If you've been checking out the blog for any length of time, you know that I make a LOT of cards. This week though my husband requested a specific card, which he almost never does...there's a guy who works for him whose wife is due with a baby girl sometime this month, and both of them are Baylor grads too. So the hubs asked me for a baby card, but I know this couple is *not* going for the all-pink super fluffy frou-frou girly-girl stuff so here's what I made:
I scribbled on my largest acrylic block with Crushed Curry and Wild Wasabi markers (I tried So Saffron at first but it came out way too pale), spritzed with water, and "stamped" it on my background panel. I suggested green and gold when the hubs asked for the card, and he said a teensy little bit of pink would be okay. The little teddy bear is from the now-retired Baby Bundle stamp set, but that was what I needed for this card.
I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch:
So there you go, I can make specific cards on commission ;)
Cheers, y'all!
Supplies, all SU!
Stamps: Made with Love (sentiment), Baby Bundle (retired)
Ink: Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi, Blushing Bride (just a teeny bit on the bear's ears)

Back to Our Regularly Scheduled Programming?
Well, that was a bit of an unplanned hiatus but I'm finally back in the ol' craft cave again. I can't promise I'm going to post 5-6 days a week like I was before, but I'm going to get my stamp on as often as I can (especially before Baby Sodapop arrives).
I have been extremely remiss in sending out baby thank you cards so my first foray back in my stamping space was to make a stack of these:
Missy is super proud that they're green and yellow (Baylor colors). Green is my favorite color, and kinda seems like the "theme" of what we've put on a registry--if there's an option to get an item in green, that's the one I go for. My next trick will be to actually get these written in and sent out.
Not real thrilled with the picture, but the little point-and-shoot camera that I've been using for yeeeeears is finally giving up the ghost so I took this one on my iPhone. Technically the phone camera is supposed to be "better" than our old camera, but this pic just didn't turn out that great, I don't know. Maybe I'll have to find a different place to photograph my projects with the phone.
Anyway, I've got dogs to walk, a gym to hit, and dishes to do. Cheers, y'all!

Nachos: Little Mr. Right
Heyyy Nacho fans! We have an awesome sketch for you today, check this out:
Aaaand here's what I made:
Squee! Okay, so I was a little liberal in my interpretation of the two banners, but you can definitely see the sketch in my card, right? I made it to match this baby onesie:
My friend Tiana's girls (who call me Aunt Christy) sent this to me, isn't it adorable. And why are they sending me baby clothes? Because this:
Yes, that is an ultrasound and yes, it's MY ultrasound. Hubs and I flew out to Texas on Saturday to tell our families that we're expecting a wee baby boy to arrive in February of 2017. I hear he should look more like a human and less like an alien by then. SURPRISE!!!
Okay, back to the sketch! This is a stampy blog, after all :) Go check out the Nacho blog for more eye candy and don't forget to upload your own creation. Cheers!
Supplies, all SU!
Stamps: Made with Love, Greatest Greetings
Ink: Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, Cucumber Crush, Versamark
Paper: Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, Thick Whisper White, Cucumber Crush DSP
Accessories: Baby's First Framelits, Sunshine Sayings Dies, clear EP

Friday Flashback: Baby Tees
Happy Friday, y'all! I've got a busy day going here because I have a LOT to do before we leave for Texas tomorrow afternoon. Wheee! So let's get to the Friday Flashback, shall we? This week's stamp set is Baby Tees, which was actually a jumbo wheel but I cut mine apart and made it into five stamps and I love it that way. Okay, cards!
It seems like most of my friends for the last several years have had boys, so a LOT of these cards are boy cards. Out of the last five baby books I made, four were for boys (and you know who got the girl one). Anyway, I think I made a mask and sponged the color on the onesie for this card which I thought looked pretty cute.
Watercolor Wonder Crayons for coloring on this one.
Oh look, girl cards! I made the one on the right because I'd seen a purple and orange baby quilt that I really liked (more grape purple rather than reddish purple like Rich Razzleberry, but I have to work with the ink colors I have). Might be interesting to try that kind of card with Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum, hmm.
The sentiment should be a little darker on this one but otherwise I think it's cute.
And from the name of the photo on this one, I made it after Duchess Kate gave birth to lil Prince George :)
Okay, one last card from the archives, and here is today's new creation:
It's...another boy card! But I'll get to why in a minute. First up I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch:
Cutting out all the pieces for the card and stamping the images and sentiment took like five minutes, and then it took me an hour to color in all the onesies (I used a blender pen and squished ink pad lids). And it's more boy because it just happens that I liked the Color Throwdown this week and it's more boyish:
I used Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, and the retired Coastal Cabana for my colors, plus some Basic Black and a wee bit of Soft Suede for the hangers.
Okay, off to work on my to-do list. Cheers, y'all!
Supplies, last card only:
Stamps: Baby Tees, Made with Love, Hearts a Flutter
Ink: Basic Black, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Soft Suede
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Thick Whisper White, Wild Wasabi DSP
Accessories: Dimensionals

Nacho Blog Hop: Mother's Day & Graduation
Happy Sunday, y'all! It's time for this month's Nacho Average Challenges blog hop, and this month it's all about moms and graduates. I don't have any new or recent graduates in my immediate circle, but I did make some Mother's Day cards so that's what I have for you today.
First up is a CAS monochromatic card:
This was for my mom; the white layer is actually Shimmery White and it was made to go with her present:
It's a special edition Starbucks mug for Disneyland's Diamond Anniversary (my mom was born the same year Disneyland opened, so it's her diamond anniversary too!). There's a gemstone in one of the Occasions catalog sets, but I don't have that one, so I looked in my past Paper Pumpkin stamp sets and found the one I used which I thought was perfect. One die cut word and stamped sentiment later, and that card was done!
Next up is something tea-riffic:
We got my MIL some herbal teas from a tea shop in Old Town Alexandria, so I made a tea-related card to go with. The sentiment is from a recent Paper Pumpkin kit (because I might not put the kits together, but I DO use the stamps pretty often!)
Last up is a picture frame for my SIL's desk at work:
She's a new mama, so I thought I should get her something for her first Mother's Day. She can put a 4x6 photo on there and have it on her desk when she goes back to work full time. How do you like the ladybugs? They're made with two circle punches (1/2" and 1") and the sweetheart punch turned upside down. I loved how they turned out. I tried stamping the spots all over the heart but decided I liked just a few sprinkles of spots better.
Supplies, first card:
Stamps: Crazy About You, past My Paper Pumpkin
Ink: Pacific Point
Paper: Pacific Point, Shimmery White
Accessories: Hello You Thinlits
Supplies, second card:
Stamps: My Paper Pumpkin
Ink: Basic Gray, Blushing Bride, Old Olive
Paper: Pool Party, Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand, Birthday Bouquet DSP
Accessories: Cups & Kettles Framelits, Circles Framelits, Dimensionals
Supplies, picture frame:
Stamps: Larger than Life Alphabet, All About Everything, Made with Love (spots), Watercolor Wings (antennae)
Ink: Garden Green, Basic Black, Real Red
Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Real Red DSP
Accessories: 1/2" and 1" circle punches, Sweetheart punch, Deco Labels Framelits

Deer Niece
Well, I didn't get today's card made yesterday afternoon, but I *did* get my personal stamp catalog up-to-date, which I hadn't done since probably before Christmas. I have two big binders where I stamp the images from each stamp set on a sheet of paper and they're organized by theme; luckily I started it before I got too many stamps to make that fun. I do use it, though. And I have eleventy-million flower stamps.
Anyway, on to today's card! Last week I was a little bummed that What Will You Stamp? circled back around to a stamp set I actually own, and I was out of town so I couldn't participate. Happily for me, they chose another one I own this week:
Even better, I kinda wanted to make a baby card this week so that's perfect! And here's my new creation:
As it happens, my niece is making her world debut tomorrow afternoon. I think I'll send her the little bunny card I made a while back and hold onto this one; I think this one would work for a boy or a girl just fine. This fits in with the latest SUO Challenge to make a card for any kind of shower, so next time I'm invited to a baby shower I'll be all set. Oh, you totally can't see it in the picture, but I painted over the deer's bow with some Wink of Stella because this card just needed a bit of shine.
I used last Thursday's Create with Connie and Mary sketch:
I left off the skinniest layer behind the main image panel; I thought and thought about what to use for it but it just seemed like that would have been one thing too many for my card so I left it.
My colors today are courtesy of Fab Friday:
Good spring colors, good baby colors and like I said, I think they work for either gender. Woohoo!
Okay, y'all. I'm going to rock-paper-scissors with the dogs to see if I go to the gym or take them for a walk first. Cheers!
Supplies, all SU!
Stamps: Made with Love
Ink: Basic Black, So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Smoky Slate (for the deer's nose)
Paper: Thick Whisper White, So Saffron, Subtles DSP
Accessories: Itty Bitty Punch Pack flower, Tags & Labels Framelits, Subtles Candy Dot, Dimensionals, Wink of Stella clear glitter pen

Little Bunny FooFoo
Happy Wednesday, kids. Apparently I didn't get enough of bunnies before Easter, because lookie what I got today:
D'awwww. Unfortunately you can't tell in the picture, but I colored in her nose and inside her ear with a Blushing Bride marker, and then used an Aquapainter and some Pool Party ink to do a teensy bit of shading. And because I just got it in the mail yesterday and couldn't help myself, I used my brand new clear Wink of Stella pen to highlight the bunny tail. Because it's adorable.
I used the sketch from The Paper Players:
And I used the Birthday Bouquet DSP because a.) that's what I used for a lot of my sister's baby shower stuff and b.) I still have a lot of it left, including lots of scraps :) The SUO Challenge this week is to use cute critters, which dovetailed nicely with the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge:
Bunnies: not just for Easter anymore.
Have a great day, y'all! And don't forget that Easter candy is now half off. I've had a severe weakness for Cadbury Creme Eggs this year...
Supplies, all SU!
Stamps: Made with Love
Ink: Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Pool Party
Paper: Blushing Bride, Pool Party, Thick Whisper White, Birthday Bouquet DSP
Accessories: 1 3/4" circle punch, Circles Framelits, Dimensionals, Wink of Stella clear glitter pen which is awesome you should get one :)
