Cocok's Toes 2010

Scrappy Monday, y'all!  Today's scrapbook layout is the very LAST of the Cocok's toe photos from when we lived in Japan, so if you're foot averse then that's good news for you :D

I always took photos of my friends' toes as well as my own when we got our super fancy pedicures, so the white circles have the initial of whichever friend those toes belong to (all the toes pointing upwards are mine, because that's how my toes look when I look down, heh).

These were all the toe photos for 2010 minus what I had on the Last Call at Cocok's layout.  Also, I'm glad I bought the Number of Years stamp set and matching Framelits, I've been using those and the coordinating (and still current) Letters for You alphabet pretty regularly since I bought them.

This was another layout that I did when I was on my Barely Banana streak, but this time I didn't pair it with Poppy Parade.  Today's color palette includes Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, Cool Caribbean, Lavender Lace (looks funky in that palette picture), and Whisper White.  That Petals & Paisleys DSP (the Cool Caribbean polka dot strip) is one of the earliest DSP packs I ever bought from SU!  Actually a lot of things I used on this layout are pretty old, like the Simply Said stamp set.  This is why I hold onto stuff though, never know when it will turn out to be just the thing for a scrapbook layout.

I'm going to go tackle the mountain of leftover waffles from yesterday (I'm sure you feel sorry for me, haha!) and then tiny child and I are going to the gym.  Hopefully he won't lose his marbles like he did on Saturday; I didn't get to do yoga because I had to come get him when he wouldn't stop crying.  So here's hoping today is better.  Cheers!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Number of Years, Sweet Shoppe Alphabet Upper & Lower, Beautiful Peacock, Simply Said
Ink:  Pretty in Pink, Cool Caribbean, Lavender Lace
Paper:  Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, Cool Caribbean, Petals & Paisleys DSP, Berry Bliss DSP
Accessories:  Large Numbers Framelits

Friday Flashback: Holidays & Wishes

Happy Friday, friends!  So the hubs and I saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens last night, and despite my best efforts I had to blink at least a half a dozen times during the movie so we're going back tonight so I can catch anything I missed the first time around ;)  But you're here for the Friday Flashback!  Right?  Right!  Today's retired stamp set is Holidays & Wishes, so here we go!

Also features Lovely as a Tree, Bella Toile

I love greens and blues together, I think they make a nice sympathy card when you use more subdued tones.

Also features Heartfelt Thanks, Paisley
Playing with Heartfelt Thanks and inchies.  Also, I miss Almost Amethyst and all the other purples :(

Also features Snow Burst
This was before I learned how to tie pretty knots, but otherwise I like this one.  It's shimmery white cardstock for a bit of shine.

Also features Simply Said, Kindness jumbo wheel

And there's a pink and purple Valentine...

Also features Scandinavian Season

And a Scandinavian Christmas tree.

Also features Lovely as a Tree, French Script

One more sympathy card, and now it's time for today's new creation!  Spoiler alert, it has blue and green on it, but it's not subdued for a sympathy card and it might be one of my favorite cards this year.  Take a look:

I just had to use Joyful Christmas again because that flower is so pretty.  And I was inspired by these colorful poinsettias at my local grocery store:

They have glitter on them in addition to being a wonderful shade of royal blue.  Aren't they pretty?

I also used this week's Pals Paper Arts sketch:

And this week's Color Throwdown is a free-for-all Christmas challenge:

I used Garden Green, Pacific Point, and Blackberry Bliss, and I think I love that combination.  The poinsettia was inked with Versamark, then Blackberry Bliss, and I used Iridescent Ice embossing powder plus it's stamped on shimmery white cardstock.  For the leaves, I just stamped them in Garden Green, so they ran a little bit when I watercolored them.  I waited until the water dried and then used the fine tip of my Garden Green marker to go over the lines again, and I like how that worked out for me.

Anyway, I've got to get moving.  Have a great weekend, peeps, and if you haven't seen the new Star Wars movie yet I won't spoil any plot points for you.  May the Force be with you!

Supplies, last card only:
Stamps:  Holidays & Wishes, Joyful Christmas
Ink:  Versamark, Pacific Point, Garden Green, Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry
Paper:  Pacific Point, Garden Green, Blackberry Bliss, Shimmery White
Accessories:  Iridescent Ice EP, rhinestones, Decorative Label punch, Ovals Framelits, Dimensionals

Friday Flashback: Blooming With Happiness

Well, I got distracted with a book today so here it is very nearly 7 p.m. and I'm just now writing the Friday Flashback!  But anyway, today's stamp set is Blooming with Happiness, so let's go get springy!

Also features Simply Said

Even when I first made this card, I didn't think I'd gotten the color balance right on it.  This is my least favorite card for today's post :(  Not every card can be your favorite!

Also features Simply Said and Happy Harmony
Here's a baby shower card, the umbrella is from Blooming with Happiness but the small flowers on the card front are from Simply Said, which I used with Blooming with Happiness a LOT.

Also features Simply Said
I love that dress image, I used craft ink here and heat embossed the image before I colored with markers.  And then there's my favorite polished stone background, along with some more heat embossed flowers.

Also features...you guessed it...Simply Said
Then I had to try it in a few different colors.

Simply Said on this one too
This one is my least favorite of the three, but I don't know if I like the red or the purple one better.

So anyway, besides the umbrella and the dress, there's another main image in Blooming with Happiness and I just had to use it for today's new card:

No Simply Said on this one!

The cake and the candles are two separate stamps, so I suppose it could be a wedding cake or a birthday cake as your little heart desires.  The colors are courtesy of the challenge at Colour Me...!

And the sketch is a slightly tweaked version of the Mojo Monday sketch:

Well, it's date night, and I think I've made the hubs wait for dinner for far too long.  Cheers, peeps!
