Mi Enamorado

With Valentine's Day just around the corner I could not resist making a card for my first project this month.  I know Valentines are usually red or pink but we are celebrating green this month and Sabor Papel has a beautiful green design in their Amor collection.  Because green is not a traditional Valentine color, this design would also make a terrific anniversary card. Supplies: Sabor Papel Amor Collection - paper and embellishment cut outs Young Lovers II collage sheet Gold Glam Sticker Corners Gel Xtreme PEN gold Adhesive Memento Tear Drop ink pad Sponge Dauber Choose which part of the background you wish to use. Ink the edges of each piece just to hide the white paper core.  I also sponged ink around the background about 1/4 - 1/2 inch from the edges. I cut into the design to separate the two leaves and the two large roses so that the other elements could be interwoven.  I just touched up the cut area with a pink marker ...

Mariachi Scrapbook Page

May the Fiesta last all year long!!  What does a combination of Sabor papers, an adorable Mariachi skeleton stamp, a cute set of mariachi kiddos, and tons of mixed media texture add up to? My favorite scrap page yet! Now, how festive and cute-as-a-button is this?! Here is my abbreviated supply list: Mariachi Rubber stamp    Circles Background Rubber Stamp    Sabor Papel  -assorted scraps Stencils Embellishments   -trim, embossing powder, flowers, leaves, mini clothespin, etc... Paper    Mediums and Gesso    Ink and Mists    Paints    Adhesives    That's just the beginning of what you can use. Destash people! I grabbed a textured 12x12 paper that was handy. I gessoed over for a great surface to work on. It cuts down on warping. I mixed my inks, chose some sprays and I was off and crafting. I needed a few layers of texture as my foundation. Scra...

Card and Matching Tag

Hello everyone.  The Altered Pages design team is sharing some fun projects using stamps from this month's sponsor,  Rubber Stamp Depot .  Their stamps are beautiful and deeply etched red rubber.  There is even a  coordinating set  to match the beautiful  Sabor Papel  paper, which I am also using today.  I decided to make a card and matching tag with these beautiful papers and two of the stamps from the  coordinating set  .  Let's start with the card.  I stamped the two heart stamps onto separate pieces of  eco board  with  Black Stazon Midi ink .   I used the three Gelato colors shown below with a water brush to color the stamped eco board images.  I was trying to match the  Recuerdos Amor  paper color.  The Gelatos make easy work of this and blend beautiful with the  Water Brush . I filled in the background of each eco board piece with the pink Gela...

Cinco de Mayo Party Invitation

Happy Monday, everyone!  I hope your week is off to a good start.  Here, at  Altered Pages , we are getting ready for Cinco de Mayo using our newest addition to the Altered Pages store, the gorgeous  Sabor Papel  papers and embellishments.  In  my previous post , I shared a fun, bright fan to help keep the Summer heat at bay.  Today, I want to share a brilliant Cinco de Mayo invitation to send out to friends for your very own celebration! I cut out a lacy tri-fold card using my electronic die cut machine.  You can always make a straight edged tri-fold card, but I like the fancy top.  Decorative punches could also be used.  Use what you have. Cut colorful card stock layers to match colors in the Sabor Papel papers.  I also cut half circle pieces to place behind the lacy top sections of my card.  Adhere half circle pieces with  Zig 2-Way Glue Pen  behind lacy openings on card inside. Adhere cu...
