It was a beautiful experience going through the Oakland Temple this morning! 😊 I'm sure Ross's mother Nora was smiling down from heaven. She grew up 1/3 mile from the temple. My parents remember taking youth on baptisms trips here 40 years ago when they lived in Monterey. So fun to share the inside in the temple with our children. Temples make families eternal. 💗
After our Temple tour we walked downhill to our car and had a tailgate picnic. Pizza, watermelon and Tiki soda. Mmm! As we ate we enjoyed a great view of the temple above many homes on the hill. Then we did some family history--we drove 3 minutes to see the home Grandma Nora Tucker lived in from 1958-1967 (which was 4th grade until she got married). The temple was dedicated in 1964 so she watched it being built. The home is .3 mile from the temple up in the hills. It has a super steep "S" shape driveway and part of the property was for sale. Ross knocked on the door and asked if we could walk around the outside. It has the best view of the temple from the front door! A little bit of real family history. 😊 Fun to think what things were like when Nora lived there as a kid. Ross's mother passed away 9 years ago. Someday we'll get to see/meet her again. 💞
Hi Sacramento. Ross took the wrong road. haha!
Bridge getting closer to the temple.
Just follow the signs.
We rode a fancy bus uphill from the parking lot. Emma said, "this bus is the nicest bus I've even been on...it's because we're going to the temple." I guess she remembers hearing me the temple would be really fancy!
We played the hurry up and wait game. Our tour was at 11 and we got there about 11:20. We got inside the temple with our cloud booties about 12.
We watched a movie before going in. The missionary that helped was from Farmington, UT.
So pretty!
Family picture time. Waiting for our turn. 💕📸
Enjoying a play in the park. Thank you Take Note Troupe! 🎭😀👏
Ahhh! I have a thing for hearts. Love this natural heart while she was working on the camp banner.
She's getting closer. I LOVED the natural heart in the black hand!
