Thoughtful Floral

Mornin' y'all!  I got to spend some time in my craft room yesterday making a few cards and working on some scrapbook pages.  Hooray!  So here's my card for today:

Okay what kind of flowers are these??  My brain was saying agapanthus and maybe they are, but my brain also says they should be bright pink and Google says agapanthus are bluish purple.  Well, paper flowers can be any color I want, so pink it is!  Also I loved the inspo pic from Just Add Ink:

I had a scrap of Blueberry Bushel striped paper which I thought echoed the stairs nicely, and when I was sticking things down I decided to do the opposite side of the paper for the middle panel just to add some interest.  That giant floral stamp from Best Thoughts popped in my head as soon as I saw this inspo pic.

Had to have another go at the Freshly Made Sketch this week too:

This card came together super quick except for the coloring, which was fun anyway.  That's it for me today, peeps, I've got to go get Ryan up and moving.  Usually he wakes up on his own before 7 but not today...school here starts really late in my opinion, we don't leave the house until about 8.  At least it's less drama if he's getting himself up.  Cheers!

Ink:  Night of Navy, Stampin' Blends in Polished Pink, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green
Paper:  Granny Apple Green, Thick Basic White, Blueberry Bushel DSP

Thoughtful Agapanthus

Mornin' y'all!  How's your week going?  I've gotten to spend some time in my craft room lately so I'm a happy stamper!  And I got the new In Colors, so I had to play with those!

Nope, that's not a new stamp set ; )  It's the long-retired set Best Thoughts, which was a host set back in 2015.  I had pulled it out when I was looking for a different long-retired floral set, ha, and couldn't resist inking it up today.  The flowers look like agapanthus to me, which my exhaustive 20 seconds of Googling reveals should be kind of a blue violet color (so...Orchid Oasis, really) but I just really wanted to play with Sweet Sorbet so I made my flowers pinkish.  Also I'm pretty sure I'm already head-over-heels in love with Parakeet Party, isn't that green GORGEOUS?

Anyway, I'll be entering this card over at Inkspirational:

I had fun watercoloring that big flower image.  I stamped it with Versamark and heat embossed with black EP because my black StazOn ink pad is bone dry and I don't have an ink refill for it yet.

This is also for the Global Design Project theme challenge:

Looking forward to playing more with the new colors.  Have a great week!

A Dozen Best Thoughts

Or really, just one "hello".

I thought I'd do something a little different with the sentiment so I punched it out with the Elegant Butterfly punch as opposed to a circle or an oval or something you might expect.

Today's floral greeting is brought to you by the Global Design Project colors:

And also the Mojo Monday sketch:

I moved the circular element on the sketch down a little bit to accommodate the flower image.  I like this sketch.  It's more layers than I typically do on my own, but I think it works.

Cheers, peeps!

Thoughtful Flowers

Don't you hate it when you wake up with a giant headache?  That's me today.  Lucky for me I'd made this card yesterday afternoon so I still have something to post right now.

The colors are courtesy of the Global Design Project challenge:

And I got the layout from the latest Retro Sketch:

And voila, it was done.  I did discover in the making of this card that if you ink up a stamp with Soft Sky ink, stamp it off once, and then stamp it on something you're working on, the color comes out looking like old dirty dishwater.  Yet another reason why we should ditch Soft Sky and bring back Baja Breeze.

As an extra special bonus today, here's something I stole off Facebook that I've been meaning to email to my mom but I keep forgetting.

I don't know who made up this chart, nor do I remember who I stole it from on Facebook, but I thought Mom would like to see it since she's got a crush on Snape.  Teehee.

Stamps:  Butterfly Basics, Best Thoughts, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink:  Basic Gray, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Soft Sky

Nachos: Another Butterfly

Hey stampy friends, are you ready for another terrific Nacho Average Sketch Challenge?  Because we've got one coming your way, right....now!

Don't be scared of the layers, this sketch is easy to work with I promise!  In fact, I ended up matting almost all my layers so my card has about eight layers on it.  Nine if you count the rhinestone.  Here it is:

Once again I used the Cherry on Top DSP (I so need to order some new stuff!...though I do still love the Cherry on Top stuff, lots of good patterns in there) and a butterfly from Watercolor Wings.  You've gotta get those butterflies if you haven't already, it's so fun to play around with color combinations and patterns.  But if you don't have Watercolor Wings yet (or any other butterflies), feel free to sub in another shape for the butterfly on the sketch.  That's totally allowed :)

So it's your turn!  Upload your sketchariffic creation to the Nacho blog by Sunday night for us all to see and oooh and ahhh over.  Cheers, peeps, and happy stampin'!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Watercolor Wings, Best Thoughts
Ink:  Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder, Tip Top Taupe
Paper:  Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White, Cherry on Top DSP
Accessories:  Butterflies Thinlits, rhinestone, Dimensionals

Nachos: The Best is Yet to Come

Happy Tuesday, Nacho fans!  Are you ready for a super awesome new In Color Nacho Average Color Challenge?  Because it's here:

Bermuda Bay is a longtime favorite of mine, and Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder are two of our new In Colors.  So let's see how they look together:

I wish I'd stamped off the flowers a bit more to make them lighter so the sentiment would stand out a bit more, but otherwise I like how this turned out.  The background is Hardwood stamped off once in Tip Top Taupe to make it lighter.  Super simple card.

Your turn!  Be sure to upload your card to the Nacho blog for us to ooh and ahh over.  Have fun stampin'!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Best Thoughts, Hardwood
Ink:  Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder, Tip Top Taupe
Paper:  Bermuda Bay, Whisper White

Nachos: A Pastel Bouquet

Good morning, Nacho fans!  Hope you're having a lovely Tuesday.  If not, perhaps an awesome Nacho sketch is in order?  Check it out!

Isn't that pretty?  Can't wait to see what you do with it.  In the meantime, here's my card:

I did a mirror image of the sketch so my butterfly would be facing into the card instead of facing the edge.  This is a new hostess set from the new catalog, what do you think?

I used some (retired) pewter embossing powder on this.  I suppose I could have used silver to make this all current.

I thought the upper left corner needed a little something else, so I added a pair of Candy Dots.  What do you reckon, Dots or no Dots?

Anyway, it's your turn now!  Go see the other pretties at the Nacho blog and then make your own to share with us.  Have fun, peeps!
