Merry Altered Christmas Jean!

Each member of the Altered Pages Design Team created a page for  this beautiful book that was given to Jean Moore.   Jean has been a dream to work with and very generous with the team.  She works  hard to provide our team with awesome companies to partner with.    As thank you for all she has done and continues to do for our design team...     MERRY ALTERED CHRISTMAS JEAN!   We thank you, Jean, from our Altered Artistic Hearts! Cover by Lyneen Jesse A lot of behind the scenes chatter went on... hidden from Jean for about 2 months.  When planning we decided on the theme of "Women"!  Each person had a different take on the theme, making their page and art unique to the artist!  Links have been provided to the Designers blogs to see posts on their personal blogs.    Lyneen - Dance (inside cover)   Barbara Rankin - Strong   Barbara Ranki...

Fat Book Sticker Fun

Good Morning everyone!! Today I'm sharing with you this easy fat book page that is made with the fabulous 3D stickers and Giant Rhinestones [with sticker backs] from Glitz--which also happens to be on SALE in the store today!!!  I started with a 4×4" piece of cardboard [standard size for a fat book] and layered on paper, ink and stamps. Then I used some of the fabulous 3D stickers. They are layered with foam and then also have a bit of sparkle on them. Something fun I discovered while working with them is that the 2nd layer is actually on a sticker backing...so when I decided to used the raised piece only of the sentiment strip I was able to just peel that off [I used my piercing too to help separate the paper from the card stock sticker] and the adhesive on the back of that layer was enough to glue down the sentiment firmly to my fat book page! The yellow roses are also done in that fashion...I simply peeled them off their backing and stuck them down!  I finished off...

Celebrate Derby Days with hand-colored collage sheets!

The above Derby Day Fat Book collage was created using the 111D Vintage Hats Collage sheet and the  1025D Vintage Horses Collage Sheet . Both Sheets were printed using the BLACK ONLY option on the printer to give "black and white" images to colorize. I found that using my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Based Markers to color these images--you will notice the horse in the middle is originally brown on the collage sheet and our lovely lady had a white shirt and a tea colored beverage. The background was a  Bazzill Antiques Pad Dictionary Page  and the alphabet letters were from Graphic 45. After coloring the images, I layered the pieces onto the fat book chipboard and used Antique Matte Mod Podge. Once dry I smeared on some brown pigment ink and heat set the color. Want 2 Scrap Pink Pearl Bling finished off the piece.  I hope you enjoy my Derby Day Fat Book Collage! Thank you for looking!
