Tea Time!

Mornin' y'all!  I'm back with another blast from the past card today.

I started drinking tea when we lived in England and now I have an entire cabinet of it and I love it :)  For today's card, I used the Sunday Stamps sketch:

And the Cupcake Inspirations theme:

No way was I missing this challenge!  I have several tea-related stamp sets (and a couple of coffee ones too, though I don't drink coffee), but I went with A Nice Cuppa because it has the big teacup image and there's the coordinating DSP.  I took my colors straight from the DSP and made a super-cheery tea-riffic card!

Hope y'all have a tea-riffic day!  Imma go put the kettle on and make myself a cuppa...

Supplies, all SU! (some retired)

Paper:  Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Thick Basic White, Have a Cuppa DSP Stack

Getting Into Hot Water

Mornin' y'all.  I got a letter from a friend last week and she's having a really tough time right now (to say the least), and since I can't fly to where she is and give her a hug, I decided to send her some tea and chocolate.  And a card.

I love a nice cuppa tea when I'm not feeling quite the thing (and lots of times when I feel just fine, thankyouverymuch) which is why I decided to send my friend some tea.  And a fancy new teacup too.  I pulled out a lot of retired stuff for this one : )

My starting point was the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

I was looking for some different patterned paper so I could make this card to fit in another challenge too, but I ran across the Tea & Crumpets paper from a looooong time ago and I took a left turn to use it.  I need to get the package all ready to go and mail it off; I hope it makes my friend smile even if I can't do anything to fix her problems.

Cheers, y'all!

Polly, Put the Kettle On

Hey y'all!  Wonder of wonders, I actually made a card today, my very first one since we moved to Germany.  I got up early this morning to do my workout, and by the time I finished that the hubs was already in the shower but Ryan wasn't up yet so I snatched a few minutes in my craft room and made this:

The teacup stamp set (A Nice Cuppa) is retired, but I had to use it (or one of its other tea-related friends) because of the Global Design Project theme challenge:

The inside of the card says "You are tea-riffic", but I chose a birthday sentiment for the front of the card to fit in the Retro Rubber Challenge:

The birthday sentiment is from Blossoms in Bloom, which is only six months old; it was just the first birthday sentiment that I came across that fit my card design.  A Nice Cuppa is nice and retro though, it's four years old.  I even dug up the matching Have a Cuppa DSP!

Aaaaaaand now I need to go make myself some tea.  Have a great day, peeps.

Supplies, all SU! (many retired)
Stamps:  A Nice Cuppa, Blossoms in Bloom

Tea-Riffic

Happy Friday, y'all!  I couldn't resist making one more tea-related project this week.

All the stamps I used are retired; the sentiment is from A Nice Cuppa and the teacups are from the Take a Sip wheel, which I unmounted and turned into I think eight individual stamps.  It coordinates with the Morning Cup stamp set and in my house the Take a Sip stamps live in the same stamp case as Morning Cup.

Let's start with a color challenge from Inkspire Me:

You know I am here for anything involving Tranquil Tide, and I thought this worked pretty well with my teacups.

Here is this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

And of course the irresistible theme challenge from the Paper Players:

At first when I was working on this card, I had planned to stamp the card base as well but I decided it was just too busy:

The tea rings and splats are from Timeless Textures, but again, it was just too busy for my card and took away the focus from the teacups.  Luckily I hadn't stuck down the main image panel when I made that decision, so I just had to redo my card base.

I'm off to go feed the kiddo his morning Cheerios.  Have a great day, peeps!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Take a Sip, A Nice Cuppa
Ink:  Soft Sky, Tranquil Tide, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand
Paper:  Soft Sky, Tranquil Tide, Thick Whisper White
Accessories:  Dimensionals, Tranquil Tide ribbon

It's Always Tea Time

Mornin' y'all!  We're going a bit retro for today's card because of this challenge from the Paper Players:

As I said on yesterday's Tea Party pages, I have several tea-related stamp sets.  None of them are current, so I dusted off an old favorite for this card:

That's A Nice Cuppa, which was in the Occasions Catalog a few years ago.  I think this one might be my favorite of all my tea stamps :). I also pulled out the matching Have a Cuppa DSP stack to go with the Global Design Project color challenge:

The paper already had Melon Mambo and Pool Party in it, so I just had to incorporate some Lemon Lime Twist, which I did with the card base and a snippet of LLT ribbon hoarded from the Lots of Happy card kit.

You know what?  I think I'll go make myself a cuppa right now...cheers!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  A Nice Cuppa (retired)
Ink:  Pool Party, Melon Mambo

Green Tea

Hello again, everyone!  How's your week going?  We are once again up to our eyeballs in rain.  I'm heartily tired of it.

Yesterday I shared a card using a soon-to-retire stamp set, and today I'm doing the same.  Please join me in wishing A Nice Cuppa and Summer Silhouettes a fond farewell.

I was going for green tea leaves kinda on the left panel; I think they turned out just a little too subtle but if I hadn't stamped off then it would have been way too harsh for what I wanted.  No good answer there so I'm just moving forward.  My color combo is unintentionally close to yesterday's too, except for adding Flirty Flamingo instead of Tip Top Taupe.  Honestly I wanted to do Mint Macaron and Flirty Flamingo together, so I looked for a third color that would compliment them and decided on Dapper Denim, only realizing when I was finished that yesterday's card and today's look kinda similar.  Oh well.

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch:

And that is all she wrote today.  Cheers, y'all!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  A Nice Cuppa, Summer Silhouettes
Ink:  Dapper Denim, Mint Macaron
Paper:  Thick Whisper White, Dapper Denim, Mint Macaron, Flirty Flamingo
Accessories:  Cups & Kettle Framelits, I forget what the white stripey ribbon is called, organza?, Dimensionals

A-Team Baby Book: Baby Shower

Happy Saturday!  Let's get all pink and girly.

I usually don't do a layout for a baby shower in the baby books I make, but I couldn't resist the idea this time (probably a little bit because I was one of the shower hostesses).  I used the Birthday Bouquet paper for the shower invitations and some of the decorations, so that's what I used for this too.

The theme of the shower was Cinderella, and there is a LOT of tea in that movie, so we had tea and lots of teacups and of course I had to use A Nice Cuppa for this layout.  And Daydream Medallions (now retired) looks pretty great to frame the teacup if I can pat myself on the back a little bit.

I used a marker to only ink up the word Tea-riffic, the whole stamp says "You Are Tea-Riffic".  And the heart is another stamp.

The Birthday Bouquet DSP-inspired color palette:  Pool Party, Blushing Bride, Mossy Meadow, and Whisper White.

Cheers, y'all!

Supplies:
Stamps:  A Nice Cuppa, Daydream Medallions
Ink:  Pool Party, Blushing Bride
Paper:  Pool Party, Blushing Bride, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, Birthday Bouquet DSP

Hey look, it's a cuppa tea!  My card today is inspired by the Global Design Project color challenge:

I also used the Freshly Made Sketch that just came out today:

And that's all she wrote today.  Cheers, y'all!

Nacho Blog Hop: A Nice Cuppa

Morning!  How was your Valentine's Day?  That's also my hubs' birthday but all he wanted to do was stay home and play video games, so we did.  And I got some scrapping and card making done and I watched Stardust which is like the perfect Valentine's Day movie, I love it so.  But anyway, you're here for the Nacho Average Challenges blog hop! This month we're sharing projects using fun new schtuff from the Occasions catalog, and my stamp set is A Nice Cuppa.  Because tea.  Of course!

I stamped the main image in Island Indigo ink just because I hadn't worked with it in a long time and then I couldn't figure out what to use with it.  I mean NOTHING.  I think my cold was interfering with my brain's crafty skillz, but finally I ended up with some paper from the Love Blooms stack and the cool stain stamp from Timeless Textures.  I wish I'd used some colored ribbon or twine but I have almost nothing current in that department.

I find this card a little bit...lacking.  I'm blaming last week's cold and moving on.

This one I think is a little bit cuter.  All the stamps are from A Nice Cuppa.

For the next card, a little background before you peek:  I wondered how it would look if I stamped the teacup stack from the first card on patterned paper and then clear embossed it, so I gave it a try.

This actually turned out cooler than I thought it would.  I used some Perfectly Artistic DSP (today is the last day to get that!) and the embossing powder didn't stick on everything in the center of the image, so it gave it a bit of a grungy look.  I decided to go with the grunge and stamped the card base with a variety of stamps from Timeless Textures and this is my favorite card from the whole set.  The ribbon is retired, but I think it's the only Marina Mist ribbon I have...I have almost nothing current, but an entire laundry basket full of retired ribbon :p

So there's my set of cards with A Nice Cuppa, I hope you love this stamp set as much as I do.  You'll be seeing it around here several more times at least :)  And now it's time for you to continue the hop!  Your next destination is Heather's blog for some fun projects with Balloon Celebration.  Here are all the links in the hop if you need them:

Always Time for Tea

Ya know, I love getting new stamps :)  And I love tea.  So getting new tea stamps is even better :D  I couldn't resist doing another card with A Nice Cuppa, and I kinda think it's going to live on my craft table for a while.

Ya gotta love that stack of teacups!  I got my color combo today from ColourQ:

And the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I kinda did a mirror image for my card because I liked the teacup stack on the right, but it looked out of balance with the short piece up top on the right as well.  And then I needed something Pool Party near the bottom of the card, so I added a few Candy Dots; I don't usually do the "scatter" effect but I kinda like it on here.  The wee heart at the top and the tiny tag hanging off the bottom teacup are both popped up with pieces of Dimensionals.

Anyway, that's it for me today, peeps!  Have a fantastic day...Imma start mine with a nice cuppa tea :)

Teariffic New Year

Howdy, folks!  I'm back with the first card of the new year, and we're starting off with one of my favorite things:  TEA!

There's a new stamp set called A Nice Cuppa PLUS matching Framelits in the new Occasions catalog, which starts today.  I used the Framelits to cut out my teacup, and the heart and sentiment stamps are from A Nice Cuppa.  The patterned paper is new too, it's a 6x6 stack called Love Blossoms, and it just happens to be the perfect match for this week's Global Design Project color challenge:

I also used a slightly altered version of the Create with Connie & Mary sketch:

I made mine a standard A2 size card, and I left off the thin element (which to me says ribbon) because I thought it would be just one thing too many with all the patterns I already had going.  Besides, Coco Chanel says you should take a look in the mirror before you leave the house, and take one thing off.  And Coco Chanel knows from elegance, which is this week's Cupcake Inspirations Challenge:

So there you have it!  I've got a busy day ahead, peeps; an old friend is coming for dinner so I have to do some cleaning and a lot of baking.  I'm making homemade rolls for dinner tonight plus something for dessert.  And dinner, obviously.  Cheers, peeps!
