Twin Cops

Made two batches of sugar gems today, the handyman came again for the kitchen floor (tried a new glue), bought milk/cheese/bread/salad, had orange chicken for dinner with rice, broccoli, Asian salad, Ross has EQ interviews at the church, I sat with Allen while he worked on Math (volume of a cylinder) and social studies (magazine cover of 1800s lifestyles). Jill came to the car after school with an Abe Lincoln prop and Todd afternoon Jane and Emma dressed as cops and they turned the front room into a court room. Their new softball bags arrived and they already filled them at their supplies and found a place to hang them. Jill's team is white and the twins team is maroon. They both have team meetings at the end of this week. Electronics stayed off today because of today's dentist challenge.

Days 4 Girls Project Day

A friend asked for a recipe. I brought her that for dinner after she had her baby. I called it pizza pasta.

On Saturday morning I took my girls to the stake Relief Society humanitarian event. Ross took Jill skiing and Allen was at a campout. We were supposed to stay together and it was hard to find an activity that we could all do. There were lots of people there and all of the kid-friendly stations were filled and/or finished up quickly so we did some wandering. I wanted to show my girls the different stations and let the see how exactly this Days 4 Girls project was put together, step by step. There was a lot of grumbling to go home and that we were wasting time. They wanted to have a project but seats were limited. Jane found two friends at sewing machines. She watched and then clipped their threads. Abby become a pocket checker. Emma never really got into it, even after we had a folding project near Abby. Oh well. We went, we served, and we had some soup.

Jill went skiing with Dad today! ⛷️❄️ Ross said: "Jill's first time skiing. Pretty good at going straight and fast. No so good at turning and stopping. 😊 Too young for the ski class so Dad just improvised".

Saturday evening Ross went on a visit with the missionaries and had a meeting after with the mission leaders. He's the EQ counselor over missionary work.

Early Teacher Conferences

Wednesday...
Great parent teacher conference this morning. This girl loves school and her skills are blossoming! 🌼❤️🏫👍🌼

My 2nd graders are soaking up school skills and soaring!! I love having them in the same class. One said: "Mom, you and Dad don't even need to go to a conference because I don't even talk at school", suggesting that conferences were only for "trouble kids". I told her I wanted to go and hear how great she was doing. It can be a pay day for a parent. 😊 And I absolutely love going into the classroom (aka "their independent learning world away from Mom and home") and seeing them LIGHT up when they hear positive feedback about themselves from their teacher and watching them show their artwork, writing, and class activities. I love seeing them SHARE their "world". Thankful my kids go to a good school with good teachers and have opportunities outside of home to build their characters. 💕🏫💕

Saying hi to Christmas tree while I walk laps at the mall. 👟🌲👟

Watching practice from the window. Four of those kids are mine. Thankful the coach lets little siblings do the drills too. They love it. ❤️🚘

Sweet sixteen! That many years since our first date. ❤️👫❤️

Kids chillaxin with Studio C while I was at a RS b'day dinner and hubby was on EQ visits. Our dinner was pork tacos/salad, chips and lemon bundt cake and ice cream. Mmmm!

2nd Grade sillies!

Wednesday after school we rushed home, dropped Jill and Allen, grabbed soccer stuff and rushed to soccer practice. Jane and Emma were pretty silly in the back seat and at Abby's practice. They were excited to do more lighthouse sewing!

"Shhh! We're having twinsies talk." 😎

Jane was giving Emma a ride on her back like a horse...
2nd grade sillies 😆

We had scriptures, dinner and Ross headed off to the church for EQ interviews. Kids cleaned up dinner, packed lunches, had baths, got pajamas on and they had 15 minutes of screen time. Then off it went, teeth brushing and lights out 8:25 for younger three and older two before 9. Ross didn't get home until close to ten. I got a stack of church news reading done in bed while waiting up. Only have Sept New Era and Ensign magazines left. Maybe I'll read those while he's at b'ball tonight.

Road Rally

I just LOVE this Elders Quorum activity flyer!! Looks so fun. I think the last time the EQ had an organized activity was about 5 years ago, not long after we moved here.
During our laurel lesson I looked over at Gaby and then Eliza and realized that three in a row of us were wearing white lace!! Lovely laurel ladies in lace!!

Thanks to Rachel for taking our photo when I wanted a better one than the selfie one.

It was nice only have one meeting for the both of us this morning. (EQ at 8 and Ward Council at 9). We had time together as a family. Jill did FHE (kids had the hardest time listening!) and taught using handouts from a past primary lesson on resurrection and they played "What Time is it Mr. Wolf?" and I played the whole purple section in the primary book. So nice to have more time on a Sunday. It doesn't happen very often.
