A Christmas List as a gift

Nothing much sweeter than to read a Child's Christmas List filled with magical requests. This project is simple but can have lasting memories of childhood Christmases.    Even adults can have fun with it too! Supplies; Large wooden spools Decor papers Security Paper Aleenes glue Brayer Double side Tape Twine Ribbon Flowers  (if desired) Lace or Ribbon Trim Reinker Kai Scissors Cutting tool like a Fiskars rotary or straight edge cutter and a ruler. ***** First you can paint or leave the spool natural, I chose to age mine with some ink and allow to dry while you cut your paper.    Measure for your spool size and cut a strip at least 12 inches long, you can add lengths by attaching with double-sided tape. I would not use wet glue as it may warp the papers. A glue stick would work as well. ***** You will cut two papers, one decorative for the 'outside' and one nonpatterned paper for writing the list. The Crafters Workshop makes it happen!

Play with textures? The Crafters Workshop stencils are one of the best ways to do so! Our Halloween Children collage allows these kids to walk in the spooky woods! Will they get treats or be tricked?  As a kid were there spooky woods near your house?  There was near mine, in the daylight we would play and have a great time, but at night, well, that was a different story.   To walk home alone from a friends house could be a frightening time.  Noises and shapes in the shadows made it a quick trip for sure!   I coated my substrate with Gesso Aspen Trees stencil by Victoria Case  makes for a splendid background.  In the finished piece I did a background of Orange Slice heavy body acrylic with the overlay of Kale Smoothie. (green+orange=brown). The torn corrugated was randomly coated with TCW Kale Smoothie acrylic and another random application of Quinactridone interference.  (see the glow from the quinactridone) ...

Popcicles, Bandaids and Moms

We wish everyone the Happiest Mother's Day Mom's come in all styles, stay at home, single parents, working women, aunts, grandmas and more.  All women deserve some love and thanks for all they do for children all over the world. Mother's Day wasn’t officially added as a national holiday until 1914. You have Anna Jarvis to thank for making it happen.  Anna sought to honor her recently deceased mother and provide a way for families to spend time together. She started a media campaign, got financial backing, sharing the idea that women deserved recognition on the National Holiday Calendar.   Her vision for a holiday involved mother’s wearing white carnations as a badge of honor, families spending extra time together and attending church services.  Taking it another step, t o Honor Living and Dead Mothers. Carnations  of different colors can indicate whether you are showing your love and respect for a mother who is alive ...

Happiest of Mothers Days

NO WORK, just pretty images and good thoughts for you all.... Mothers are Angels that take care of us They feed us from their love. They rarely get a free moment, but love it when they do They must be ready for ANYTHING at a moments notice Mothers must be flexible ALL THE TIME They rarely worry about themselves... . Moms must be able to throw together a costume at 11pm, for tomorrow. Mothers always have to multitask! Moms set good examples on how to entertain Moms teach their daughters to be fashion conscious, less is more. Moms teach their sons to be good men MOST OF ALL, MOM IS LOVE Have a lovely day!
