Lizabeth's Daffodils -- for Coloring Without Boundaries

There's a showcase of wonderful images and talented colorists at the Coloring Without Boundaries blog.   We are showcasing Lacy Sunshine images, from the ever talented Heather Valentin.

Today, I am showcasing Lizabeth's Daffodils:

I have a brief tutorial for you on how I colored the stem and leaves of this daffodil.   All coloring was done with Copic markers.

I started with YG03 as my first green.  I wanted a bright, light, spring-like green.

Next, I added G40.  This is a light color, easy to blend, but it has quite a bit of gray in it so it will tone the bright green down -- just what I was looking for.

Next, I added my darkest green -- G46

Then, G43

The only thing left is to blend all the greens together:

Perfect!  Let's finish this!

Here's the colors I used on this coloring:
Skin -- E000, E00, E21, E31, R20 (cheeks), R21, R22 (lips)
Eyes -- B00, B24, W01
Hair -- E21, E53, E55
Flower petals -- Y02, Y15, Y17, E15
Flower middle -- YR61, YR65, YR68, E15
Shirt -- R81, R83, R85
Pants -- BG11, BG34, BG45
Shoes RV52, RV55, RV66, C1, C3, C5

I created the Easel card using my Silhouette Cameo.  Papers are digital.  They are from Basic Grey.

I hope you join our challenge this month, and check out the Coloring Without Boundaries blog for wonderful tutorials on tips & coloring techniques.

Grace -- for Path of Positivity

It's the first Monday of the month, so we're starting a new challenge at Path of Positivity Challenge Blog.   Our theme this month is 'Grace'.

We have two sponsors this month --

and

I used a tulip image from Pickled Potpourri Designs to create this:

I colored Tulip with Polychromos pencils on Kraft paper.  The quote is from Auguste Rodin, and is computer generated.    Dies for this card are from Lawn Fawn.  Ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  The button is from my stash.  Designer papers are Basic Grey - Serenade, 6x6 pad.

Grace -- spring flowers, poking through the cold winter ground, somehow surviving the bleakest of weather and shortest of days.  Surely this is a miracle we witness every year, and a gift from God. Grace.

I hope you join us this month for our 'Grace' challenge at Path of Positivity this month.  I'd love to see your interpretation of this theme, and what you make.

Live Fast & Stay Pretty -- GD at Crafty Friends

Hello, and happy Saturday! Oddball Art Stamps is sponsoring the Crafty Friends Challenge blog this next weeks, and I'm guest designing, representing Oddball Art Stamps.  How fun is that?   The theme is "Girlie".  Easy and fun, right?  Especially using an Oddball Art Stamp Co. image.  There are LOTS of girlie ones!

I used image 167, Sweet Sai the Fairy,  to create this:

I colored Sai the Fairy (image 167), with Copic markers, using pastel, girlie colors.  The card base is a cutting file from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.   I used papers from Basic Grey.  The ribbon and lace are from 3 Girl JAM.  The sentiment is from Close To My Heart.  I used a Spellbinders scallop oval die to cut out the image.

I hope you can join the fun at Crafty Friends Challenge blog this next 2 weeks, entering the Girlie challenge.  There's great prizes to be won -- Oddball Art Stamps!  Yea!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

I {Heart} You

It's the last Saturday of the month, and we're starting a new challenge today at 3 Girl JAM. The challenge is always Anything Goes with Ribbon -- Easy, so join us this month!

Lacy Sunshine Stamps has the cutest images!  I'm in love with them, so I used another one today on this card.  They go with anything.  This is Jillian...

I colored Jillian with Copic markers, then used a Spellbinders circle die to cut her out, and another Spellbinders die behind that.  DP is from Basic Grey -- Knee Highs Collection.  I cut a label die in 1/2, and spaced it to fit behind the 2 Spellbinders cuts.

The jute ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  I love the texture it adds to a project! You can find the Jute Ribbon & String pack HERE.

Do you want to do some shopping at the 3 Girl JAM store?  Use discount code JO10 for 10% off of anything!  YES!

Bring Your Own Sunshine!

I'm posting today for 3 Girl JAM, my favorite ribbon company, and also for Morgan's Art World (formerly Fitztown).  There's a new challenge starting at Morgan's Art World, with an optional theme of Red, White, and Blue. Since it's so near Independence Day here in the U.S.A., I wanted a patriotic feel to my card.

The butterfly is a digi image , Garden 17.  Morgan Fitzsimons' digis can be found in the Fae Entertainment Store.  I colored the digi with Copic markers, and fussy cut it.  The sentiment is from Close To My Heart.  I found the card kit in the Silhouette Online Store here.  The designer paper is from Basic Grey.  Card stock is CTMH.

The pretty crinkle ribbon?  The stuff that ties the whole card together?  That's 3 Girl JAM, of course!  It's from the Red, White, and Blue Bundle.

You can use discount code JO10 to get 10% off of anything you order from the 3 Girl JAM Store. 10%!  That's huge!  Or, use code JULY to receive the new Summer Harvest bundle for just $1 with the purchase of any other item from the store.

Enter Morgan's Art World's challenge -- it's Anything Goes, with an optional Red, White, and Blue twist.  Enter 3 Girl JAM's Anything Goes with ribbon challenge! Fun, fun, fun!!!!

Friends

I'm sharing a card today that I made for a friend that recently had surgery.  I wanted a card that would let her know I was thinking of her.  I'd received a beautiful poppy image, designed by Anne's Digital Art, and this month's progressive challenge freebie at The Outlawz Challenge.  I thought it would be perfect for what I had in mind.

I colored the poppy image with Close To My Heart watercolor pencils, then used a Close To My Heart Blending Pen

The card base is from Bazzill, the designer paper is from Basic Grey, and the ribbon is from my stash.  The banner stamp and sentiment are from Close To My Heart -- Finding the Words.

This is such a versatile image. I know I will use it again and again.  Thanks to Anne's Digital Art for participating in The Outlawz Progressive Freebie Challenge!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
The Outlawz Monthly Progressive Challenge -- June
D.L. Art -- June Linky Challenge
Sister Act Card Challenge -- ATG

I'm posting today for the Crafty Sentiments Inspirations blog. These images are sooooo cute!  Today, I share with you Kaye(Springtime), a digi stamp from the Crafty Sentiments Design store

I colored Kaye with Copic markers.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to create the card for her. The designer papers are from Basic Grey. Embellishments are from Close To My Heart.
Spring is just underway where I live.  We are just starting to get rid of jackets and sweaters, and get out the short sleeves.  I've yet to wear shorts, but I hope the day is coming soon.  Like Kaye (Springtime), I'm thinking Spring!
Starting in June, I'm switching to the Crafty Sentiments Challenge blog team.  Come check out all the creations from the design team, and join our challenges.

You Do Everything with Style -- for The Cutting Cafe

It's Thursday, and I'm posting today for The Cutting Cafe.  The theme this time is all about fashion -- dresses and dress forms.  I love shaped cards, so I chose to use the Fun With Dress Forms Cutting File and Printable Set.
I used My Mind's Eye Kraft Life Stories papers.  I searched forever to find the papers to achieve the vintage look I was after.  I settled for these.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company, and since there's a bit of Unity on here, I'm going to enter this is Unity's Friends With Flair. The lace and ribbon are from 3 Girl JAM. The pearls are from Basic Grey.

Be Mine -- for Snapdragon Snippets

I'm posting today for Snapdragon Snippets.  We're so close to Valentine's Day, but I wanted to show a couple of sweetheart cards I made using Snapdragon Snippets files. They turned out so pretty!
You can find this first 'Be Mine' card here in the Silhouette Design Store, and HERE in the Snapdragon Snippets Store:

I used Basic Grey papers on this card, and some bling from my stash.
On this next card, I combined 2 Snapdragon Snippets files.

The card file is the Artisan Edged Card: Scalloped Heart, found in the Silhouette Design Store and HERE in the Snapdragon Snippets Store.  I the middle of the heart, I placed the "I Love You", found HERE in the Snapdragon Snippets Store.
Papers on this card are from Close To My Heart, as is the enamel heart and glitter trim.  The lace is from 3 Girl JAM.
These cards went out in Monday's mail, heading across the country to friends and family to wish them a Happy Valentine's Day.  I wish you the same!

Fight Like a Girl! for Amy Doodle Stamp Co.

It's Tuesday, and this is turning into my day to post for the new Amy Doodle Stamp Company.  I have a more serious card to share today.  Amy made a set of 2 digis, and a portion of the sales will go the MPN Research Foundation.
Cancer has affected many people.  My mother died of a malignant brain tumor 9 years ago.  She struggled for 1 1/2 years with it.  I learned about courage, and hope, and letting go without loving less.  This card is for HER.

At one point in her treatment, all her hair fell out, and she wore a scarf just like this one -- same color, matching her blue eyes.  Later, her hair grew back, and it was super curly.  She loved it that way! It was about the only 'nice' thing that happened -- fun hair!
Here are the 2 Brave Chick stamps (1 set)...

The ribbon-shaped card is a cutting file from The Cutting Cafe.
Brave Chick was colored with Copic markers, then fussy cut.
Designer papers are from Basic Grey. The sentiment is part of the Brave Chick stamp set.
Here's the Copic colors I used:

I miss you, Mom.
Please visit the Amy Doodle Facebook page each day this week to see what this talented design team has done with this thought-provoking stamp set.

Joy is Not in Things -- for Fitztown

Hello, and happy Monday.  It's challenge time at the Fitztown Challenge blog. This week's theme is:  Banners or Pennants.  Banners make me think of a celebration.  I needed to make a birthday card for a very special friend celebrating her 60th birthday.  I didn't want it to be a typical birthday card, but rather, a beautiful card about happiness.  Fitztown's stunning images helped me achieve what I was after:

I used Fitztown digistamp Garden 9 on this card.  I love to color flowers, and sunflowers are one of my favorites.  So, this card was a joy to make. I used Copic markers to color the image.  I made the image quite large so it would be the showcase of the card.
Designer papers and sticker sentiment are from Close To My Heart.  Pearls are from Basic Grey.
I hope Lori likes her non-traditional birthday card!
Come enter the Fitztown Banners or Pennants Challenge.  You have 2 weeks!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Button, Button, Who's Got the Button?

Hello, and happy Thursday! Do you remember that childhood game of searching for the missing button?  My grandmother, who had the BEST button jar, used to have us play it alot.  I LOVED looking through her button jar and searching for the button!
This week, at Delightful Challenges, the challenge theme is "Button, Button, Use a Button or Brad".  Well, why use one button when you can use several?
Here's what I did this week!

Yup, lots of buttons! A rainbow of buttons!

I used the delightful 'rainbow digi' from Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  It's available colored and uncolored.

I used the Spring Sentiment set and put the "Hello Sunshine" in the cloud.

The papers on this card are Echo Park Dots and Stripes.  The card stock is by Close To My Heart.  The buttons are all from Basic Grey, and they are threaded with Close To My Heart Waxy Flax. I colored the Rainbow image with Copic markers.  I used a We R Memory Keepers Cloud Corner Chomper on the various layers.
The challenge this week at Delightful Challenges is sponsored by The Robin's Nest

Come join in our "Button, Button" challenge!

Tres Chic! for DigiStamps4Joy

It's Sunday, and there are some FABULOUS new releases at DigiStamps4Joy today!  We were given a choice of which image we wanted to design with, and it was a VERY tough choic.  I chose the lovely, 'Tres Chic' -- partly because my husband and I have been glued to the Tour de France each evening so an image in French fit, oui?
Here's what I created:

She is chic, isn't she?  Here's the digi image I used:

She is a stamp drawn by Jen Lee for DigiStamps4Joy.  I paired her with a sentiment from Unity Stamp Company.  I thought the two went together quite well!
The image was colored with Copic markers.  I used Basic Grey  Hipster 6x6 papers. The card base and tag are Close To My Heart juniper cardstock.  The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  It is the Latte ribbon from the Coffee Bundle.  I used 2 Spellbinders dies on this card.
Check out the other great releases this week at DigiStamps4Joy, and please check out the other awesome creations from the design team!  They will blow you away!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Keep It Simple -- Take a Bow
