Another version of the tall cup

Another version of the wide and small cup. This one is collaged papers which were machine stitched. I'll probably not use this version for the book as the backside of the page is messy from the stitching.

Tea for Two Cushion and CPS Article

Another cushion for my conservatory. I used a tea towel for the background fabric and more of the fabrics that I used on the last cushion for the applique. After bonding and machine stitching, I hand embroidered around all parts using a variety of stitches.

I didn't have a photo of my article in Cloth Paper Scissors that I told you about yesterday but I took some today.

Can you spot the frog in the picture above and below?

There is no frog with the wolf, maybe he gobbled one up [do they eat frogs?]

I was sent this poem by email, thought it was cute, about a grandma and computer

 The computer swallowed grandma. 

 Yes, honestly it’s true!  

 she pressed 'control' and 'enter'  

 And disappeared from view. 

 It devoured her completely, 

 The thought just makes me squirm.

She must have caught a virus 

 Or been eaten by a worm.  

 I've searched through the recycle bin  

 And files of every kind;  

 I've even used the Internet,  

 But nothing did I find.  

 In desperation, I asked Jeeves     

 My searches to refine.  

 The reply from him was negative,  

 Not a thing was found 'online.'     

 So, if inside your 'Inbox,'  

 My Grandma you should see,  

 Please 'Copy, Scan' and  'Paste' her

 And send her back to me.  

  

   

 This is a tribute to all  the Grandmas and Grandpas who have been fearless and learned to use the computer.........   

 They are the  greatest!!!         

      

 We do not stop playing because we grow old;

The coffee adverts were from a book entitled 'How it all began in the pantry'. The figures were from the book 'Women: a pictorial archive from Nineteenth century sources'.

This was a very quick sketch so its not anatomically correct [he has a very strange arm] but I thought I'd keep him anyway. 

For the Sketchbook Challenge the theme for August is 'everyday objects', and I chose to sketch cups. I saw a photo I liked which I copied, but I changed the decoration on the cups.

Leafy Doodle & Illustration Friday

Illustration Friday challenge this week is 'breakfast'. I thought this old one from a sketch book would be ok as I probably wouldn't get a new sketch done this week.

Have a nice cup of tea, coffee or something cold if it's warm. I don't actually drink tea because I don't like the taste, but I do like drawing cups and t-pots!

Snakes, Ladders and T-Pots

I've been drawing a lot of snakes recently, and this picture combines them and a lot of the other things I draw regularly such as t-pots, cups, games related items, cakes and flowers.

I bought a new sketching pen the other day but it wasn't till the next day when I was eating my breakfast that I realised I had not seen it since I got home. I searched my re-usable bags - not there. I remembered it was in a plastic bag, one which I had used to put some food in the freezer, and it was there, in the bag, in the freezer. I let it thaw out, and yes it does still work!
