Sandy Toe & Salty Kisses -- for JDS Challenges

It's time for our mid-month inspiration over on the Jan's Dig Stamps Challenge Blog The challenge started on May 3, and goes all month.  The challenges are always Anything Goes!  There will be 2 gift certificates awarded one will be chosen at random.  The other will be awarded for a Jan Mahew image.  There will also be 3 designer choice awards.

I used a fun new Jan Mahew set called The SandBox for my DT inspiration. Here's what I created:

I colored the flip flops from the set with my Triblend Brush markers by Spectrum Noir.  The sentiment is also part of the SandBox Set

The side stepper card base is a die from Sizzix. Then, I used some other dies in my set for the rest of the card -- the circle dies are by Crafter's Companion, and the tag and heart tag dies, along with papers and ephemera are by Close To My Heart.

After this month's challenge, the Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge team is taking a break for the summer.  We will be back in September, so look for us then!

Pansy Pail Sympathy - for Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges

It's the first Monday of the month, and it's time for a new challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges. Challenges run for a month, and they are always anything goes.

We're having a cool (OK, cold) spring, so I'm craving flowers and bright colors.  That made me want to color up one of the many beautiful floral images in Jan Mahew's Shop. I used the flower pot full of pansies from Springtime.

I colored the flower pot and pansies with Copic markers.  I cut it out with a stitched circle die by Crafter's Companion.  The doily die is from Anna Griffin.

The sentiment is from a different Jan Mahew set. It's part of the Botanical Orchids set

Papers on this card are by We Are 3 Digital Shop. They are part of GranMargaret's Flowers

There are some great prizes that you could win for linking up at Jan's Digi Stamps challenges. There's a random gift certificate awarded, and another for a Jan Mahew image. There are also 3 designer choice awards given.

I'm Glad You're my Mom -- For JDS Challenges

It's time for some mid-month inspiration at It's the first Monday of the month at Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges (or JDS Challenges). Challenges are absolutely Anything Goes -- knitting, glass etching, scrapbooking, woodworking -- we want to see it all!  There is a gift certificate for a project using a Jan Mahew image, and another random winner each month. There will also be 3 designer choice awards. Awesome!

Jan Mahew has some awesome flower files.  They are some of my favorites.  I have lots of flower stamps, as they are my favorite thing to color.  Jan's are so great because they come in black & white and precolored versions.  There are also sentiments included with each file. For today's mid-month inspiration, I used the beautiful Botanical Orchids digital stamp to create this:

I colored Botanical Orchids with a combination of Spectrum Noir TriBlend Brush markers and Copic Markers. I cut it out with a Spellbinders label die, inking around the edge with ink from Close To My Heart while it was still in the frame.  The sentiment is from the newly released set called, My Mom.

Papers on this card are by We Are 3 Digital Shop. The background paper is from the Fairy Land Collection. The butterfly border (by Crafter's Companion) paper and the sentiment paper are from the Sentimental Canvas Collection

The pretty crinkle ribbon was a recent prize I won from Diana Larson.  It is available in her D.L. Art Etsy Shop.  The butterfly was found in my stash.  I've been waiting for the perfect project to use it on.

There's still time to join us this month at JDS Challenges.  I'd love to see what you create, and I'd also love to see you have a chance at the 2 gift certificates.  Use a Jan Mahew image to increase your chances!

It's Bird Chirping Weather -- For JDS Challenges

It's the first Monday of the month, and that can only mean one thing -- it's time for a new challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges (or JDS Challenges). Challenges are absolutely Anything Goes -- knitting, glass etching, scrapbooking, woodworking -- we want to see it all!  There is a gift certificate for a project using a Jan Mahew image, and another random winner each month. There will also be 3 designer choice awards. Awesome!

Jan had several new releases in March.  One was called Springtime, and it's what I used to design today's card.  One of my favorite parts of spring is having the birds return.  I eagerly await the first robin, the first loon on the lake, and the first bluebird.  We have bird feeders and bird houses throughout our property.  So, I really love this new Springtime set, with its bird and birdhouse theme.  There are black & white and precolored versions available.  I used the black & white on this card:

I picked up some inexpensive alcohol markers by Diamond Press, and used them on this project.  You get what you pay for.  I don't recommend them.  Their shading was terrible.  The light orange looked brown, and was darker than the medium and dark shades.  I was very disappointed with them.   After suffering through coloring the birdhouse and bird from the Springtime set, I fussy cut them both out.  The sentiment is also from the Springtime set. I used a set of Spellbinders label dies to cut it out and back it.

I made the slimline card using a slimline cutting die from Tutti Designs.

I hope you join us this month at JDS Challenges.  I'd love to see what you create, and I'd also love to see you have a chance at the 2 gift certificates.  Use a Jan Mahew image to increase your chances!

Your chances are even greater if you use a Jan Mayhew image, so shop the store!

Since Easter is close, I used one of Jan's darling Easter sets for today's inspiration.  This is one of the Black & White images in the Happy Easter set:

I colored the Happy Easter image with Copic markers.  The sentiment is also part of the set.

The background paper is from We Are 3 Digital Shop. It's called Bokeh Blends. The Easter eggs are dies I purchased long ago.  I think they were from Peachy Cheap. The sentiment is mounted on a die from Crafter's Companion.

You still have time to link up at JDS Challenges.  I hope you join in on our Anything Goes Challenge!  I'd love to see what you create!

Up, Up & Away -- For Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges

It's the first Monday of the month, so a new challenges starts today at Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges.  The challenge is always Anything Goes, and will run until April 4 (which happens to be Easter).

Jan has a new released set that I happen to love.  It is uplifting, and appropriate for many occasions.  The set is called Up, Up, Away.   It has several images and quite a few sentiments. Here's what I created with one of the precolored images:

Isn't it adorable! I printed the Up, Up, Away image onto a piece of paper from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  It's one of the Rainy Days papers.  The sentiment is also from the Up, Up, Away set

I hope you join us this month at JDS Challenges for our Anything Goes event.  We've got great prizes that you could win!

Sing in the Rain -- for Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges

It's time for a little mid-month inspiration for Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges.  Challenges are always Anything Goes.  This month's challenge will run until February 28, so there's still plenty of time to get those entries in!

It's still very much winter where I live, but I've been craving some color -- something beside snow and gray.  So, I took the opportunity to color up an awesome springtime digital image I found in the Jan Mayhew Store called April Showers Promise

As always, Jan's digital sets come with both black & white and pre-colored images.  There are several options of projects to make in each set, and also several sentiments.  Here's what I created with April Showers Promise:

I've got this thing for rubber boots, or galoshes, as my friends across the pond call them.  They make wet weather seem much more fun than it actually is! This pair, in their bright green, definitely look like they would make splashing through puddles an adventure!

I colored April Showers Promise with Copic markers, then fussy cut the image.  The sentiment is also part of the set.

Papers on this card are from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  I used both the Rainbow Gingham and the Dotted Swiss papers. The rhinestones are from my stash. The stitched circle dies are by Crafter's Companion.

Have you entered the JDS Challenge yet this month?  If you use a Jan Mayhew image, you increase your chances of winning one of the awesome gift certificates.  Woohoo!  Come link up!

Turner Syndrome Blog Hop

Hello, hello!  I am so glad you are here!  I am pleased to be part of the 3rd annual Turner Syndrome Blog Hop this year, and I'm offering several prizes for this great cause.  Keep reading for details.  This year we have added a card challenge so that more people can play along.  You have all month, so link up and join us!

Turner Syndrome is a genetic disorder where a female is born missing partial or all of her second X chromosome leaving her with life-long medical issues and learning disabilities.  This condition occurs one in every 2,000 female births worldwide, but is more common among pregnancies that do not survive to full term.  That is why Turner Syndrome Females are considered MIRACLES!

Prize Winners will be announced on March 13th, 2021.

23 Caring and Generous Sponsors and 12 Design Team Members are offering prizes to a commenter and card makers and they are helping bring Turner Syndrome Awareness to the Public.  For details on how you might win any of these fabulous prizes, please see Lori's TS home page.  Thank you for learning about Turner Syndrome.

My TS related project is inspired by the TSF Mood Board

I also used the beautiful digital stamp set, TSF Fairy, that Jan Mayhew designed especially for this hop.  Jan is donating the sale of the proceeds from the stamp set to the Turner Foundation.  Please consider buying either of her 2 Turner Foundation sets.  You'll find them both in her shop.

The butterfly has become the symbol for Turner Syndrome girls because they are fragile miracles.
I created this card using a butterfly panel die by Kat Scrappiness.  I inked it in the colors of the mood board, then printed the  pre-colored TSF Fairy and fussy cut her. The sentiment is also part of the set.  I used a banner die from Crafter's Companion, cut 3 times.

To be edible for the prizes that I am giving away, please become a follower of my blog.  If I reach 600 followers, I will add another prize to the mix! I recently organized my embossing folders and realized I had some duplicates. Here's a look at the prizes I am giving away:

Prize 1

Be Mine Wreath -- for Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges

It's time for a little mid-challenge inspiration at JDS challenges (Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges).  The challenge will run until January 30, and they are always Anything Goes!

It's not all that long until Valentine's Day (less than a month!), so I have begun to makes some cards.  Jan Mayhew has some beautiful sets that can be used for the occasion in her store, including the one I used on this card, Valentine Wishes.  It's even on sale!

As always with Jan's sets,  there are black & white and pre-colored images, and several in the set.  There are also several sentiments.  I used one of the black & white images here and colored it with Spectrum Noir Triblend markers, then fussy cut it out.

I used a heart die set that I've had for a long time to create the card.  It's from a company that is no longer in business.  I like it because it cuts out a nice big heart and scalloped layer.  The scalloped heart is cut out on a paper by We Are 3 Digital Shop.  It's one of the Dotted Swiss papers

Have you linked up at JDS Challenges yet? If you heaven't, there's still plenty of time.  If you use a Jan Mayhew image, you increase your chances of winning an awesome gift certificate!  Woohoo!

Roaring 2021! for Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges

It's a new year, and a new month, and it's time for a new challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges!  Challenges will go through Jan. 31, and they are always Anything Goes.  There will be gift certificates for an overall winner, and Jan's Digi winner, plus 3 designer choice awards.

Since it's so early in the month, I used one of Jan's New Year's sets to create a celebratory card for today's inspiration:

This set is called Happy New Year.  It comes with a champagne bucket, a clock, and some streamers, plus more sentiments.  As always, Jan's images are in both black & white and pre-colored.

I colored these Happy New Year champagne flutes with Copic markers, then fussy cut them. The Roaring 2021 is also from the Happy New Year set.

The bubble border is a die from Crafter's Companion.  I cut it out of white card stock and inked it with distress inks until it got a champagne color to it, then mounted it in gold.

I truly hope you find time to craft now that the busy holidays are behind us, and join us at the JDS Challenges. Remember, they are always Anything Goes!

Gifts of the Season -- a JDS Challenge Reminder

It's time for a reminder post at JDS Challenges (Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges).  The challenges are always Anything Goes, and this challenge will run until Jan. 3, 2021. There's still plenty of time to enter!

I made one last Christmas card for today's challenge (although I think it's actually for my 2021 stash).  Using two of the images from Holly & Boo, I created this:

I used the pine cone images and framed one of the sentiments, making the sentiment the focal point.  I've been trying to jump on the slimline bandwagon, but I haven't figured out the knack of photographing them yet.  I took this one form above, but I'm not real happy with the results.  It looks wonky.  Anyway, I hope you can see the pretty pine sprigs, and the lovely sentiment.

The papers on this card are from We Are 3 Digital Shop. They are 2 of the papers in the Holly Berries Collection.

I used slimline dies from Tutti Designs.  The poinsettia is from Close To My Heart.

I hope you find time to join us during this busy season at JDS Challenges.  I'd love to see your creations!

Sweet Holiday Wishes -- for JDS Challenges

It's the first Monday of the month, so that means there's a new challenge starting over on the JDS Challenge Blog (Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge Blog).  The challenges run for a month, and they are always anything goes!  Anything!!!!!

There will be 2 gift certificates awarded.  One will be random, and one will be for a project using a Jan Mayhew image.  So, shop Jan's Store!  All her Christmas digis are on sale through Christmas.

When I saw this mouse in the Peppermint Mice set, I fell in love!  I thought she was so darn cute, I just had to use her in a card!

This adorable Mrs. Peppermint Mouse is a pre-colored image.  The set comes with a black & white image, and a Mr. Mouse in a teapot, and various sentiments, including the one I used here.

The papers that I used on this card are from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  They are from the Peppermint Collection.

I hope you can join us this month for our Anything Goes challenge at JDS Challenges! I'd love to see what you make!

Sweet Holiday Wishes -- For Jan's Digi Stamps

We're more than 1/2 way through November, and it's time for some mid-challenge inspiration at Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge Blog.  The challenge started the first Monday of the month, and it will run until December 6.  You still have plenty of time!  JDS challenges are always anything goes.  Anything! Link up whatever you are working on!

You'll find many wonderful digital set in the Jan Mayhew store. If you're working on Christmas cards, there are some fantastic sets, including several news ones.  I used the wonderful new Holiday Sleigh to create this:

This is one of Jan's pre-colored images.  She does such a fabulous job on them.  I couldn't color them as well so it's really hard to not use the pre-colored variety that is offered. The sentiment is also from the Holiday Sleigh set.

I hope you can join us at JDS challenges! They'll be a random gift certificate given away, one for a Jan Mayhew image, an 3 designer choice awards.

Rejoice! For JDS Challenges

It's the first Monday of the month, and that can only mean one thing:  there's a new challenge starting at Jan's Digi Stamp's Challenges (or JDS Challenges, as we like to say!). Challenges run all month, and they are always anything goes.  We love to see anything!  Knitting, gardening (well, not this time of year in Wisconsin), quilting, scrapbooking, quilling, whatever you are working on, we'd like to see it!

Last month, Jan Mayhew released this darling Christmas set called Caroling. For me, Christmas  is all about the music, so this set really resonates with me.  I had to create it with!

I used one of the pre-colored images that come with the Caroling set because it's better than I could do.  The sentiment is also part of the set.  There's also black & white images, and each of the carolers are separated for you, plus various sentiments.  It's a great set!

I used papers from We Are 3 Digital Shop. These are from the Holiday Letters Collection

I hope you join us this month at JDS Challenges.  There are 2 gift certificates given away.  One for anyone who enters, and one for someone using a Jan's Digi Stamps image.  There are also 3 designer choice awards.

Thinking Good Thoughts -- For JDS Challenges

It's time for some mid-challenge inspiration on the Jan's Digi Stamp Challenge Blog.  Challenges run all month, and are always anything goes -- cards, crocheting, gardening, your sand castle at the beach, whatever it is you've created, we'd love to see it linked up at JDS Challenges

Jan Mayhew has many fantastic digital sets in her shop.  Each set has black & white and pre-colored images, and the sets come with several sentiments.  You are sure to find something you'd enjoy creating with.  Stop on by and take a look at her beautiful art work at the Jan's Digi Stamps Shop

One of my new favorite sets is the Wildflower Blossoms.  I love the delicate flowers, and this month, I also colored up the awesome vase!

I colored Wildflower Blossoms with Copic markers, then used one of the sentiments in the Bonnet Bouquet set.

My card base is 5x7.  I cut a piece of black glitter card at 6.75x4.75, then I cut out the mosaic corner die by Crafter's Companion on a piece of blossom card stock the same size.  I glued this to the black glitter card.  All the other dies are from Spellbinders.  The black ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I hope you can join us at JDS challenges this month! The current challenge runs until Sept. 6.  There will be two gift certificates awarded.  One for a Jan's Digi Stamp image and one random winner.  There will also be 3 designer choice awards.  Come join in the fun!

Flowers in Memory -- for JDS Challenges

It's the first Monday of the month, so it's time for a new challenge at JDS Challenges.  Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges are always anything goes, and run for a month, so this challenge will go until Sept. 6.  You can link up absolutely anything you have made from crocheting to paper crafts to gardening -- anything goes!  There will be 2 gift certificates given away at each challenge -- one for a Jan's Digi stamp image, and one random project.  There will also be 3 designer choice awards.

For this month's inspiration, I used the beautiful Church Sympathy Set. I used it to create this:

There are several images in the set, both in black & white and in pre-colored.  I used one of the black & white images, and one of the sentiments, and colored the image with Spectrum Noir water color pencils and a damp paint brush.  I cut that layer out with a stitched oval die.  I foiled the layer directly behind that, using my Gemini Hot Foil Press machine, then cut that out with a slightly bigger stitched oval die.  The 2 papers behind that are from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  The paper behind the ovals is from the Glorious Collection.  The largest piece of printed paper is from the Fairy Dreams papers. The 2 largest dies are from Crafter's Companion.

Check out the Church Sympathy Set and other fantastic set in the Jan Mayhew store. Then join us this month in our Anything Goes challenge at JDS Challenges.  I'd love to see what you make!

Sleigh Ride -- For JDS Challenges

Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges are now month-long, but are always anything goes.  Enter whatever you are working on: cards, crocheting, gardening, home decor -- we'd like to see it all!  Today's post is a bit of mid-month inspiration, and to let you know that Jan is having a bit of a Christmas in July sale.  All Christmas sets are 25% the entire month of July!  It's time to stock up on those cute sets you've been thinking about! There are 21 sets on sale in the Jan Mayhew Store!

I used a simple, yet beautiful set from one of the 21 sale sets.  It's called Sleigh Ride

I used the main image and one of the sentiments in the set of Sleigh Ride.  It comes with the main image flipped in either direction, and also has some winter-like trees, plus more sentiments.

This double sided tree edger die had recently arrived at my house, so I thought it would work well with this Sleigh Ride image.  It took a bit to get the sizing of the image figured out with the trees, but I'm happy with the final results.   The edger die is from Crafter's Companion.

The pretty plaid background paper is by We Are 3 Digital Shop.  It is one of the papers in the Holiday Letters Collection

The snowbanks at the bottom of the Sleigh Ride image were created by free handing 2 rows of drifts.  The snow was made with Nuvo Glitter Drops.

The JDS Challenge will run until Sunday, August 2.  I truly hope you join us.  There is a gift certificate for someone using a JDS image, and a random draw for a gift certificate out of all the entries, plus some designer's choice awards.

Plant a Garden -- for JDS Challenges

It's the first Monday of the month, and that means there is a new challenge getting underway at Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges.  They are always Anything Goes. Challenges now last for a month, and at the end of each challenge, 2 gift certificates are awarded.  One is random, and one is for an entry using a Jan's Digi Stamp image.  There are also 3 designer choice awards.

I used a gorgeous stamp set from the Jan's Digi Stamp Store.  It is a new release, and has so, so, so many pretty images in it, and different sentiments with it, too.

This card uses one of the images from Wildflower Blossoms, and one of the sentiments.  Beautiful, yes?

I got some new watercolor markers from Spectrum Noir and decided to give them a play.  There was a bit of a learning curve with the different nibs on them,  but I'm fairly happy with how this turned out.  I don't use watercolors nearly enough.  Much of the watercolor effect was achieved with a paint brush.

The papers on this card are from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  I used 2 of the papers from Margaret's Irises.  The butterflies are from Crafter's Companion.

I hope you  join us this month for the Anything Goes challenge over at JDS Challenges!

Make America Strong -- for Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges

I'm posting a bit of reminder inspiration for Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges today.  Challenges now last an entire month.  The current challenge started June 1, and will run through June 30. Independence Day will soon be upon us, so that was what was on my mind when I created this card for today's post:

I combined two different Jan Mayhew sets on this card -- Independence Day Friends and Patriotic Boy.  The red fireworks, the blue fireworks, and the sentiment are from the Independence Day Friends set.  The flags are from the Patriotic Boy set. I used the pre-colored versions of all of these.

I cut the star shaped card base out on my Silhouette Cameo 3 with a file I found in the Silhouette Design Store.  The rest of the stars were cut out with a set of dies from Technique Tuesday.

Come join us at Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges for our Anything Goes Challenge.  You can link up whatever you are working on.  I'd love to see it, and we have great prizes you can win!

Missing You -- For JDS Challenges

It's the first Monday of the month, so it's time for a new challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps Challenges.  Challenges are month-long now, but there are more prizes being awarded.  They are still anything goes, so make sure you link up whatever it is you are working on.

States may be opening up more, but many of us are still social distancing.  I am very much missing my friends and family.  This digi set by Jan Mayhew sums it up nicely.  It's called Alone Together. I used one of the images and one of the sentiments from the set to create this:

I thought that empty adirondack chair from Alone Together is quite fitting.  It is a sign of the times  I colored the image with Copic markers.  The buffalo plaid paper is from We Are 3 Digital Shop. It is one of the Plaids & Stripes Neutrals, printed on a mint green paper.

Join us this month for the Anything Goes challenge at Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges.  There will be a prize awarded for someone using a Jan's Digi Stamp image, and a random win, plus some designer choice winners.
