For the love of horses

Today's project is a card for anyone who loves horses.  This card is full of textures and earth tones.  And it all begins with a sheet of leather texture paper from USArt Quest.  This heavily textured paper is two-sided.  One side is dark brown and the other is lighter with a hint of orange to it.  My second layer is another handmade paper from USArt Quest and has a stitched pattern, which said Wild West to me.  I brought out my mica tiles, some German Scrap and collage images. I chose to use the Vintage Horses collage sheet.  Horses are such beautiful animals and appeal to almost everyone, which makes this card a great choice for either a man or a woman. To decide which color of the leather paper I wanted to use, I laid a strip of the embroidered paper across strips of each side for comparison. Batty Good Bookmark

I love to read and during the Halloween season I read as many "spooky" books as I can.  Every year I create a new bookmark to use for the season and thought it would be fun to use one of the collage sheets from Altered Pages  for this year's.  It's been a while since I used my Gelli plate so I got it out and found my bottle of black paint to create the background.   When Jean sent me the Black or White Cat collage sheet (2180) I knew I wanted to add some of it to a tag  as a cut out to create my bookmark so I chose the girl on the broomstick to be the focal point of my creation and then added the 3 bats from the collage sheet to add some more spookiness.   This is how it turned out.  I'm already excited to use it this Halloween season to hold my place in my book.   If you like to read, as I do, be sure to take the time to create a bookmark to enjoy as you are reading yo...
