It's time for another challenge at Lavinia World Challenges. I hope you are having as much fun with these challenges as I am! Challenges start on Thursday and last for 2 weeks. You don't have to use Lavinia Stamps, but it doubles your chance at winning a $15 gift certificate to the Lavinia World Store if you do. You must use an acrylic or rubber stamp -- no digital stamps allowed.
Since it's July 4th today, and it's a very patriotic day here in the US, I thought I'd go with a patriotic themed card for today's challenge. Using the Whimsical Hares stamp, I created this:
I created the card using a star shaped card file I found in the Silhouette Design Store, a stacked star file, and the circle and stars file, also in the Silhouette Design Store. I stamped one of the hares from the Whimsical Hares stamp set directly on the patriotic paper, using StazOn ink. The patriotic papers are from We Are 3 Digital Shop. They are from 2 different paper packs -- Nautical Love and Roses Are Red. The USA was cut out with dies from Spellbinders.
Happy Independence Day to all of you in the USA, and join us in the next 2 weeks at Lavinia World Challenge Blog!
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
International Art & Soul -- Stars &/or stripes
Outlawz Festive Fridays -- your national flag
D.L. Art -- July Linky Party
I have this blog as a place to share my creative self -- be it card making, music playing, scrapbooking, altered art, home decor, or whatever direction my art takes me. My dogs are always a part of my home life, so they have to be a part of my blog, too.

Time To Dance on the Table! - for The Cutting Cafe
Merry Christmas, my blog friends! Phew! The big day is almost here. I have today off of work, but will be at the nursing home on Christmas Day, spending it with my "other family".
This week, at The Cutting Café, the design team is featuring either a wine glass or a wine-bottle shaped card. Well, I had a riot with this one!
I used the oh-so-fun wine glass shaped cutting file...
This card is larger than I usually make. It measures 5x6 1/2. I made it a little larger so I could make the wine glass large, to really stand out on the card -- the same reason for the pink glitter paper.
The background paper started as a piece of shiny cardstock that I used some alcohol inks on.
Here's a close up of the wine glass and Fashionista:
The Fashionista is a Unity Stamp Company creation called Anastasia. She was so much fun to color with Copic markers!
The sentiment is also from Unity Stamp Company. It's from a set called, "Sassy Pants." I stamped the sentiment using StazOn ink.
On the inside of the card, I used one of the many printable stamp sets from The Cutting Café. I used the "It's New Year Time" printable stamp set.
The card is finished off with some glitter trim from Close To My Heart.
That's it for today's post. I still have lots to do!
Enjoy the holidays! Have fun! And if you dance on the table, I wanna see a picture!

Happy Holidays, Happy Day!
Happy Hump Day, everyone! I've been looking forward to this day for a long time! Beckie, of Just B Creative Crazy, owner of the wonderful online store, Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions, has asked me to be a guest designer for her blog. Woohoo! I am super excited and very honored to be chosen. She sent me some wonderful supplies to work with and I'm having FUN! You'll see my creations today, and the next 2 Wednesdays.
For my first project, I immediately fell in love with the 1.5" striped grosgrain ribbon. It spoke of Christmas to me, so I went with a Christmas themed project.
I made this wall hanging using one of the sweet coasters from the Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions store as my base. I covered it with some designer paper from Close To My Heart, then sanded the edges. The adorable bird image is a Unity Stamp set, "Birdies, Hugs, and Mistletoe". I colored it with Copic markers and used some Crystal Stickles on the hat rim and pom poms, plus a little Christmas Red on the bow of the present. The sentiment is a Close To My Heart stamp, stamped with StazOn ink on to a wood flag piece from Unity Stamp Company.
Right now, I have this piece hanging on a wall between our kitchen and laundry room. I plan to give it to my in-laws for Christmas, but it sure does look cute where it is. Hmmm. Do I have time to make another one?

I'm guest designing for Sweet Stamps! Starting with a Silhouette!
I have a month-long gig guest designing for Sweet Stamps! I've been excited about this ever since Stacey invited me back in May! I have 5 projects lined up ready to go for the month Woohoo! Can't wait! Thanks Stacey and Sweet Stamps!
There are weekly challenges at Sweet Stamps, so if you haven't discovered their blog and challenges yet, head on over. This week's challenge is a silhouette challenge. I chose the beautiful "Queen Anne's Lace Wildflower" stamp (6008G) to work with:
I thought I brought everything I would need to make my guest DT projects with when I went on a recent 4-day scrapbook retreat. I discovered once I got there that I forgot my watercolor paints. And, that's what I had planned in my head for this card. So, instead, I used Gelatos. The pink colored background paper is the top two colors of Gelatos, blended together with a baby wipe. Then, for the backdrop to the flowers, using watercolor paper, I smudged on some Gelatos, wet down my finger, and blended. I used Stazon ink for the Queen Anne's Lace Wildflower stamp. Some bling from my stash "tacks" down the corners.
Inside, I stamped this Sweet Stamps sentiment (9126C)...
That's it for me this week. Next week's challenge is BLING! Yeah. Gotta love that theme! Make a silhouette challenge and come link up!

Best Day Ever!
I have a card on the 3 Girl JAM Challenge blog today. It's the final day of this challenge -- anything goes with ribbon. So get going and link up!
I made this card and took it to my BFF's last week on our road trip. I had every intention of leaving it when we left, signing it from the dogs. They love going to "Aunt Sheri's", as we refer to her.
As it turned out, it wasn't the best day ever and it didn't seem appropriate to leave this card. More on that tomorrow. This card will wait for a happier day to be delivered to my BFF.
I used a bubblegum pink cardstock for the base, then used a layer of black. I used a Lifestyle Crafts circle die to cut a hole in the white wood grain cardstock on the front of the card, making a window. I then used silver StazOn ink to stamp on the black layer, carefully aligning it where the window will be when the front is attached. I stamped with Hero Arts neon inks, using Studio Calico banner stamps. The "best day ever" sentiment is a Unity stamp.
The ribbon is, of course, 3 Girl JAM. I used ribbon from the Celebrations bundle and the Wine & Jewels bundle. They, and many more, can be found in the 3 Girl JAM store. I wove them together across the front of the card, then tied them together in a double bow.
The heart sequins are from my stash. I have no idea where they came from or how long I've had them. I thought they added some nice color in with the neon inks and fit well with how I planned to use the card.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
