Born to Ride -- for The Cutting Cafe

Hello, crafty friends!  It's riding season!  We're celebrating road trip time at The Cutting Cafe.   You'll see all sorts of creations celebrating summertime and road trips this week!

Since my husband and I like to spend as much time on the Harley as possible, that's the theme I decided to go with:

I used the Cutting Cafe file "It's Road Trip Time" printable stamp set.  It also comes with a couple of sag files for the sign shaped cards, one of which I used here. 

The motorcycle and sentiment are from Raisin Boat. They're going out of business and all the sets remaining are 60% off, so if you like this, shop quick!  

The orange paper -- as close to Harley orange as I could find -- is some old My Mind's Eye paper I've had in my stash forever.  The ribbon is from my stash.

Pretty as a Peacock

Greetings, my blog friends, and happy Saturday.  

 

I have my first official post as a Pinque Pinquette today, and I couldn't be more excited! I love Pinque Peacock products (say that three times fast!) so it's a joy to design for the company.

For my first project, I thought it would be fun to use a peacock.  Here's a real beauty, strutting his stuff.

 

The beautiful beaded stick pins can be found in the Pinque Peacock store HERE.  The peacock stamp and sentiment are from Raisin Boat stamps. I colored the peacock with Copic markers. The set is called, appropriately, "Pretty Bird." Designer papers are a 6x6 pad by SEI. The easel card design is from MyScrapChick.com.

Lilacs? Hydrangea? I'm going with Lilacs!

Hello and Happy Thursday!  I have this card up over on the 3 Girl JAM blog today.  Since the lilacs are FINALLY in bloom after a late, late, cool, wet spring, I'm calling them lilacs (but I think they're hydrangeas).  You smell them and tell me what you think!

 

 

 

I used My Mind's Eye Meadowlark 6x6 designer papers on the card, Close To My Heart cardstock, a doily, CTMH Opaque Pearl Flourishes, a Pinque Peacock stickpin from my friend, Jessica, and of course, crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM.  This is from the Celebrations Bundle.  There's some Creative Inspirations Paints on the blooms to make them shimmer in Fairy Dust. The stamp set is from Raisin Boat.  Wanna know the name?  Well, it's Hydrangea Bouquet.  I'm still going with lilacs.  I'm the artist and it's MY card!

Cotton Candy and Gelatos -- it's making me hungry!

The current linky party at All That Stickles is Cotton Candy.  Maybe it's the color name, but something about it made me want to break out my Gelatos and play with them while making this card. Since, I'm the artist, that's exactly what I did!  Here's my Cotton Candy Stickles, plus Gelatos card:

I put 3 different colored Gelatos on a craft sheet, spritzed some water on them, then used my finger to mix the Gelatos and water together.  Then, I used them as my ink pad, stamping on to watercolor paper.  The cotton candy flower was heat embossed, then fussy cut.  The stamp set is from Raisin Boat, and it's Really Reasonable Ribbon.  And, of course, Cotton Candy Stickles.

2 winners for 200 followers! Plus a card or two!

I had a give-away going on my blog last week to celebrate my busy week of scrappiness -- posts everyday and two blog hops.  In the midst of it all, I reached and surpassed 200 followers, so I decided that was reason enough to give away two prizes.  I'll announce the winners shortly, but first, a card:

I've been wanting to try the chalkboard technique, and this stamp by Raisin Boat seemed like a good one to start with. The Oops a Daisy stamp set has some fun images.  I heat embossed this one, then offset is slightly with white ink.  I used some Twisted Teal twine from Trendy Twine (on sale this month!), die cut the word 'MOM' on my Silhouette, and added a couple buttons (Theresa Collins Spring Fling), strung with some Close to My Heart Waxy Flax. The base is Carta Bella Kraft paper.
