Scrappy Monday, y'all! I'm back with more pages from my 30th birthday. I've started thinking about a layout for my 40th birthday but I need to get some pictures printed for it :D
Bright sunny colors today! I pulled out some Summer Sun cardstock for these two layouts, and Good Morning Sunshine DSP. What do you think?
Alas, poor Elmo. He dead. But it was fun to use the Calling All Heroes stamp set to make my Batman-esque words on the right!
Today's color palette is mostly the same colors as last week's, just switching out where I used them: Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Real Red, Cameo Coral, Basic Black, and Whisper White.
I got some good work done in my craft room yesterday--I'm now up to 72 pages done for 2020! Pretty amazing considering it's the beginning of March :D
Cheers, y'all!

Going Down (Mount Fuji)
Scrappy Monday, y'all. I worked on a scrapbook layout over the weekend that I wanted to share today, but I haven't gotten the journaling done on it yet so instead I'm sharing the last of the Mount Fuji pages (see the other three layouts here, here, and here).
So there it is, our return trip down the dread mountain. I've never been a big fan of Bravo Burgundy, but to my everlasting surprise it really, really worked for these pictures...click the photo above to see it bigger and look at the red tones in the landscape pictures. Anyway, when I got out my very dusty Bravo Burgundy ink pad for this layout, I opened it up and found...
The Dreaded Gold Sheen. This is an older felt-style ink pad; I've also had gold sheen on Raspberry Ripple and Riding Hood Red, and I think my one-year-old Cherry Cobbler has a slight case of it too. For some reason it usually affects the reds. Anyway, I'm not really sure how to get rid of it, and I heard that it could be contagious (like, if you ink up a stamp with a gold sheen ink pad, and then clean it on your stampin' scrub, the gold sheen sits on that and could theoretically infect other ink pads if you clean a stamp and then immediately ink it up with another color). So anyway, I made my layout work without Bravo Burgundy ink (though I suppose I could have used a BB marker).
Title banner in Garden Green and Early Espresso. I love the Jayne's Type Alphabet.
My final Fuji color palette: Bravo Burgundy, So Saffron, Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Tip Top Taupe, and Early Espresso. Who knew I'd use Bravo Burgundy on a scrapbook layout and like it?
Well, I think I'll try to take my doglets for a walk for the first time since Snowmageddon. Sadie may explode with joy, so wish me luck...cheers, y'all!
Supplies, all SU!
Stamps: Jayne's Type, Calendar Alphabet & Numbers, Calling All Heroes
Ink: Garden Green, Early Espresso
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Garden Green, Tip Top Taupe, Wild Wasabi DSP, Haiku DSP
Accessories: None

2015 Scrapbook Showcase, Part 1
So the card showcase is already up, let's take a look back at the year's scrapbook layouts! I'm very proud to say I made a whopping 154 scrapbook pages this year, not counting the ones I did for baby books. I have enough draft scrapbook posts to do Scrappy Mondays through June. So let's take a look, shall we?
January's pick is this hot layout from Greece. It's funny, I don't really do a lot of pages with red or orange page bases, but half of my showcase picks feature just that. Anyway, I love the Tangelo Twist base on this page because it reminds me how stinkin' hot it was in Olympia that day.
February's pick is this hot pink layout from our last days in Okinawa. I need more Melon Mambo in my life.
My pick for March is this birthday layout, and that baby girl is now six. Even more exciting is that my friend Tiana will be here in just a few days!!!
I just couldn't choose only one layout for April, so the first April pick is this comic-inspired layout from when my family accidentally got involved in a drug bust in London. They seriously love telling that story, and props to Mom for taking the pictures of it so I could make this layout.
My second April pick is this layout from China, and is the genesis for a longstanding joke between me and the hubs and our friends. I'm not in love with my fried egg embellishments on here, but I love the golden arches and the story behind this one.
For May's pick, I went with a Melon Mambo layout once again and these gorgeous pictures from Santorini, Greece. This was the very first time I used Tip Top Taupe too.
And to cap off the first half of the scrapbook showcase, June's pick is from that same cruise and the island of Capri. I think I've already scrapped about half of that cruise and I love looking at all the pictures (and I seriously want to go back to Greece).
Happy New Year, y'all! Next week's Scrappy Monday will be the second half of the scrapbook showcase, and then we'll get the new year started with some new stampy projects. Cheers!

Awesome Superhero
You know what? I love superhero movies. So of course I had to get Calling All Heroes when it was released, even though I haven't used it much. Had to dust it off for today's card.
I have some trouble with photopolymer stamps and the new firm foam ink pads sometimes; my pads are still relatively new and really, really extra juicy which sometimes makes for uneven edges on the solid stamps like this. I wish I'd used the retired Starburst Framelits for behind my superhero instead of a plain circle, but I didn't think of it until I already had the Dimensionals on the regular circle so it is what it is.
I used the current sketch from Freshly Made:
And this superfantastic color combo from the Color Throwdown:
Love those colors! That's it for me today, peeps. I've got several things I want to do today so I'd better get a move on. Cheers, y'all!
Supplies, all SU!
Stamps: Calling All Heroes, Flower Patch
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Blushing Bride, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Accessories: Banners & Circles Framelits, 1 3/4" circle punch, Dimensionals

Totally Busted
I love to participate in card challenges, which I'm sure you've figured out if you've spent any amount of time here at Snapdragon Stamps. When it comes to scrapbooking, though, I prefer to just do my own thing and not try to fit my photos into challenges. My scrappy muse is temperamental. Every once in a while, though, a challenge just speaks to me, like this one from Cupcake Inspirations:
I have the perfect set of photos for a comic book scrapbook layout, so I set to work.
The pictures are from when my family came out to visit us and this was their last day in London; they got involved in an undercover police operation and helped subdue some dude who was high as a kite after he ran from the po-po and crashed into Laura. You can read the whole story here or maybe if you click on the photo it might be big enough to read on the layout. The border on the left page was cut off some patterned paper I bought, and the red mat on the left page is part of the piece that the Avengers came out of on the right page.
My color palette, and I think this might be the first time EVER that I've used Yoyo Yellow! What's funny is I'd picked out these four colors, then went to the craft store to find some appropriate comic book paper. Is it bad that I ignored the four sheets of Superman paper I had in my stash to go find something with the Avengers on it? I'm more a Marvel girl than DC, though DC does have Wonder Woman and I love her. Not that I read many comic books anymore, but I'm a huge fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC just hasn't done that great with Superman lately, and they haven't done anything with Wonder Woman yet, so Marvel is where it's at for my money. Anyway, I picked out these colors, then went out shopping, and happily for me the colors worked with the paper I brought home. Yay!
That's it for me today, peeps. Have a great day...Pow!
Supplies, mostly SU!
Stamps: Well-Worn Alphabet, Calling All Heroes
Ink: Poppy Parade, Island Indigo, Basic Black marker
Paper: Yoyo Yellow, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Marvel's Avengers paper from Sandylion
Accessories: None

Nachos: Unlimited Awesomeness
Eeek! I forgot to set up this post before I went to bed last night so I'm a teensy bit late. But I'm here now with an awesome Nacho Average Color Challenge!
I think I might have been the one to suggest this particular combo, I've already used it a couple of times. But for today's card I wanted to do something different than fall or Halloween, so...
How about superheroes!! I love the photopolymer set Calling All Heroes; I had to order it just as soon as it was released but this is the first time I've played with it. And I figured my superheroine and city skyline went perfectly with the awesomeness stamp from Big News! Hmm, you know what I just noticed though? I did the bright red hair and green mask so now my superheroine looks like Poison Ivy from Batman instead of someone else like Batgirl. Ever notice how there's a LOT more redheads in books and movies and comics than there are in real life?
Anyway, go check out the other pretties at the Nacho blog and then try out this awesome color combo for yourself. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Supplies, all SU!
Stamps: Calling All Heroes, Big News
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist, Raspberry Ripple
Paper: Smoky Slate, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White
Accessories: Apothecary Accents Framelits, Itty Bitty Accents punch pack (star), Dimensionals
