I enjoyed seeing the rain fall in the pool

Prepped the room for New Years Eve party

Snack spread
black coat rack hung across from closet
set-up of living room (without Christmas trees and black book cases)
I put out glow stick packs, and blowers and glasses.

Opened the box of chocolates, from scholar

We enjoyed pizza from Papa Johns (gift card from scholar) and soda and snacks

Table after the fun. We played Outburst and Balderdash and Apples to Apples. Abby left partway through to go to a youth activity before the New Years Eve youth dance. Ross worked on his lesson and the girls and I watched some Studio C skits. I will go pick up Abby and she will drive Sydney and then us home.

December update for Schmidt Family Newsletter

In December Abby played in several basketball tournaments, Allen had a band concert, Jane and Emma and Jill had a choir concert, and the twins also had a band concert. We had a wonderful Christmas. Our whole family was involved during the Christmas Sacrament meeting service-- Ross and I sang in the ward choir, Jill sang with the primary, and the others sang in the youth musical number. After years and years of renting for Christmas we surprised the kids with pets --- we adopted two guinea pig brothers named Jerry and Nibbles. Things at courthouse really slow down at Christmas so Ross had over a week off of work. We caroled to all of our new neighbors, saw Christmas lights, did some home organizing, relaxing/playing at home, re-stained/waxed our kitchen table, hosted a dinner with Ross's uncle and cousins on New Year's Day, and spent two free nights after Christmas at a hotel downtown Sacramento and enjoyed the pool, gym and delicious hot breakfast.  We loved visiting the Giving Machine in our mall! It's fun having one close this year.

DAY TWO of JV Basketball Tournament... Here are some snapshots and a VIDEO for a compilation of clips. She played the entire game.

Playing side by side with her friend Sydney on JV team (and in our new ward!)

Talking to Annette on the phone to check in (from her surgery) and taking some photos around the kitchen to send her... Abby feeding nibbles outside the cage, to lure him back in
The rain falling in the pool
Abby snuggling with Jerry
Ross working on the table.
Me burning a new candle, from another scholar.
We did coats to help "finish" our table (it's not true finish because we didn't sand), but it helps color and protect a little. Then we did a wax coating at the end. I took a photo of each coat to see if it was working.

Then Ross took a break with Jerry.

Then he took a break with Nibbles and gave him some broccoli.

We moved their cage upstairs to the Frog.
