A Birthday Mouse -- for Great Impressions Stamps

It's the weekend!  Happy Saturday, everyone!  I'm posting today for Great Impressions Stamps.

I have a birthday card to share today, with an adorable mouse, spreading birthday cheer....

This card uses E838 Mouse With Flower and Tags rubber stamp.  I colored the Mouse With Flower with Copic markers.  The G483 Tags rubber stamp is a set of 4 tags.  I cut them apart, using just one of them on this card.

Papers on this card are from Photo Play -- Party Girl 12x12 papers.  I used some Die-namics cross stitched oval dies and some Close To My Heart Silver Foil tape.  The enamel dots are from my stash.

There'll be a new challenge starting tomorrow on the Great Impressions blog -- come join the fun!

Magical Birthday Wishes! for Oddball Art

It's time for a little mid-challenge inspiration at the Oddball Art Challenge Blog.  The theme this month is 'Birthday'.  I don't know about you, but I can never have enough birthday cards on hand!

There are an abundance of fantastic Oddball Art images in the Etsy Store that are perfect for this challenge.  You'll find them here.

I used Image 207 - Josie with the Butterflies - to create this birthday card --

I colored Image #207 with Copic markers, and printed the sentiment that comes with the digi on a patterned paper (also digital) from Prima -- Indeed papers.

I cut the card base out on my Silhouette with a file I found in the Silhouette Design Store.  The 3 larger butterflies are Cheery Lynn dies.

This card is perfect for a birthday, but with this sentiment, could be used for any number of happy occasions.  Josie's such a sweet thing and I love the sentiment!

I hope you can join us this month for our Birthday challenge at Oddball Art Challenge Blog.   You have until May 14 to enter!  Don't forget about the Oddball Art Facebook Challenge going on, too.  There'll be a new challenge starting there on May 1.  Facebook challenges are always Anything Goes, as long as you use an Oddball Art image.

Happy Birthday -- for Julia Spiri

It's time for a new challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.  As always, our challenges are Anything Goes with an optional twist.  This time, the twist is  -- For a Child.  I took advantage of the twist to make an always needed birthday card.

I used 'The Bunny and Cake' on this card, colored with Copic markers.

After I got done coloring 'The Bunny & Cake', I constructed the card using papers from Photo Play - Birthday Boy Collection.  The dies used to cut out the image are from Lawn Fawn.  The Kraft paper is by Carta Bella.  The card stock, sentiment, and shimmer trim are by Close To My Heart.  The enamel dots are from my stash.

I hope you can join in the next 2 weeks at Julia Spiri Challenge blog, where challenges are always Anything Goes.  This time, the optional twist is - For a Child.  You have a chance to win some great Julia Spiri images of your own, and I'd love to see what you make! Join the Stamps by Julia Spiri Facebook group, too, for more fun, inspiration, and news.

What's Up, Mom?

I have 2 monthly progressive challenges that I like to enter each month. Here are my entries into both the challenges -- Gerda Steiner's Monthly Challenge and The Outlawz Progressive Freebie Challenge.

I'll start first with my entry for the Outlawz Progressive Challenge.   The image this month is provided by my talented friend, Andrea Norris, of Sheepski Designs.   She has 2 versions, depending on what you call your mother in your neck of the woods.

Here's what I created for my Mother-in-law for the upcoming Mother's Day holiday:

I printed the Mom digi on Copic X-press It Blending card, then colored it with Copic markers.  I have some new dies from JustRite Dies that I used on this.  The Ribbon is from D.L. Art's Etsy Store.  It is part of the Valentine Bundle.

On to the entry for the Gerda Steiner Challenge:

This tag uses 'Hang In There Monkey,' a digi found in the Gerda Steiner Store.  I colored the Monkey with Copic markers, then used a variety of dies by Paper Wishes to create the tag.  The plaid paper is from Lawn Fawn, as is the sentiment and the word bubble die. The card stock and fibers are from Close To My Heart.  Love that hanging monkey!

That's all for me today.  Off to find some challenges to enter these in:

Happy spring, everyone!  I am posting today for Great Impressions Stamps

Spring brings much rain where I live.  Why not have a cute umbrella?

This fun card uses F480 Tulip Umbrella and B246 Happy Everything.  I colored Tulip Umbrella with Copic markers to give it a bit of depth.

The card base and the various circles were created with dies from Lifestyle Crafts, Lawn Fawn, and Craftin' Desert Divas.  The ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  Papers for this card are from Doodlebug Design inc.  They are the Spring Garden 6x6 paper pad.  I purchased it at The Cutting Cafe Shop online store.

Dare To Be Different -- for Coloring Without Boundaries

I'm posting today for Coloring Without Boundaries,  using a super fun digi, "Tori - Dare to be Different", by Heather Valentin.

Here's a coloring tutorial on how I got that wild hair, using Copic markers!

I'll start with her skin tones: E000, E00, E04, E11, E21
There's a bit of R20 on her cheeks, and R21 & R22 on her lips...

Now, for the wild hair!  I started with my darkest color first - B99:

Then, I added B93, and RV 29

Next, V04 and RV25 are added.

The last 2 colors I added were C01, and RV21.

I decided she needed a bright outfit, too.  I used:
Gloves -- YG11, YG13, YG17
Sweater -- R11, RV32, RV34, E04, brightened with RV21 & RV23
Jacket/pants -- YR14, YR18, E15, E18
stripes -- YG11, YG15, YG17
Shoes -- B21, B23, B26, B28, YG11, YG13, YG17
Bricks -- E50, E31, E33, E34

All that's left is the skateboard and letters.  Better make it colorful!
Skateboard -- B00, B01, B04, B06
Heart -- R20, R22, R27, R29
Wings -- Y04
Wheels -- Y06, Y08, Y28
Letters -- FYG2, FYG1, FY1, FYR1

A Bit Chilly -- for Crafty Sentiments Designs

It's time for a new challenge at the Crafty Sentiments Challenge Blog.   Back by popular demand, our theme this week is, "Anything Goes!"

We get a lot of rain where I live in April and May, so I thought this adorable rubber stamp by Crafty Sentiments Designs would be perfect!  This is 'A Bit Chilly'.

I colored 'A bit Chilly' with Copic markers, matching her to the My Mind's Eye designer papers on the card base.

The crinkle ribbon is from D.L. Art's Etsy Shop.  This is from the Valentine bundle.

The stitched dies are from Die-namics.  The umbrella die is from Echo Park (I think).

I hope you can join us this week for our Anything Goes Challenge at Crafty Sentiments Challenge blog.  I'd love to see what you make!

I Will Always Be Here for You! -- and The Cutting Cafe

I'm posting today for The Cutting Cafe.  This week, we're featuring clear card stock from The Cutting Cafe Shop.

I used the 12x12 clear card stock.  It can be printed on, so I sent a piece through my laser printer, printing words from the Animal & Bug Love Printable Set.  This is a bit frightening the first time you do it. I was sure I was going to ruin my printer, but it worked just fine.

Here's a second view of the card fold...

I colored the turtelly adorable turtle with Copic markers, then fussy cut it out.  The turtle is part of the Animal & Bug Love Printable Set.

One more view...

Check out The Cutting Cafe Blog on April 21 for more inspiration and ideas with clear card stock.   Leave a comment on the blog and you could win 3 sets of your choice!  Join the Cutting Cafe - Be Inspired Facebook Group for more inspiration!

Happy Birthday -- for Path of Positivity

It's time for a little mid-month inspiration on the Path of Positivity Challenge blog.  The theme this month is 'Grace'.

We have 2 sponsors this month...

I used an image from Pickled Potpourri and papers from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles to create this:

There are few things on earth that define grace better than flowers.  To me, they are grace -- beauty, tenacity, variety.  This digi, from Pickled Potpourri,  is called 'Tulip', and I colored it with Copic markers.  Designer papers, from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Flower Power paper pack.

I used a variety of dies from Craftin' Desert Divas  and Spellbinders to create the card base and card. The birthday sentiment is from Close To My Heart.

I hope you find time to join our 'Grace' challenge this month at Path of Positivity Challenge blog.   We have great prizes from our sponsors, and I'd love to see what you create!

Lizabeth's Daffodils -- for Coloring Without Boundaries

There's a showcase of wonderful images and talented colorists at the Coloring Without Boundaries blog.   We are showcasing Lacy Sunshine images, from the ever talented Heather Valentin.

Today, I am showcasing Lizabeth's Daffodils:

I have a brief tutorial for you on how I colored the stem and leaves of this daffodil.   All coloring was done with Copic markers.

I started with YG03 as my first green.  I wanted a bright, light, spring-like green.

Next, I added G40.  This is a light color, easy to blend, but it has quite a bit of gray in it so it will tone the bright green down -- just what I was looking for.

Next, I added my darkest green -- G46

Then, G43

The only thing left is to blend all the greens together:

Perfect!  Let's finish this!

Here's the colors I used on this coloring:
Skin -- E000, E00, E21, E31, R20 (cheeks), R21, R22 (lips)
Eyes -- B00, B24, W01
Hair -- E21, E53, E55
Flower petals -- Y02, Y15, Y17, E15
Flower middle -- YR61, YR65, YR68, E15
Shirt -- R81, R83, R85
Pants -- BG11, BG34, BG45
Shoes RV52, RV55, RV66, C1, C3, C5

I created the Easel card using my Silhouette Cameo.  Papers are digital.  They are from Basic Grey.

I hope you join our challenge this month, and check out the Coloring Without Boundaries blog for wonderful tutorials on tips & coloring techniques.

A Magical Friendship -- for Julia Spiri Stamps

It's Thursday, and time for a new challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.  The themes are always Anything Goes -- with a twist, if you choose.  This time, the twist is -- Craft bags (make a bag).  The challenge will run for the next 2 weeks.

I absolutely love Julia Spiri images.  There isn't a bad one in the bunch, but this one?!?  It has to be one of my favorites!!! (do I say that every time?) This is The Little Dragonfly...

I colored The Little Dragonfly with Copic markers.  It was so much fun to experiment with colors on those wings and the dress.  It was an Anything Goes coloring affair, let me tell you!

The bag was cut out on my Silhouette Cameo, with a file found here in the Silhouette Design Store.  I cut the colored image out with a couple of circle dies.  The plain circle die is by Spellbinders.  The stitched circle die is from Craftin' Desert Divas.  The sentiment is digital, by Polkadoodles, printed onto a Polkadoodles paper.  The paper behind the Little Dragonfly image is digital -- Prima Indeed, purchased at Snap Click Supply.  The ribbons on the bag are from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I hope you can join in on our optional Craft bag challenge at Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.  We have great prizes, and I'd love to see what you make!  Check out our Stamps by Julia Spiri Facebook group, too, for news, inspiration, discount codes, and more!

Oh Happy Day! Guest Designing for The Outlawz

I have the pleasure of guest designing again this week at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge. This week, the twist is 'Favorite Color'.

Our sponsor is PPinky Dolls Stamps.

I used the digi, 'Love is in the Air' to create this:

I colored 'Love is in the Air' with Copic markers, using my favorite color of blue.  Bluebirds are my favorite backyard bird, and these remind me of the bluebirds I see (they're back!!).

I used 2 sizes of a Spellbinders die to cut out and back the image.  Papers for this card are from Close To My Heart.  The blue ribbon (favorite color) is by Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I used my handy We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper on the card base.

Love You -- Guest Designing at TTCRD

I'm thrilled to be guest designing today at Through The Craftroom Door!  I join in their challenges most weeks, so I was super excited when I was given this opportunity to guest design for them this week! The theme is always Anything Goes!

The sponsor this week at TTCRD Challenge blog is Sami Stamps.

I used the digi stamp, 'A Flower for Me', by Sami Stamps, to create this:

I colored the 'A Flower for Me' image with Copic markers using X-Press It Blending Card, coloring the dog the same color as my Golden Retriever, Sophie.  The 'Love You' sentiment word bubble is a stamp from Close To My Heart.

I cut out the dotted background on the card base on my Silhouette Cameo, using this file from the Silhouette Design Store.   Designer papers are from Echo Park Bark collection. Card stock is by Close To My Heart.  The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  The dog bone brad is from Paper Wishes.  I cut the colored image out with a Spellbinders die.

I have a couple friends who love all things dog-related. I think this card will be perfect for either one of them.

Join in at Through The Craft Room Door this week (and every week).  It's great fun!   Thanks to Deonna Bemish and her talented team for this opportunity today.  I've had a great time!

Wish Big -- for So Suzy Stamps

So Suzy Stamps is having a design team call!  Since I love their stamps and their products, I thought I would give it a go.  I'm Wishing Big, as my card says!

I used a rubber stamp from So Suzy Stamps, of course!  This is the Dandelion from the Dandelion & Fluff set.  Remember making wishes on dandelions when you were a kid?  That's what I'm doing with this one.  I'm hoping and wishing for a spot on the wonderful So Suzy Stamps design team.  Yes, I'm wishing big!  (sentiment is a stamp from Craftin' Desert Divas.)

I stamped the Dandelion using Memento ink, then used 3 different Tim Holtz distress inks to color in the fluff -- Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, and Squeezed Lemonade.  I started with the darkest color in the middle (Scattered Straw), then worked my way out using a sponge dauber.

I used 2 sizes of a Spellbinders oval die to cut out the Dandelion.   Papers and ribbon are from Close To My Heart.  I used a card sketch from this week's Eureka Stamps challenge so I could play along.

If you are visiting my from So Suzy Stamps, please have a look around and let me know if you have any questions.  My email is julienodil at gmail dot com     Thank you for looking!!

It's Saturday!  Woohoo!  It's also my day to post on the Great Impressions Stamps blog.  Another woohoo!  I love their Stickable Stamps!  They stamp perfectly every time!

Today, I'm showcasing a sentiment and image combination stamp.  It's so beautiful, perfect for Spring!

This is G364 Special Thanks, and it took just a little coloring with my Copic markers.

I cut the base for this card out on my Silhouette Cameo.  The scalloped rectangles were cut with dies from Lawn Fawn.  The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  The stick pin is from Prima Marketing.  Papers on this card are from the Echo Park Springtime collection.

Cookie - Sock -- for Crafty Sentiments Designs

It's new release week at Crafty Sentiments Designs.  This is day 3.  Today, we're featuring another new rubber stamp with Cookie the dog.  This is 'Cookie - Sock'.  This rubber stamp, and the other new releases, will be available in the Crafty Sentiments Designs store in another couple days.  You can see all the new releases, and be inspired by the design team, by check out the Crafty Sentiments Inspirations blog

Here's 'Cookie - Sock':

I colored the rubber stamp, 'Cookie - Sock' with Copic markers.  I wanted her to be similar in color to my own dog, Sophie.  I colored the sock to match the papers I had chosen.

I made the easel card on my Silhouette Cameo, from a file I found in the Silhouette Design Store.  Here's another view so you can see the 'Woof' brad that holds it up:

Papers for this card are from Echo Park -- the Bark 12x12 Collection.  The brad and paper clip have been in my possession forever.

There'll be another new release tomorrow, so visit the Crafty Sentiments Inspirations blog to see it!  You won't be disappointed.

Thinking of You -- Guest Designing at The Outlawz

I've been given the opportunity to guest design both today and next Thursday for The Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge.  Thank you to Pat St. Martin and her team for this great opportunity!

The sponsor for this challenge is PPinky Dolls Art.  Yea!  Love her images!

The theme this week at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday is Anything Goes -- the Twist is 'With Wings'.  Now, this girl found a ride with wings!

This image is "Butterfly Girl" by PPinky Dolls Art.  This stamp is one of the digis taught in the Kit & Clowder Animals coloring class.  I used the colors for the butterfly from that class, colored with Copic markers.

Papers on this card are digital.  The butterfly print was purchased at Snap Click Supply.  It's the Prima Indeed digital papers.  The glittered hearts paper is by Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.  The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  The sentiment is by Close To My Heart.  The stitched circle die is from Craftin' Desert Divas.

I hope you join the Twisted Thursday's team this week -- and every week.  The challenges are always fun.  The Outlawz is a great place to hand out, if you haven't discovered it yet.  There's a new challenge every day!  Join in the fun.  Again, thanks to the team for letting me join in this week!

For You -- and Coloring Without Boundaries

I'm posting today for Coloring Without Boundaries, showcasing a beautiful Lacy Sunshine digi by Heather Valentin.   I have a step-by-step guide of how I colored her skin in this image, if you are interested.

Here's how I colored her skin.  I wanted it to be in shadow, as she is under an umbrella.  I used E000, E11, E00, E13, R20 (for blush), and R21 (on lips).

I start with a base coat of E000 to dampen the paper.

I then switch to my darkest color.  In this case, it's E13

Next, I add E11

Then, E00 -- I use quite a bit of this, to do more blending:

Here's the skin, completely blended, blush and lips done, too:

Other colors used:
Hair -- Y00, Y21, Y32, E53
Umbrella -- RV11, RV32, RV34, E04
Dress -- BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78, RV91, RV93, RV95, RV99
(shoes are the same RV combination)
Puddle -- BG10, BG11, C01
Zig Wink of Stella

I cut the card out on my Silhouette Cameo with a file from The Cutting Cafe -- Assorted Card Folds.   Papers are digital, and were found Snap Click Supply.  They are Prima Indeed papers.  Dies used on the card are from Die-namics.  The sentiment is a clear acrylic stamp from Close To My Heart.
