spring flowers origami guts book with stitched vellum liner and cover

Are your May flowers blooming?  If not, never fear, we've got plenty of spring blooms here at Altered Pages!   These blush beauties inspired my latest little book.  It has an origami pocket center signature, with a vellum stitched liner and heavy cardstock cover.   If you're interested in instructions for the origami guts, you'll find them HERE .  You can see that the inside of the pocket pages was white, but I lined them with deli paper gel plate  prints:   You can see I added ink and stamping and some spray inks to the cover and origami signature. To add vellum and cover, sandwich the signature, vellum, and cover together, clamping them all together, open, with clothespins.  Cradle the spine of the papers in the open center of a phone book or magazine, and poke a hole using a pokey tool or darning needle about 1 inch from the top and bottom of the folded spine.   Then, using a darning needle threaded ...

a tiny life primer

The cover of this tiny book is made from a bit leftover from the same backgrounds as the fairy trio . The cover has a bit of texture, thanks to an embossing folder , highlighted with my favorite Delicata gold ink.  All of the images are from the Mailbox Muse ATC stamp set: (If you are interested in the construction, there is a link on my blog to the binding method.)  Thank you for stopping by, and have a wonderful Thursday!   :)trisha

Colors of the Season Challenge

Yes, it's time for another fun challenge here at Altered Pages! This months theme is " Colors of the Season "... Now that's not to say it's only red and green for Christmas but it could be whatever the season means to you.   For me though I did stick with red and green because Christmas rules our home in December!  I love the whole deal, the lights, baking, being with family, the tree, singing, etc....   It's always been a big part of our year even when I was a kid.   So here is the project that I was inspired to make...     I started off with the book covers which are the 2"x2" pieces of Eco Board .  Great little pieces for making books, jewelry, embellishments and so much more!   I then added pieces of the Hello December line of paper and Chevron Tape from Glitz on each page plus various images from the Holiday Postcards collage sheet plus a little holiday poem from my collection and ended up with this little boo...
