Birthday Chick -- for Bugaboo Stamps

It's Tuesday -- that's New Release Tuesday at Bugaboo Stamps.  Every Tuesday, there's a new release.  Woot!  Today's new release is meant for Easter, but works for many occasions -- including birthdays!

This is Easter Chick Flower:

I colored Easter Chick Flower with Copic markers, then fussy cut it.  The flower border is an SVG cut file from My Scrap Chick.  It was the Friday Freebie a week or so ago.

For more inspiration using this Easter Chick Flower,  check out the Catch the Bug blog to see what the other talented designer created with it.

I Love Summer -- for Scribbles Designs

It's the weekend!  Yea!  Since it's only the second full day of summer, I thought I'd offer some Summertime inspiration for my Scribblers Inspiration post, over on the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog today.

This first card features Sneakers:

I colored up the Sneakers image with Copic markers.  I computer generated the "I love Summer" on the toes of the shoes before I printed the digi.  The papers and word stickers are from Echo Park.

This next card has a fun design.  It's the first time I've made this card.  Here's the card, closed up:

The sentiment on the front, one of 7 that comes in the Words 3 set, is from Scribbles Designs.  The best part, though, is the fun design inside .  Here's the card, partially opened:

Here's a close up of the Flower Doodle 8 --

I colored the Flower Doodle 8 with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils.  I love colored pencils on Kraft.

This card design was a free SVG file from My Scrap Chick.  The papers were from my stash.  The gold birds were free from Paper Wishes.

That's it for today's summertime inspiration.  Now, it's time to get outside and enjoy this beautiful summer weather.  It's far too short and I want to enjoy it!  Woohoo!

Bee Loved -- for Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez

Happy Thursday, crafty friends.  Thursday -- almost as great a day as Friday, isn't it?!?  I guess that's because Friday is just just around the corner!

I'm posting today for Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez.  I've been having so much fun with her digital stamps!  The one I colored up today was such a joy!

This card uses digital stamp, Honey Bee.  The stamp comes with the bee, the hearts, and the Bee Loved sentiment.  (I added the bee flying pattern to the sentiment). You can use the bee separately, the hearts separately, or combine them, like I did here with this Honey Bee card.  I colored the Honey Bee with Copic markers and printed the sentiment on my computer.

The card base is an SVG file from My Scrap Chick.  I thought the honeycomb pattern worked so well with this card, and the colors went together perfectly!  I used a couple of circle cutting dies from Lifestyle crafts and Craftin' Desert Divas to cut out the Honey Bee.

I hope you check out the Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez store.  She has darling stamps -- both clear acrylic and digital.  She also has some digital papers, printable cards, Zazzle files, and freebies.  It's worth a snoop around for sure!  Check out her Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez blog, where many of her images are featured by herself and the design team.  You won't be disappointed! You'll find the Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez Facebook Group here, and there's a monthly Anything Goes challenge we'd love to have you participate in!

Happy Birthday, You Old Goat! -- for QKR Stampede

Happy Friday, my loyal followers!  Enjoy your weekend.

I have a friend that I send a card to every week.  In just a couple od days, he turns 97!  Ninety seven!  Unbelievable!  He is one of the neatest people I know, with an incredible sense of humor.   I made him this card, because I think it will tickle his funny bone...

I also made this card for this week's challenge at QKR Stampede Challenge Blog.  The challenge is always Anything Goes.

This card uses several QKR Stampede digital stamps.  The image, colored with Copic markers, is Old Ram (Q-digi15611).  The Old Goat sentiment is Q-digi14506.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is digi15521.

The card base is an SVG cutting file from My Scrap Chick.

I hope you can join us this week at QKR Stampede for our Anything Goes challenge!  I'd love to see what you make, and we've got great digis you can win!  Like this one!

Choose Joy -- for DigiStamps4Joy

It's the 15th of the month, and that means it's time for some mid-month inspiration over on the DigiStamps4Joy Challenge Blog.  March's theme is Anything Goes with an optional "Being Young" twist.  Nothing says being young to me like spring and new plant growth.  Some of the first flowers to grow in the spring are tulips, so, for the challenge, I colored up these whimsical tulips, found here in the DigStamps4Joy store.

I colored Fantasty Tulips (rg052) with Copic markers,  then cut out with a stitched oval die from Die-namics.

The card base was cut out on my Silhouette Cameo 3, with a lattice cutting file found at My Scrap Chick.  The sentiment is a stamp from Close To My Heart, cut out with dies from Paper Wishes, as is the butterfly die.

There's still plenty of time to join in the Anything Goes challenge at DigiStamps4Joy!  I hope you can join us, as I'd love to see your awesome creations, and we have wonderful digis you can win (like this one!)

Happy! for the Path of Positivity Challenge blog

It's time for a new challenge, this first Monday of the month, at the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog.  If you've been following along with us this year, you've caught on to our color themes.  This month, the optional color theme is 'yellow'.  I love yellow!  Yellow makes me happy!  Yellow makes me think of sunshine, warmth, and growing things.  Yellow, to me, is a fell-good color!

We have 2 guest sponsors this month at the Path of Positivity Challenge Blog -- Limited Runs Digital Stamps and Imagine That Digistamp.  For the beginning of our challenge, I had the fun of using Flower with Ladybug from Limited Runs

I colored Flower with Ladybug with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils.  The easel card is an SVG file from My Scrap Chick.  The digital paper is from Snap Click Supply.  The sentiment -- one of my favorites -- is a stamp from Hot Off The Press.  I found the buttons in my stash while looking for a ladybug brad that I'm SURE I have, but never found!

I hope you join in the challenge this month at Path of Positivity.  To be eligible for the awesome prizes from our sponsors, please follow the optional 'Yellow' theme.  Or, enter anything inspirational that you'd like to.  The challenge will run until April 1st.

Daisy Bucket -- a DigiStamps4Joy New Release

It's New Release Sunday at DigiStamps4Joy!  There are some great new releases, and I had the absolute delightful experience of working with one of them -- Daisy Bucket:

It's winter here where I live, so I've been craving bright colors, so I went with raspberry colored daisies!  Why not!

I colored Daisy Bucket with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils.  The easel card is an SVG files from My Scrap Chick.  It makes a very elegant card, doesn't it?  The sentiment is from Hot Off the Press.

I hope you take time to check out all the New Releases today at DigiStamps4Joy.  You won't be disappointed in the fantastic talent from the design team, or the new digis in the store!

A new challenge just started at DigiStamps4Joy on March 1.  It's Anything Goes, with an optional theme of "being Young".  It goes until March 31, so I hope you can join in the fun!

Dogs Leave Pawprints In Our Hearts -- for Great Impressions

It's Saturday, and I'm posting for Great Impressions Stamps blog.  I poured my heart into today's piece of art.  My good friend recently lost her 15 year old Golden Retriever.  I've been wanting to come up with a remembrance piece to give her.  I wanted it to be sweet, but not too sad.  Here's it is:

I used Great Impressions rubber stamp Valentine Sparky (F600), and colored the stamped image with Copic markers.  The sentiment is a combination of computer generating and brads from Eyelet Outlet

The frame is a lot of layered pieces.  It is an SVG cutting file from My Scrap Chick. The designer paper is from Echo Park - Bark Collection.  Ribbon is 3 Girl JAM. Flowers are also Eyelet Outlet

My friend is getting her piece of artwork tomorrow.  I hope she likes it.  I sure enjoyed creating it for her!

A Dollhouse for Julia Spiri

It's time for a new challenge on the Julia Spiri Challenge blog.  This one will run for a month, and we are veering far away from Christmas.    Our theme this month is "Dollhouse".  This can be interpreted in a variety of ways, as you can see from visiting the Julia Spiri Challenge blog and seeing what other DT members did.

Here is my interpretation:

I used Julia Spiri's The Birds and Hair on this house-shaped card.  I colored her with Copic markers, then fussy cut her out.  The house shaped card is an SVG file from My Scrap Chick.  I used the Country Village Small House Box, but chose to make it into a card instead.  Papers are from Echo Park.

I hope you join us this next month at the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog for our Doll House challenge.  I'd LOVE to see what you make!

Framed 'S' in Fall Colors

It's Friday, and I'm posting for Polkadoodle's Challenge blog, where a new challenge starts today.  For the next 2 weeks, show us your Autumn colors.

I tried some things I've never attempted before on today's project:

The 'S', from Polkadoodles, is one of the new coloring pages.  This is Adult Coloring Pages, Alphabet 1.  I colored it with Copic markers. The designer paper on the top layer of the frame is from the Rose Budd Craft Collection Download. It's available in CD, too.

The frame is an SVG cutting file from My Scrap Chick.  It took a few sheets of card stock, and a bunch of pop dots to construct it.

The butterfly is a die from Cheery Lynn.  The tie dye ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.   The bling is from Close To My Heart.

So, this was my first time using the new, awesome adult coloring pages from Polkadoodles, and the first time I've used these frames from My Scrap Chick.

Please join us the next 2 weeks for our Fall Colors challenge at Polkadoodles Challenge Blog.   I'd love to see what you make!

Good Friends are God's Blessings

Woohoo hoo!  It's Friday!  I'm blessed enough to be sharing on the 3 Girl JAM blog today, and it's also time for a new challenge on the QKR Stampede blog.  I'm sharing a card that works for both companies.  I don't often combine posts, but this card is just too cute!  This week's challenge theme at QKR Stampede is "I'm Thankful For".  I'm thankful for many things, and especially my good friends.  They get me through a lot!

I used 2 QKR Stampede digis on this card:  "Good Friends" (digi15808) for the sentiment and "Best Friends" (digi23502) for the image.  I colored the image with Copic markers.
The easel card is from My Scrap Chick. Papers are from Close To My Heart.
To  me, what really makes the card, is the crinkle ribbon that matches the image perfectly.  That is from 3 Girl JAM.  I used Goblin Green from the Spooky Bundle and combined it with Ice Blue from the Hot and Cold Bundle.  I used my 3 Girl JAM Bow maker  to make that double bow.

You can buy these products yourself, for a discount, at 3 Girl JAM. Used coupon code JO10 for 10% off of anything in the store.  Then, make something pretty and enter it in the "I'm Thankful For" challenge at QKR Stampede.  I don't know about you, but it would take me a loooooooong time to count all MY blessings!

It's a Snow Day! for Amy Doodle's Stamp Co.

I have the perfect card to share with you today.  We're in the middle of the first major winter storm of the season -- schools are closed all over, travel is terrible, and the snow lovers are having a ball!
This snow family is right in season here in NW WI, and aren't they stylin'?

This digi is from Amy Doodle's Stamp Company.  It's called, appropriate, "Snow Family". The sentiment, and several others, comes with the stamp. I colored the image with Copic markers.
The easel card is a cutting file from My Scrap Chick.  Papers are all from Close To My Heart. The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.
You can get your own snowman stamp FOR FREE by joining the Amy Doodle Stamp Co. Facebook page.  Then, enter the coloring contest.  Winners will be chosen at random, and you could win 2 MORE digis!  You have until Nov. 17.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Cuppa, Anyone?

Happy Monday, crafty friends!  I'm hostessing today on the Digital Delights blog -- a first for me, so I'm really excited! I'm sharing a technique I like to use often -- making a card shape that imitates the shape of the image I am highlighting.
Today, I chose to work with Teacup Slippy, available in the Digital Delights by Louby Loo store, along with many other wonderful Christmas and Winter images, if you want to get a jumpstart on your Christmas cards.
Here's my teacup shaped card:

Pull out the tab, and out slips Teacup Slippy...

ta da!
I colored Teacup Slippy with Copic markers.
The image is available in both uncolored and colored versions.

The teacup shaped card cut file is from My Scrap Chick.
The designer paper on the card is from Close To My Heart.  The ribbon and brad are from Paper Wishes.
I hope this idea inspires you to try your own shaped card theme.  The possibilities are limitless!

It's Canning Season!

Hello, and happy Friday!  It's canning season here in my neck of the woods.  I don't can, but I sure love it when my friends do, and bring me some canned goods.  It seems you can can just about anything -- pickles, beets, watermelon, peaches, green beans, even venison.  I have a fondness for canning jars, so I've loved these canning jar files from My Scrap Chick for a long time now.  They were one of the first files I ever bought from the company.  Combine them with some 3 Girl JAM ribbon, and these could win blue ribbons at the fair!

I used the My Scrap Chick Canning Jars/Preserves cutting files. There are 3 different patterns.  I used 2 of them.  On two of the cards, I added some Gold Crown 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon from the Royal Bundle
Here's a couple of close ups:

On this second card, I used a Unity Stamp of the Week for the sentiment.
The papers for these cards are a retired pack from Close To My Heart.  I thought they worked well for these canning jars.
Today is my last post for My Scrap Chick.  I have very much enjoyed working with their incredible files.  This may be my last design team project, but you will definitely see more My Scrap Chick files on my blog.  I love their files as much now as I did when I first discovered them.  They are a great company.  And, I don't have to tell you how much I LOVE 3 Girl JAM ribbon!

Hello, Dear Friend

Hello, dear friend, and happy Friday!  I have a special card to share with you today, using an adorable My Scrap Chick file and some beautiful 3 Girl JAM lace and ribbon:

This is Belle Bird, and I think My Scrap Chick named her right! She is so stylin' with that hat!  But, I felt she needed something really special to put those feet on, and that's where 3 Girl JAM came to the rescue!  She's standing on some flower die cut ribbon (with some patterned paper peeking through.  Behind that is some  3 Girl JAM Distress Lace, so this bird is walking on true luxury!
Papers are from Echo Park.  The sentiment is a Close To My Heart stamp.
I had a great time making this fun card! I hope she makes you smile!

Surf's Up! For My Scrap Chick

Hello, and happy Friday, crafty friends!  It's summertime -- surfin', sippin' cold drinks, enjoying the waves.  Today's project for My Scrap Chick features all of these summertime things:

This surfin' penguin is celebrating warm weather! Doesn't he look like he's having fun, hanging ten?
I sized him to fit on a standard A2 card front, and used various papers from the Fancy Pants Summer Soul 6x6 Paper pad.  The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM. It's the Coral Crush from the Caribbean Splash Bundle.  The "LOL!" sentiment is from a retired Close To My Heart stamp set.
Like this adorable penguin, I'm going to Live Out Loud the rest of this summer!
Don't forget to visit My Scrap Chick for other wonderful cutting files -- and there's always a Friday Freebie!  There's something for anything you can imagine!

Strawberry Pocket Card -- for My Scrap Chick

Ah yes, strawberry season!  One of my favorite times of the year.  I can't seem to get enough fresh, locally grown berries.  And the season is in full-swing right now.  Those wonderful, sweet berries were the inspiration behind this card that I made today for My Scrap Chick.

This card is a pocket card, and is part of a kit from My Scrap Chick called "Strawberry Patch".  I love pocket cards!  They go together quickly, and are a nice little surprise for the recipient.  Why?  Because of the pocket, of course!

There's a great place to write your message on the face of the strawberry, and it's not at all what the recipient was expecting when they opened the envelope.
The sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company.  It is one of the Stamp of the Week sets. Papers are from Pebbles 12x12 Tree House Collection. The 2 half pearls are from my stash.
My Scrap Chick has been having great sales!  This whole collection was on sale for $1.00! -- 3D strawberry treat box, this pocket card, a handmade "2 sweet 4 words" card, strawberry shaped hang tags, and 2 sheets of printable words for the tags.  Keep watching, and you'll find lots of great stuff you just HAVE to HAVE!
I'm off to have a bowl of strawberries!  Enjoy your day!

I'm still guest designing at Fitztown, and yesterday I had a chance to work with a brand new release!  It was so much fun!!  I worked on some coloring skills, challenging myself in ways I haven't tried before!  Today, there's an Anything Goes Challenge, and my card is a part of the inspiration on the Fitztown Challenge Blog. I'm excited and honored it's being showcased!
And here it is:

The newly released stamp is called "Bridal Wedding Day 1" and can be found in the Fitztown Etsy Store.  I colored the bride with Copic markers, then created an easel card to showcase her.
The Square Frills Easel Card is from My Scrap Chick. I cut it out using my Silhouette Cameo.  The papers are from Close To My Heart, as is the rhinestone button and the sentiment stamp.  The crinkle ribbon is 3 Girl JAM.
It is the Iris ribbon from the Spring Flowers Bundle.
Here's another view that shows the easel a bit better:

Let Your Dreams Set Sail! for My Scrap Chick

It seems I'm drawn to frogs and umbrellas lately.  Maybe it's the unusually rainy weather we're having, or the thousands of frogs I hear croaking from the lake across the road every evening.  They're so loud, some nights it's hard to fall asleep -- but in a good way, if that makes sense?!?
The rain and those frogs were the inspiration behind today's card for My Scrap Chick:

Just two frogs, sailing along in their own patriotic umbrella. Since it's so close to July 4th, I thought they might as well be Patriotic on their sailing adventure!
This My Scrap Chick cutting file is called "Rainy Day Kids" and it has some delightful patterns to cut out.  I cut this card out on my Silhouette Cameo.  I used designer papers from We R Memory Keepers.  The sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company.  The enamel dots are from My Mind's Eye.  All solid color card stock is from Close To My Heart.
Here's a closeup of the sentiment:

I have a giveaway going on, celebrating several events: I wrote my 500th blog post yesterday, I'm close to 400 followers on my blog, and I have 100 "likes" on my Facebook page, Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers.  To celebrate all those things,  I'm having a giveaway:  I have some Timeless Twine, some 3 Girl JAM ribbon, a Unity stamp set, a Close To My Heart stamp set, some Pinque Peacock embellishments, a 6x6 paper pad, and various embellishments that I need a home for. I also have two generous sponsors:  DigiStamps4Joy is giving a $10 gift certificate to the store, and The Cutting Cafe is offering any 3 sets.  WOW! If you'd like to be eligible to win, please leave a comment on any of my blog posts between now and July 6.  I'll draw a winner on my birthday.  It's my day, and you get the present!  I'd also love it if you "like" my Facebook page and follow my blog, if you don't already.

A Patriotic Firefly? for My Scrap Chick

Looking for Unity Friends with Flair?  Please click here:
Hello, crafty friends.  It's Friday! And I'm posting today for My Scrap Chick.  I've always liked fireflies.  When I was growing up, we couldn't go barefoot until the fireflies were out, so they were a sure sign of summer. So, when I found this firefly pattern in the My Scrap Chick store, I got very excited! (it can be purchased separately, or part of the Bugs & Things & Dragonfly Wings set).  Since we're approaching Independence Day, I made it a Patriotic firefly.  Why not?

The flag the firefly is holding is from the  My Scrap Chick Patriotic Family set.  The design of the card uses a sketch from My Scrap Chick Card Essentials Volume 2.
Papers for this card are from We R Memory Keepers (designer paper) and Close To My Heart (card stock).  The sentiment is from Close To My Heart.
I hope this puts you in a patriotic mood!  God bless America!
