Wonder Woman Star Soccer Socks

There's some photos from last night soccer practice and pumpkin carving...

Of course Wonder Woman wears STAR socks when she plays soccer! ⭐πŸ˜‰πŸ¦ΈπŸΌ‍♀️ Yesterday was the last covid-style soccer practice of the season. Fun to see the kids and coach in costume πŸ˜ƒ

5 little pumpkins!

Today I slept in because I was up late with a low blood sugar in the 40s and I woke up and did not feel well so I didn't get my usual walk but I went out a little later when the sun was up and went around the block several times and got a cool photo with the sun in between two trees with leaves of different color, one from summer season and one from Autumn season.

"swept off by them even as a dew before the SUN" (Mormon 4:18)

I just went to the store and bought Halloween candy and a jack-o'-lantern Pizza and cinnamon and cheesy bread for tonight's Halloween dinner after we drive through trick or treat at the city event.

Happy October!

I sent out the weekly YW email. I spent the morning at post office and Walmart after dropping kids off. I straightened the house so I would be fine on Tuesday being at the temple. After school the "Great Pumpkin" had a surprise for the kids to open... Hotel Trans 2.

We had three choices for dinner--leftover stove top chicken dish, leftover honey lime enchiladas or shepherd's pie. And that night after soccer practice we opened the Halloween boxes. The girls decorated while parents and Abby helped Allen with his diorama.

πŸ‘»It's finally Oct 1st and these two pumpkins are excited to open up our Halloween boxes and start decorating. πŸŽƒπŸŽƒ And they reminded me it was 30 days until their b'day. πŸ˜

It was Amy's birthday so I posted this photo and caption on FB:

πŸŽ‚Happy birthday to my oldest sister Amy! This photo was taken in 2007 when I lived in Chicago. She came out to visit for a baby blessing and we were downtown and stopped in a toy store along the Magnificent Mile and played some of the games.πŸ‘ Such a great big sister. We shared a room growing up and had years of late-night talks. Happy b'day sis! πŸ˜Š❤️

Abby's Sequel: Four Pumpkins Save Halloween

Yesterday I heard Abby tell Allen she was making a sequel to her "published" book (thanks Aunt Ellen!) and this morning when I went into Abby's room, I saw a pile of sheets she'd been working on:

I told her to hurry and finish it because I want to know what happens! I LOVE her drawings and writing. Such improvements from her first book!

Pumpkin With Four Faces

I bought ONE pumpkin at the store. I thought that was enough and we could decide together how to carve it. Nope! I was wrong. All four kids had their own ideas(Ross was at home-teaching and I didn't really care) and no one could agree. So I took a pen, drew four boundaries on the pumpkin and each person designed their own "look" and I carved it with a knife. We ended up with a Coco (pig) face, a Creeper face, a happy face, and angry face. Ross thought that was the best idea: one pumpkin, four faces and four happy people. We just have to turn it around so they can see the faces change. I'm filing that away in memory to do again next year. I asked the kids what we should name it: "quad", "tetra", "four faces", Shelly". They still can't agree, but the carving is done!
