Pages from Sketchbook 26

Mixed media - the scissors - a fun foam handmade stamp, I also used a liner pen and brusho inks.

I was inspired by wrapping paper for the painting above.
I cut some of the jars from the wrapping paper for the collage below and stacked them on shelves.

Below - messing with a shape.

Below - collage on pen and paint background.

These were originally zentangle graphs which I cut up and rearranged.

Bye bye ...

More pages from Sketchbook 26

I like to practice drawing faces now and then.

I used one fat multi coloured pencil for the grass and tree.

I used a range of media for this one including pens, watercolours, brush, wax crayons..

Six pages from Sketchbook 26 [Brusho]

Quick doodles and paintings from my sketchbook. I used Brusho colours for these - if you have not used Brusho's they come in powder form and are mixed with water. A little goes a long way but they do stain and being the messy person that I am, I usually have dirty fingers for a few hours. I make up little bottles ready to use, I find I don't make quite as much mess that way.

also pen and a collaged ticket

also an orange biro - cheers!

a biscuit cutter for the shape and wax crayon

I painted the flowers separately and collaged them on the background.  also used a pen, wax crayon and textured on the background and promarkers on the flowers.

Robin and Doodles

A robin created on a tablet, a Samsung galaxy note, with a photograph for a background.

Two pages from sketchbook 26, I used promarker pens for the one above and brusho inks and pen for the picture below. I also textured the page with newspaper.

Sketchbook Pages

One page from sketchbook 26 - patterns with pens, probably promarkers. This sketchbook is A4 size while the pictures below are from a smaller sketchbook [8x5"], a moleskine. The moleskine [no 30] has much better paper than the book above. I can't remember what make the book above is...but it was cheap. And as I fill a lot of books, cheap sometimes wins over quality. The one thing I do like about it though is that it is bigger than the moleskine. Also with a cheap book I don't mind ripping the odd page out if the drawing is too awful but I wouldn't like to that with the moleskine.

Pages from Sketchbook 26

The shapes on these two pages were made with biscuit cutters, I drew around them. I've shown these pages before as backgrounds when they didn't have faces and details.

The page below shows a collection of little sketches - I was trying to get motivated for a contest on Spoonflower to do with the zodiac - I didn't take it any further, it just wasn't working for me.

Below - I tend to make patterns when I can't think of what else to draw.

This was also a background I've shown before, the flowery things on it are new.

Figure practise.

More patterns.

I think I did the date/numbers page early in the new year, guess I'm a bit behind on posting.

The sheet below was a zentangle challenge from the diva, challenge number 37. They are on number 107 now so I guess I did this a while ago too. Check out the site to see lots of excellent zentangles and information on how to do them.

Pages from Sketchbook 26

I've textured all the pages first with newspaper/magazine transfer, then applied watercolour over. I used liner pen, brush pens and promarker pens for the drawings on top.

Pages from sketchbook 26

I've had my mum staying this week so I've not got much to show you. These are pages from sketchbook 26,
most will be used as backgrounds. I added faces and buttons to the picture above digitally, I used a biscuit cutter for the body shape to draw around.
