CAS Christmas, Part 2

Hey y'all!  I had intended to write this post in the morning before I went to work, but I ran out of time :) I'm back with the other three card designs I made for my husband's work.

I got Lots of Cheer right before it retired and then didn't have a chance to ink it up, so I'm glad this cute boxy snowman finally gets his chance to appear!  The outside sentiment is from First Frost, and inside says Happy Holidays from Warmest Regards.

Kinda wish I'd done the mittens in blue and the sentiment in green, but I didn't have that thought until I'd already made most of the cards so oh well.  The mittens are from Merry (long, long retired!) and the sentiment is from Warmth & Wonder.  You may notice that all of the sentiments on the card fronts have something to do with warmth, guess that's my theme this year!

Last up is a cup of cocoa from Scentsational Season.  And that's all my cards!  I think making 65 cards in a single day is a personal best for me ;)  I was very productive at work for the past few days too, and I'd like to relax tomorrow for my day off but nope, looks like I'll be making desserts for a potluck thing in the afternoon.  I do like to bake though...

Cheers, y'all!  Stay toasty.

Baby Luke: January

Just two more baby book posts to go after this one!

I thought that winter pictures would probably have a lot of rosy cheeks, and since most of the pink will be covered up by the photos it doesn't look TOO girly :)  Love the Coastal Cabana with all the snowflakes, that DSP pack was pretty awesome.

We're going to hop across the border into France today, maybe look at some antiques and hit up the big bakery while we're there.  Au revoir!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Snowman Season, Merry
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Coastal Cabana, Real Red, Blueberry Bushel, Pumpkin Pie
Paper:  Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, Blueberry Bushel, Thick Whisper White, Let It Snow Specialty DSP
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, Snowman Builder punch

Snowmageddon

Edited to add:  I set this up last night to post today, and woke up to two inches of snow outside.  How's that for good timing? ;)

Scrappy Monday, y'all!  How's it going today?  I'm hanging in there and still pregnant :p  Hubs and I are taking bets as to when Sodapop will arrive.

These pictures are from last year's giant snowstorm that was over my birthday weekend :)  Dang, why is this photo so dark of the layout??  Anyway, click to embiggen.  Hubs got almost an entire week off of work due to the snow, so we used the time to play with the dogs and build a giant snowbear and then we had to dig out the car because eventually hubs did have to go back to work.

There's a closeup of some of the letters and rest assured the dog hair is not a permanent part of the layout.  My friend Tiana made us a sign once that says "Home is where the dog hair sticks to everything but the dog!" and that is 1000000% TRUE.  Thanks, Sadie.

And here's a bonus second layout!  Sooooo I've got an album of pictures of my dogs because when my yellow lab Chewie died, I realized I didn't have a lot of pictures of him despite spending a LOT of time with him.  So we do make an effort to take pictures of our two doglets and yes I'm the crazy person with a dog scrapbook.  Anyway, we took so many cute pictures of them during Snowmageddon that I decided to make a layout for their book in addition to the other layout above.  But I figured why reinvent the wheel, so I did basically the same layout, except I squeezed in three photos on the top right instead of two.  Sadie wishes it would snow like this again because she totally loves the snow, but so far nothing doing.

The color palette that's much brighter in person:  Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Cucumber Crush, and Melon Mambo.  Seriously, why did the pictures of these layouts come out so dark?  Grr.

Cheers!

Supplies, all SU!

Baby Books: January

Scrappy Monday, peeps.  So far as I know the twins are still baking but here's another baby book layout:

Baby mama wanted bright, saturated colors ("Pastels are for wussies!") so that's what I used.  Although I suppose Pool Party isn't necessarily a bright, saturated color...if I did these pages again I might use Coastal Cabana instead to see how that looks.

The little penguin and snowman are from No Peeking, which is nominally a Christmas set but hey, penguins and snowmen work for winter non-Christmas pages too.

And some more snowflakes on the journaling block.  Hubs and I just got back from a weekend trip to Ohio's Amish country and we got snowed on twice.  Just flurries, but we did see snow!

Today's color palette:  Tangerine Tango, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black, and Whisper White.  Who says you can't use orange for a winter page.

Well, you know how it is when you get back from a trip (even a short one)...lots of cleaning up and laundry to do, so I should get to it!  Cheers, peeps!

Supplies, mostly SU!
Stamps:  No Peeking, Merry
Ink:  Tangerine Tango, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper:  Tangerine Tango, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Frosty Day
Accessories:  Sizzix alphabet, non-SU circle/scalloped circle dies

Friday Flashback: Merry

Welcome to this week's Friday Flashback!  Since yesterday was Thanksgiving, I'm now ready to do more Christmas cards, so expect some Christmas-riffic Flashback posts for the next month.  Today's featured retired stamp set is Merry.  Let's get started!

This was our 2006 Christmas card; if I remember right, the word was stamped with Real Red craft ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice for some sparkle.

When we lived in North Carolina, I worked at the central office for the local school district, and the man who ran my department loved to wear Christmas ties all through December--he had enough different ones to just about do a different Christmas tie every week day from December first through till Christmas Eve.  So I made this one for him!  (You can tell it's a tie, right?  Right?!)

This was for a sketch challenge...the background is Wild Hearts, which always makes me think of going fabric shopping with my mom when I was a kid.

I did a one-sheet wonder with Simply Circles in red and green and made a slew of different Christmas cards.

I kinda miss Gable Green and Green Galore.  Well, Gumball Green is pretty fantastic, but it's not the same.

Another sketch challenge, and I like purple for Christmas cards.  Ready for the new projects?  I made two scrapbook layouts to complete this week of scrappiness!

The top left picture is not sideways; hubs is laying on the ground while my dad's dog Ginger "attacks" him.

The pictures are from Christmas Eve 2003, just a few months after I married my sweet hubs.  Yay for scrapping 10-year-old pictures!  (I told you I was behind on my scrapping.)

Thanks for stopping by today!  And if you're out taking advantage of Black Friday sales, be careful out there.  People be crazy!

Supplies, scrapbook pages only:
Stamps:  Merry
Ink:  Certainly Celery, Real Red, Night of Navy
Paper:  Certainly Celery, Real Red, Night of Navy, Very Vanilla, Dashing DSP
