Creating cards inch by inchies

Happy Friday!   It’s Robin here and Altered Pages is enjoying a month-long partnership with IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko .   Our team has been having fun with the inks and other crafting supplies they have provided and their team has been creating with Altered Pages images and ephemera.   Remember to leave comments here all during June to be entered into a drawing for a great prize package! My project today features IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko StazOn Spiced Chai ink and is highlighted with one of their cool metal tags.   You probably saw Ink Stained Roni’s amazing house pendant made with one of their metal ATCs.   This is the same product but much smaller.   At 1” square it is the perfect complement to these cool wood squares I found in the hardware bin at my local big box hardware store. What do you do with 1” metal and wooden squares?   Inchies, of course!!    printed the Inchies Beauty collage sheet on matte photo pape...

Do dragonflies dream of Neon?

Don’t you love fresh, new ink pads?   They are full of new possibilities.  These IMAGINE Craft / Tsukineko Radiant Neon ink pads come in a bright rainbow of colors and they are fun!   Altered Pages is partnering with this wonderful company in June.  I was playing around with these colors and wanted to see how they looked on black paper.   Most inks soak into the black and are difficult to see.   I sponged a little yellow on the scrap and an idea was born.   Using a card-sized panel of plain white cardstock, I tore V-shaped area out of the bottom to act like a template.   Then I sponged in layers of Electric Yellow, Electric Orange and Electric blue in an arc pattern.   A spiral foam stamp from my collection was used to stamp the sun and more Electric Yellow was sponged in to it   to make it a solid shape.   A Q-Tip was used to draw in the sun's rays.  After removing the paper template, I sponged some Elect...

MR. STEAMPUNK

Hi there, Francine again with my Blog post for the month of June! I decided to make an oversized Tag with a Steampunk theme.   Perfect for Father's Day. I stamped the tag with the Male Steampunk deeply etched Red Rubber Stamp from AlteredPages .  I used  IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko  Memento Luxe inkpad in the Pistachio color for the gentleman. Yummy & luscious to work with. I then  distressed the tag with  Memento Luxe Peanut Brittle ink.  Stamped the  Steampunk Top Hat  with Memento Luxe Peanut Brittle,  fancy cut the hat and placed it on the man's head, adding glitter to it, of course!  He has a gear on one eye for improved technical viewing!   A monocle, timepiece and other embellishments were added with paper from the Glitz paper pack, Laced with Grace , creating a  border.  On top of the tag is a round Steampunk embellishment and a chain that hangs over the top of the tag. This was so ...

Hi Everyone!  It's Danie here today.  As you know this month we are teaming up with IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko so I have a little Mermaid Card to share that features the use of their Memento Markers in four ways.  Often we only think of using our Dye Ink based Markers for Coloring but they are much more versatile than that. IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko Memento Markers Peanut Brittle, Nautical Blue and Pistachio, IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko Staz On Midi Blue Hawaii Ink.  Other: Pastel Pink Marker, Embossing Folder, Foam Dots. 1.  Memento Markers - Watercolor Wash The background for my card was created using the Watercolor Wash Technique and an Embossing Folder.   Taking my three colors of Memento Markers I scribbled color onto a plastic she...

JUNE 1 IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko Partners!

We have been waiting for this day!   IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko has the most fantastic line of products .   We at AlteredPages are proud to carry many of the Tsukineko items in our inventory.   This month will be amazing and worth seeing each day on both Blogs.   We will link to IMAGINE Crafts Blog , so please visit daily to see the incredible projects from the IMAGINE Crafts Design Team led by John Creighton Petersen. I had so much fun deciding what to do.   I experimented with some products I had not used and will share weekly with you what I come up with.  I have another project started already and will work to complete it in steps for your viewing. My first weekly item is a monoprint collage.   I played with fun foam and RADIANT NEON ink pads.   I liberally coated the fun foam with RADIANT NEON ink several times in two colors (electric orange and electric yellow). I also added the Delicata Gold Glitz reinker simply dropped onto the fo...

Mermaid Tag Art

Hello from Michigan!   As you know, during the month of May, the Altered Pages Design Team and the Eileen Hull Designs Artist Trading Block Design Team have been bringing you some pretty awesome projects every Tuesday and Thursday.    I hope you’ve been enjoying them!!   There is only one more week in May so be sure to stop by next week for a few more fun ATBs!   Today I have a fun tag project for you that was made with the Mailbox Muse Mermaid kit that recently came in the mail.   The kits are filled with beautiful scrapbook papers, printed collage sheets, rubber stamps and lots of beautiful embellishments.   If you stopped by the Muse Facebook page last week you saw my little teaser pic…   Isn’t she beautiful?   What a fantastic inspiration!   So, let’s go! I chose to work with a large tag so that the whole mermaid image could be used on a vertical project.   I used IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko inks for this projec...

Fashionable Femmes!

Glue books are a lot of fun to create!  The Arched Door Blank Board Book  at Altered Pages is be a perfect book to make one! I am creating a book that is some where between a glue book and a lot of mini collages.    The Arched Door Blank Board Book  is the base for my "Fashionable Femmes" book.  During May I will be sharing it as I create pages in it! First, ink the edges of the book with Tsukineko StazOn Midi Spiced Chai.  Cut the pattern paper to fit the front of the book and ink edges. Adhere pattern paper to the book.  Using the inkjet, print the Altered Pages Collage Sheet  ATC Decorative Boarders  and Architecture on Craft Attitude™ printable film. Layer one of the   ATC Decorative Boarders  over the image of woman from  Color Pink ATC's sing glue stick on the printed side of the film. Cut the column for the Archticture collage sheet.  Attach images to book cover...
