Ryan's First Trip to Texas

Scrappy Monday!  I was just looking through all my draft posts and I have a LOT of Christmas pages to share--some of our photos from Christmas past, and quite a few Christmas card color blocks.  I take all the photo cards we get each year, pick a Christmas DSP, and do color block layouts to go in my scrapbooks like this one.  I've got the cards in stacks for both 2020 and 2021, I hope to do those color block layouts this week.  And soon I'll start collecting cards for this year's color block!

Anywha, for today's layouts we're going back to Ryan's first trip to Texas, which was in early December 2017 when he was 10 months old.  We went to visit both sets of parents early in the month and then spent Christmas itself at our house; I don't like going anywhere else for Christmas.  Now of course I want to be at home so Santa can visit Ryan.

So, pages!

That top left picture is ME when I was about the same age as Ryan was in the picture on the right.  Funny enough, the end table is the same in both pictures.  For the right page, that selfie my mom took with Ryan cracks me up because he looks like he is just so DONE with it all.

Second layout and man, I loved the two patterns I used on these pages.  I only have small scraps left of the Christmas light pattern that I used as a photo mat.  Don't think I have much left of the hexagon pattern either.

Today's color palette:  Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, and Whisper White.  I took it straight from the patterned papers I used.

As soon as I finish breakfast, Ryan and I are going to start making cookie dough.  I'm making some cookies for the hubs to take into work and we give some to a few local friends.  Then I've got to address all the Christmas cards...cheers!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Making Christmas Bright, Signs of Santa, Texas from Deadbeat Designs
Ink:  Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz, Hello Honey, Versamark
Paper:  Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler, Thick Whisper White, Season of Cheer DSP

Thanksgiving in Texas 2010

Scrappy Monday, y'all!  Big news this weekend:  I totally finished Ryan's baby book!  As in, I put the album together and everything.  That thing is MASSIVE!  I ended up with 72 pages in it.  It weighs a ton ;)  And yesterday I started the *next* baby book too, for my future nephew.  Never a dull moment here.

I've done a lot of scrapbooking lately, and since Thanksgiving is next week (how did that happen?!) I thought I'd share a Thanksgiving layout from 2010.

Yeah, that little girl in the pictures is now 10 years old.  I love that pattern from the Color Me Autumn DSP, so I used it as the basis for my color palette:

Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, and Whisper White.  I even remembered the coordinating stamp set for the DSP, For All Things.  This layout came together pretty fast, which is nice.  I still won't make my page goal for 2019, but I'm over 150 pages and that's nothing to sneer at.

Hope your week is off to a good start!

Supplies, mostly SU!
Stamps:  Calendar Alphabet & Numbers, For All Things, Texas by Deadbeat Designs
Ink:  Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry
Paper:  Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Thick Whisper White, Color Me Autumn DSP

Merry Texas Christmas Y'all! (2004)

Merry Christmas, y'all!

As promised last week, here are the layouts from Christmas in Texas in 2004.  I had *lots* of pictures from that year so I made two layouts.  Also, check out my title--the "Merry Christmas Y'all!" is one stamp, so I stamped the words and cut them apart and inserted the TEXAS right in the middle.  I felt so smart when I did that ;) I cut out some of the flower motifs in the patterned paper to use as page accents too.

This rose pattern is in the same pack of DSP, and I chose it especially because my mom was wearing that shirt with giant red roses on it.  I've been hoarding that paper for YEARS and I'm glad I finally found the perfect place to use it! (And I still have more of it left.)  I also used the Cozy Christmas stamp set which I love.

What's funny to me is I'm working on more Christmas layouts, and I almost used the same sketch I used on this one.  But then I found a different sketch to use.  Not that anyone but me would know anyway!

Today's color palette:  Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Baja Breeze (still my favorite), Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla.

Supplies, first layout:
Stamps:  Deadbeat Designs
Ink:  Chocolate Chip
Paper:  Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Baja Breeze, Thick Very Vanilla, Holly Jolly Bouquet DSP
Accessories:  Circles Collection Framelits

Supplies, second layout:
Stamps:  Cozy Christmas
Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze
Paper:  Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze, Thick Very Vanilla, Holly Jolly Bouquet DSP

A-Team Baby Book: August

ETA:  Well dangit, I meant to schedule this for tomorrow morning and accidentally published it this afternoon, so bonus Friday post and pretend you saw it on Saturday.  :D

Happy Saturday and hooray for a long weekend!  Today's baby book pages are certainly summery.

So my brother attended Oklahoma State University, whose mascot is Pistol Pete (a cowboy) and whose colors are orange and black, and now you know why I incorporated orange and a cowboy on this layout.  Plus my niece was born in Texas and nothin' says Texas like cowboys (and cowgirls!).

I'm still angry at myself that somehow I NEVER got ink refills for the In Colors the year that Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, and Concord Crush retired.  I forget the other two colors from that year but maybe they came back?  Anyway, my Poppy Parade ink pad is a little dry so the cowboy isn't as saturated as he could be.

I used the medallion from Wanted as an accent next to the month.

And some wee little horses for the journaling block!  They're actually part of a line of five, I just masked off the other two for this.

Today's super hot color palette:  Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, and Whisper White.  Have a great weekend, y'all!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Wanted, Bronc Buster, Weathered, small horses by Deadbeat Designs
Ink:  Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight

A-Team Baby Book: May

So last weekend I forgot to do a baby book post on Saturday--didn't even think about it until Sunday so at that point I just decided to give it a skip and here we are today.  Get ready to see my hubs' favorite baby book pages of all time.

He, uh, really likes blue, so this blue-blue-green color combo makes him happy.

Clara was born in Texas, so what would be more appropriate than a Texas bluebonnet layout!  I love these stamps, they're from Deadbeat Designs.

The wee Texas stamp is from the same company; they have lots of Texas-themed stuff that's pretty cool.  I like it.

And some teeny bluebonnets for the journaling block :)

Color palette du jour:  Brilliant Blue (I'm almost out of 8.5x11 cardstock in this color, sadface), Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue, and Whisper White.

Cheers, y'all!
