Tag and Doodlewash

 I felt like doing something a little different to what I've been doing lately so I did a tag for Tag Tuesday.

The theme at the moment is Tag on Tag.

I most often post on a Tuesday but I am early this week because I am expecting my mum and sister to stay from tomorrow so I'll probably not get a chance to do it.

Cozytober Challenge

I made the tag for a tagtuesday challenge and decided to use it as part of this challenge as the prompt was book. I stuck it in a book that I'm altering with art work. The page was lightly painted a a few bits of text from a gardening page were added.

I've finished the painting on the skirt. I used inktense blocks and pencils.

Tags

I thought I would join in with Tag Tuesday this week. Book prints are used for the tags this week. I've kept mine very simple. I used a page from a vintage shorthand dictionary and used a scrap I had kept from another project. It was part of a digital collage I printed.

I actually covered the other side too with the same page but also put a scrap from a vintage gardening book in the centre. I finished this one digitally with the owl and text.

Gift Exchange

I met up with the arty girls at the weekend for a meal out and exchange of handmade gifts and cards.

The lovelies I received were a box of cakes - these were made from paper and the lid lifted to reveal little presents - buttons, glitter, chocolate, washi tape.

A handmade book with various types of paper pages and a cover with real leaves. Also a hand cut bird tag.

A handmade book - this one is a weekly planner. Each page was personalized and printed with to do lists, diary, shopping list, doodles etc

A gift to come at a later date

I made and gave 3D layered pictures. Designed in my sketchbook, tweeked on the computer and cut on my Zing Air. I used various cards and papers and also painted the layers which were then put in shop bought frames with glass fronts. The glass made it difficult to photograph because of other things reflected in it. Three of the frames are white although they look blue, the other is black.

I found the dragons as clip art.

Christmas Tree Tag

I made this at a play day the other week. Well I didn't really make it, I just decorated it. Helen had pre-made the blank tags before we got there. Needs a hole and ribbon to finish.

Pink Book [part 2]

I recycled wallpaper samples for a lot of these pages,I used the plain wrong side for most of them. I painted them and used a texture plate [also made from wallpaper] and stamps and rolling stamps. On the page above I've recycled an inkjet print, which was also painted and textured. I used a punch for the circles and machine stitched over them. The flower petals were from a greetings card, the centres are art work, then stitched. The dress is a tag, digitally created and printed.

More wallpaper and inkjet prints. The rectangle of fabric is a miniature version of a repeat pattern  designed. The flowers I made from fabric and dyed pleated ribbon and I stuffed the centres.

As well as the wallpaper and inkjet there is a doily with stencilled art work on top, the little bow ribbon was from a greetings card, the other ribbon was from my stash and I dyed the lace. The ATC was made from layered, textured papers with honesty seed pods trapped between, then painted with acrylics and metallic crayon. 

More painted wallpapers and the cat was from a greetings card. I've attached the butterfly sequins with beads. The card butterfly was from a greetings card.

More painted wallpapers and inkjet prints and decorative machine stitching. The owls and the row of hearts were from a greetings cards. I made the flowers from paper, painted and stitched them.

More painted wallpapers and a painted patterned doily. The bears were from a greetings card but I attached the flowers and ribbon.

Page 4 - layered painted, stamped paper [recycled]. Stitched edges.

Collage - jug [painted book pages]. Dyed lace and trim, beads, card circles [hand crafted, painted].

Embroidery on hand painted/stamped recycled wipe. [Sailor stitch edging and French knots]

Page 5 - layered painted, stamped paper [recycled and book pages]. Stitched edges.

Mini hand made book with metallic thread machine embroidery decoration. Mono printed card with flower, stitched. Art button.

Heart tag [decorated purchased tag], section of recycled greetings card, paper napkin [tree], sequins, handmade card button, embroidery.

Green Book - Pages 37-45

Page 37,38- Leaf prints on paper [acrylics and watercolours]. I remember the day I did this, it was at a friends and she had found some great leaves for us to print with, I really like this page. {click on the images for a better look}

Page 39,40- Stencilled and stamped fabric, freehand machine embroidery.

Page 40- Brusho on paper[background layer], watercolour and metallic machine embroidery, handmade card button, cup [stamp made with foam and sharpie pen, machine embroidery], gems, flower.
