A Perfect Moment

Two days ago a magical thing happened for fans of the fabulous 80’s film, Say Anything. As Peter Gabriel struck up the chords to his hit “In Your Eyes,” the film’s star, John Cusack, came on stage to recreate one of the most famous scenes in movie history.

The movie scene involves John holding a boom box over his head to blast Gabriel’s song, and so, at the show, John ran on stage to present Gabriel with an identical boom box.
Say Anything’s director Cameron Crowe was in attendance at the show and afterwards tweeted “Peter Gabriel and John Cusack on stage together at the Hollywood Bowl tonight. Won't forget that... ever.”

SAY ANYTHING 2

On Saturday (July 29) morning, Cameron Crowe was asked about the possibility of a sequel to the 1989 coming-of-age romantic classic "Say Anything..."

"It’s the only thing that I’ve written that I would consider doing that with," Crowe told reporters. "I’ve thought about it from time to time and talked about it with John Cusack once and just said this is the only story that I kind of think there might be another chapter to that at some point."

"Say Anything..." starred Cusack as the iconic Lloyd Dobler and also featured Ione Skye, John Mahoney and Lili Taylor. But it was a less prominent character Crowe spoke of bringing back.

"We have to keep the guy, the drunk guy that Lloyd Dobler has to drive home from the prom party," Crowe said. "He’s got to come back. I think about him, too. Mike Cameron, yeah."

New Love For John

A man who holds a very special part in the hearts of your Star's Hollow editors is Mr John Cusack. He has played a major part in our youth giving us such wonderful films as ' The Sure Thing', 'High Fidelity', 'Serendipity', 'Say Anything', 'Class', '16 Candles' etc etc.
Well it looks like he has a new girlfriend and it is none other than Julian McMahon's ex - Brook Burns.
Lucky, lucky lady!

retro sunday

Just watched HIGH FIDELITY, an absolute classic. You know we are loving John Cusack and I'm loving his 'top 5' lists all through this movie. We are due for one (next few days i promise!!)
And, the cute actress who plays Laura in the film is, iIben Hjeljes, a danish actress!

Rob: Now, the making of a good compilation tape is a very subtle art. Many do's and don'ts. First of all you're using someone else's poetry to express how you feel. This is a delicate thing.

"i gave her my heart, and she gave me a pen....."

My heart broke for Lloyd when he uttered those words in the pouring rain, in the 80's classic written and directed by a young Cameron Crowe, SAY ANYTHING. He was of course in love with Diane, played by Ione Skye. Now, if you are wondering where she has been since 1989, no need to look further than our very backyard, or perhaps an ashram in India, she is now married to Ben Lee!!! She hasn't done alot of acting over the years, but did manage a bit part in an epsiode of one of our fave tv series, 'LIFE AS WE KNOW IT'.

You may also recognise the delightful Jeremy Piven, Ari from Entourage, who has acted in many films alongside John Cusack, as their parents ran an acting academy together in Chicago and they have been friends since childhood.

Now for the GG link. I almost missed it, but of course there is one! Katie Layman who plays a 'saleswoman' in SAY ANYTHING played 'Ginger' in season 2 episode 7 of Gilmore Girls!!!

John Cusack deserves his very own posting at some stage, so no more on him, let's concentrate on Lloyd!!!
