Scrappy Monday, y'all! Today I'm starting the layouts from our trip to Sapporo in 2010. I made all these scrapbook pages last year but I was waiting for winter to post them (but not Christmas, because I usually have a few Christmas layouts ready to go too). And since we've got snow on the ground this is a prime time to start sharing Sapporo.
See the pics here and here. For this layout, I used the same sketch as I did on the Towel Creatures layout here.
I stamped my own patterned paper for this photo mat. That's Missy and me hugging that snowman, who was probably at least 8 feet tall.
Today's color palette: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Sweet Sugarplum, and Whisper White. It's a variation of another color combo I love to use on snow pages, using Baja Breeze and Rich Razzleberry (see that combo in action here, I love this layout).
Ryan and I usually take Monday off from the gym, and today we're getting ready to have book club here tonight. When Ryan goes down for his nap, I'm going to bust out the food processor I got on Black Friday and make scones! :) Cheers, y'all!
Supplies, all SU!
Stamps: Tall Tales Alphabet, Snow Burst, Snow Flurries
Ink: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Sweet Sugarplum
Paper: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Thick Whisper White, Watercolor Wonder DSP
Accessories: None

Friday Flashback: Holidays & Wishes
Happy Friday, friends! So the hubs and I saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens last night, and despite my best efforts I had to blink at least a half a dozen times during the movie so we're going back tonight so I can catch anything I missed the first time around ;) But you're here for the Friday Flashback! Right? Right! Today's retired stamp set is Holidays & Wishes, so here we go!
I love greens and blues together, I think they make a nice sympathy card when you use more subdued tones.
Playing with Heartfelt Thanks and inchies. Also, I miss Almost Amethyst and all the other purples :(
This was before I learned how to tie pretty knots, but otherwise I like this one. It's shimmery white cardstock for a bit of shine.
And there's a pink and purple Valentine...
And a Scandinavian Christmas tree.
One more sympathy card, and now it's time for today's new creation! Spoiler alert, it has blue and green on it, but it's not subdued for a sympathy card and it might be one of my favorite cards this year. Take a look:
I just had to use Joyful Christmas again because that flower is so pretty. And I was inspired by these colorful poinsettias at my local grocery store:
They have glitter on them in addition to being a wonderful shade of royal blue. Aren't they pretty?
I also used this week's Pals Paper Arts sketch:
And this week's Color Throwdown is a free-for-all Christmas challenge:
I used Garden Green, Pacific Point, and Blackberry Bliss, and I think I love that combination. The poinsettia was inked with Versamark, then Blackberry Bliss, and I used Iridescent Ice embossing powder plus it's stamped on shimmery white cardstock. For the leaves, I just stamped them in Garden Green, so they ran a little bit when I watercolored them. I waited until the water dried and then used the fine tip of my Garden Green marker to go over the lines again, and I like how that worked out for me.
Anyway, I've got to get moving. Have a great weekend, peeps, and if you haven't seen the new Star Wars movie yet I won't spoil any plot points for you. May the Force be with you!
Supplies, last card only:
Stamps: Holidays & Wishes, Joyful Christmas
Ink: Versamark, Pacific Point, Garden Green, Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry
Paper: Pacific Point, Garden Green, Blackberry Bliss, Shimmery White
Accessories: Iridescent Ice EP, rhinestones, Decorative Label punch, Ovals Framelits, Dimensionals

Friday Flashback: Sweet Serendipity
Happy Friday, stampers! It is time once more for a Friday Flashback, and today's stamp set is Sweet Serendipity, a set of six cool sentiment stamps plus a few little images. Let's go!
I'd say riding a bucking bronco would be an adventure, wouldn't you?
The Sweet Serendipity stamp I used on this layout says "Live each day with laughter/enthusiasm" which seemed perfect with the picture of my friend Sarah on a carousel in Florence.
You saw this one earlier this year in the Pretty Amazing Friday Flashback.
And this one was in last week's Happiness Always Friday Flashback.
Oh hey, Fabulous Flowers had a Friday Flashback already too. This is still one of my favorite cards.
The sentiment says sparkle, and this card delivered! The whole top panel is covered in Iridescent Ice EP, which is hard to photograph but looks awesome and sparkly in real life.
This was the first card on the Pretty Peony Friday Flashback, and it's another of my old favorites. I love that Sanded background stamp. That's it for the flashback part of today's post (and the flashback to prior flashbacks, if you followed all the links), it's time to see what's new!
I had Sheltering Tree out on my table for a different project so I thought I'd use it for today's post too. I used the Fall-To Layout #22 from Clean & Simple Stamping:
And the softer color combination from Colour Me...!
But since I was on a roll in my craft room, and there was a whole 'nother color challenge on there, I had to try the bold combination as well:
I added a bit of Sahara Sand to both color combinations, I couldn't help it :) For this one, I also used the sketch from the Paper Players:
Hope you enjoyed today's extra-long Friday Flashback. Have a great weekend, peeps, we're painting again!
