Ben and Jerry's SNL Flavor: Gilly's Catastrophic Crunch

I know I am a little late on the uptake that only now I am reviewing one of Ben and Jerry's scoop shop exclusive SNL flavors. However, you've gotta cut me some slack seeing as I now live, like, two and a half hours away from a Ben and Jerry's scoop shop. Many people fairly say the the golden age of Saturday Night Live is looong gone. However, anyone would acknowledge that Kristen Wiig is one of the few gems of the late 2000s early 2010s SNL. Her characters are fabulous. Although Target Lady is my favorite Kristen Wiig character (because I think only Target Lady matches my deep passion for that heavenly place), you gotta love a good Gilly skit! Here!! Ben and Jerry's Everything But the ...

This.  This is Ben and Jerry's at their absolute finest.  You have heard Lizzy and me talk about the signature Ben and Jerry's chunk in the past, and if you want a quintessential, chunk-tastic Ben and Jerry's experience, look no further than Everything But the ...  I mean, just look at the picture below. This ice cream is described as A collision of chocolate & vanilla ice cream mixed with peanut butter cups, fudge-covered toffee pieces, white chocolatey chunks and fudge-covered almonds. The chocolate/vanilla combo is great (gotta love the swirl).  I think a totally chocolate base would make this ice cream too overwhelming, but a totally vanilla base would be overwhelmed by all the mix-ins.  The swirl gives the mix-ins a stage upon which they shine.
