οὐκ... λανγ̂γρεεκ>ὃς κτἑ.: here appears the irrelevance of Protagoras's contention in 350 c f. See on 351 b, l. 61.
θαρραλέα: “matters in which one can be θαρραλέος.” Cf. Rep. v. 450 e τἀληθῆ εἰδότα λέγειν ἀσφαλὲς καὶ θαρραλέον, Lach. 194 e (τὴν ἀνδρείαν φησὶν εἶναι) τὴν τῶν δεινῶν καὶ θαρραλέων ἐπιστήμην, 198 b.
