Various Paintings

I drew one flower on my tablet then tried it with different colours in Photoshop on the computer.

I copied from a photo and made a blobby painting of my Grandson also on my tablet.

Another tablet painting, I put on the texture after transferring to the computer.

A flower in a doily was sketched on the tablet and coloured in Photoshop.

I'm trying to think of a new fabric/stitching project to do but the brain seems a bit dead.

Cut Work Book - Pages 31-37

Can you spot the faces on the pink one below?

Sketchbook 50
This book is for my collection of paper cuts. These were mainly designed on my tablet, transferred to the computer, then brought into 'Make the Cut' as a pixel trace and then cut with my cutting machine. The machine is a KNK Zing Air. I've used a variety of papers and card.

Another Rabbit Applique

I used another one of my stamps for the rabbit, stamped on fabric then over painted. The fabric below the rabbit is striped but it doesn't show up on my screen. Bits of fabric doilies are used for flowers. All hand stitched.

Rabbit Applique

I've started a new sketchbook, this one is for fabric work.
I used one of my recently made stamps for the rabbit, printed on fabric {I think it was lutradur}. The 'flowers' were cut from a large crochet doily.

Fifty Shades of White

I used all kinds of fabrics to make this, lace, doyleys, fabric samples, old tablecloth, embroidery samples, handkerchief, vertical blind samples etc
They were all hand stitched [running stitch] to a white background fabric.
I think it looks better in real life but you can get a better look by clicking on the images.
I'm thinking of making a cushion cover with it unless I come up with another idea.

Three pages from my sketchbook

Brusho inks. The strips of striped paper - this was paper I used to protect the next page in my sketchbook for quite a few pages, hence all the colours. The flowers are real.

Brusho and a small doyley.

Envelopes made from recycled envelopes, the envelopes have envelopes as decoration.
These are the last pages of book 36.

Kitchen Utensils

Another fabric contest, this one was titled kitchen utensils. I drew the utensils on my tablet and the doily background came from an old drawing.

Button Book - part 3

I used a mix of papers for this, one inkjet [my design], one artwork and the spotty was a found paper. I confess that the buttons aren't really buttons, they are faux buttons made from some recycled round foam [packaging?] and covered with my art work. I did a row of embroidery near the middle and used embroidery to hold two pages together.

On the other side is also a mix of papers, my art work to the left and some found papers to the right. The butterflies and flower paper was from a magazine and the spotty was wrapping paper. I painted a heart doily to go on top. The buttons were created from art work and clear buttons.

On this page is my artwork [stamped paper, I used a handmade rolling stamp], recycled gold Christmas hat, gold textured card, dyed lace and recycled buttons.
Once again stitched around the edges.

I'll start by saying that the colours do not look quite as they do in real life. I have used some painted and textured paper for the background. The lump in the middle is made from plastic and layered then painted [browns and various metallics on top], machine stitched and hand stitched. The buttons are bog standard recycled shirt buttons sewn on with metallic thread. I've couched some braid to the edges of the plastic.

Pink Book [part 2]

I recycled wallpaper samples for a lot of these pages,I used the plain wrong side for most of them. I painted them and used a texture plate [also made from wallpaper] and stamps and rolling stamps. On the page above I've recycled an inkjet print, which was also painted and textured. I used a punch for the circles and machine stitched over them. The flower petals were from a greetings card, the centres are art work, then stitched. The dress is a tag, digitally created and printed.

More wallpaper and inkjet prints. The rectangle of fabric is a miniature version of a repeat pattern  designed. The flowers I made from fabric and dyed pleated ribbon and I stuffed the centres.

As well as the wallpaper and inkjet there is a doily with stencilled art work on top, the little bow ribbon was from a greetings card, the other ribbon was from my stash and I dyed the lace. The ATC was made from layered, textured papers with honesty seed pods trapped between, then painted with acrylics and metallic crayon.

More painted wallpapers and the cat was from a greetings card. I've attached the butterfly sequins with beads. The card butterfly was from a greetings card.

More painted wallpapers and inkjet prints and decorative machine stitching. The owls and the row of hearts were from a greetings cards. I made the flowers from paper, painted and stitched them.

More painted wallpapers and a painted patterned doily. The bears were from a greetings card but I attached the flowers and ribbon.

Gifts for me!

I received some gifts today from a very talented lady in Russia called Masha. She made the beautiful doily and there was some squares of fabric and a large chocolate coin [she was hoping it would get here for Christmas]. I can crochet a little, the simple squares, but I've not been very successful at following a pattern. Masha also does embroidery and patchwork. Patchwork is another thing I'm not too good at either, I don't take enough care I think, but I will have to think of something nice to make with the squares.

The package has some interesting stamps on it too and I will use them for something or other.
Click here to see Masha's blog and her work.
