I have a two-fer today for Ryan's baby book because I'm up to his first birthday celebration!
The week before Ryan's birthday, we were moving out of our house in Virginia and prepping to move into the new house in North Carolina, so Ryan spent his first birthday in a hotel. We did a birthday celebration at the Virginia hotel so that Missy and Bennet could be there too (and Missy's mom), and both my parents were in town to help us with the move. That turned out to be a Very Good Thing because once we got to NC, all hell broke loose: the day we got our household goods delivered, the hubs had the flu and a 105-degree fever, Ryan was coming down with it too, and I was in the hospital emergency room, waiting to be admitted for emergency gallbladder surgery. That was the most exciting move we've ever had, and definitely worse than either of the overseas moves. (As I type this, we haven't gotten to Germany yet, so I'm hoping that move isn't as heinous as this one was even though I know we're in for a two-week quarantine when we arrive).
So anyway, I got a cheap tablecloth to put on the floor and we got a Red Velvet cake from Wegman's for Ryan's first birthday cake. I picked another favorite DSP and chose the colors based on that.
Pacific Point isn't in the DSP but works well with the other colors, which are Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow, and Whisper White. I bought multiple packs of this DSP because I loved this pattern so much.
Cheers, y'all!

Retiring: Weather Together
Mornin', y'all! How's the weather where you are? It's been overcast and rainy a lot this week, but today it's all bright and sunny and of course that's the day I pick to share an umbrella card.
Weather Together and the coordinating Umbrella Weather Framelits are both retiring. I wanted to love this set, I really did, but I think I liked the old Rain or Shine one better (even though it didn't have matching dies). But I do love being able to cut these out with just a quick pass through the Big Shot :). Anyway, I was inspired to dust off this set thanks to the Retro Rubber inspiration challenge:
I've had Weather Together for probably two years, because I think I had it for a while before I used it in January of 2017.
I also used this week's sketch from Global Design Project:
Have a great day, y'all!
Supplies, all SU!
Stamps: Weather Together
Ink: Melon Mambo, Dapper Denim, Powder Pink
Paper: Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink, Thick Whisper White, Color Theory DSP
Accessories: Umbrella Weather Framelits, Lots of Labels Framelits, Dimensionals, Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes

Showers of Happiness
Hey y'all! So hubs got the Mac back yesterday and spent quite a bit of time getting it set back up...and this morning found that it had done a restart on its own overnight. So it's going back to the Apple store and I'm still on the laptop and I just discovered if you have the fingers on one hand one key to the left of where they're supposed to be then you can't type in English :)
But I made a pretty card yesterday to share today!
Okay I know the Myths & Magic suite is far and away my favorite in the Occasions catalog...didn't use any of the stamps this time, but I did use the patterned paper and washi tape! (Lookit me using washi tape!) And I busted out Weather Together, which I got a long time ago and haven't used nearly as much as I thought I would.
I used the Fab Friday sketch:
I'm just under the wire to enter this over there! And this fits in with the Global Design Project theme too:
I think this could be used as a baby shower card OR a bridal shower card. Either way, that's a new beginning. And finally, check out the Color Throwdown:
I used Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Daffodil Delight, and Pool Party. I had actually intended to use Melon Mambo, but I was kinda on autopilot and didn't think about it until I had already cut the Berry Burst scalloped circle and stamped the sentiment, so I just decided to go with it at that point. I did the umbrella twice though...the first time I colored it with markers, and it just seemed to harsh, so I restamped it and watercolored instead, then just glued the new piece on top of the markered one. I'm driving my computer crazy, it doesn't think that things like "restamped", "watercolored", and "markered" are words. I laugh in the face of wavy red lines under my words!
That's it for me today, y'all. Cheers!

Dijon Baby Shower?
Hey kids, I had some arguments with the computer this morning but I'm finally getting this post up. My card for today:
The two background panels are silver DSP, which kinda reflected the camera flash a bit so that looks better IRL. However I think the Delightful Dijon card base is just too dark and that I should have done white...but I didn't want to attempt to peel everything up.
The sketch is from Create with Connie and Mary:
I think I'd like this better with some lighter, brighter colors (like So Saffron instead of Delightful Dijon), but I was having a hack at the Global Design Project color challenge:
I used Dapper Denim as my free choice color. Still, I think I picked the right stamps for the sketch but the wrong stamps for the color challenge...I have a feeling that color combination could be a lot more fabulous than I made it look.
Oh well, not every card can be your favorite, right? I'm going to blame this one on lack of sleep.
Cheers, y'all!
