After spending a couple of days in Omaha, Madeline and I and the rest of the Handschy gang loaded up and drove to Arvada, CO to spend a few days with our grandparents. Arvada is a suburb of Denver, and one of the best of ice cream shops in the Denver area, Scrumptious, has a location in Arvada. Madeline and I have both been there before and have had nothing but amazing ice cream, so we were excited for the opportunity to stop by again. So the MO on Scrumptious is they do simple flavors, some unique, some more traditional, with a high quality base. Yeah, they don't do a ton of crazy mix-ins, but they make damn good ice cream. Like 10% overrun good. And clearly a high butter fat percentage. Also they give you HUGE portions for the price. Sometimes ice cream bloggers disappear into the wilderness aka go on backpacking trips. And like a bear preparing for hibernation, said ice cream bloggers eat a lot of ice cream in preparation. However, then they are left in a lurch with a lot of ice cream to review and no way to write the reviews. So prepare yourselves for an onslaught of reviews in the next couple of days. Unfortunately I was not able to visit my grandparents when Madeline and my dad did. I got multiple text messages about the delicious sounding ice cream they were eating and I was quite jealous. However, my turn to get ice cream at Scrumptious came, and obviously I had to out do Madeline. So I got ice cream from Scrumptious twice in two days. Ha. I'm currently in Arvada, Colorado visiting my grandparents. Obviously, any time I go anywhere, I make sure to visit an ice cream shop.  Scrumptious  is located in Olde Town Arvada.  I didn't know this going in, but Scrumptious is a micro creamery (Lizzy gives you the definition  here ) and was voted Denver's best ice cream.  These two facts help explain the excellent experience I had yesterday afternoon.
