Faith Margaret, was born via surrogate in Nashville on December 28.

And in case you're wondering - Nicole and Keith are the biological parents.
“Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret.  No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular our gestational carrier.”
Massive congratulations to you both.

Keith and Nicole are On The Move

Unfortunately Mr Urban is leaving our shores and heading back to Nashville.  The Urban family left from Sydney airport today looking very relaxed and happy.

In Case You Were Wondering Where Nic's Kids Were

Nicole Kidman has a happy home life with husband Keith Urban and daughter Sunday Rose, 2-1/2, but says there is something missing. The Rabbit Hole actress says she wishes kids Isabella, 18, and Connor, 15, lived with her. The kids now live with Nicole's ex Tom Cruise, a decision she says she respects.

"They live with Tom, which was their choice. I'd love them to live with us, but what can you do?," she says.
