Work It, Witch

Mornin' y'all!  Ryan's school is having a dress as your favorite character day so he decided to wear his Iron Man costume to school today (and he plans to wear it to school again tomorrow).  This is the conversation we had this morning as we were getting ready to head out the door:

Ryan:  You know, Iron Man doesn't have to go to school...
Me:  Sure he did.  Where do you think he learned the skills he needed to build his suit?
Ryan:  They're not teaching ME that stuff at school.
Me:  You have to learn the basics before moving on to advanced mechanical engineering, kid.

Nice try getting out of school, but it didn't work.  Anyway, I'm back with a fun Halloween card today.  I know it's too late to send anymore out this year but I'm working on a stash for next year.  Here's my fun witch:

I used the most excellent sketch from the Paper Players:

And it's still spooky season for two more days so I'm entering this at Inkspirational:

And finally, I just had to use a witchy stamp for the Cupcake Inspirations color challenge:

I used Lemon Lime Twist (kind of edging into Granny Apple Green), Gorgeous Grape, and Basic Black for my colors.  I had lots of fun putting this one together : )

We all went out last night to look at shower tile AGAIN and the hubs and I managed to choose tiles that both of us are very happy with, so I'm calling that a win.  And I'm crossing all my fingers and toes that we'll have a functional shower before Thanksgiving.  Wish us luck!

Have a great day, peeps.  Um, I might need to watch Hocus Pocus again today : )

If You've Got It...

When I was a kid, I read a book called The Wednesday Witch by Ruth Chew.  She flew on a vacuum cleaner before the Sanderson Sisters ever thought of it : )  Today is Wednesday and my card features a witch, but no vacuum cleaner in sight.

Hadn't used this witch from Best Witches yet so here's her time to shine.  (Why, yes, I am having All The Fun making Halloween cards!)  Check out the Festive Friday challenge:

I used a witch, pumpkins, orange (her hair), stars, black, and ghosts.  I just can't get away from purple and green for witchy cards : )  I actually made this before yesterday's anniversary card, but since I managed to squeak that one out in time to post yesterday, I had to post it ON our anniversary.  Hence the Wednesday Witch.

Have a great day, y'all!

A Bespelled Frog for SUO Challenges

Hey hey, happy Taco Tuesday!  And it's also SUO Challenges day!  Check out our spiffy new badge:

And our theme this time around is Halloween!  I couldn't resist using Best Witches again...

I had stamped and die cut both of those pieces while I was working on my Paper Players card for this week, and I had intended to use them on different cards, but then I thought Judgy Frog was totally giving Sabrina the side-eye and I had to put them together on my card front.  The star accents are from last year and somehow I never used them until now.  Honestly I made this card and my Paper Players card weeks apart but apparently I just really liked that color combination, I wasn't *trying* to make my cards so similar.  But somehow I used the Paper Players colors again:

This time I used Gorgeous Grape, Parakeet Party, and both Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie (last time it was Highland Heather, Parakeet Party, and Pumpkin Pie...so, totally different right?  No?).

Hope you'll have fun making a Halloween card to share at the SUO Challenges blog.  Cheers!

Best Witches for the Paper Players

Happy Sunday, y'all!  It's October (my favorite), the weather is getting cooler, the leaves are changing colors, there's a new Hocus Pocus movie to enjoy, and a wicked color combination this way comes courtesy of the Paper Players!

Laurie came up with this most excellent witchy color combination, so I had to make a witchy card to go with!

I have *lots* of Halloween stamp sets but it didn't even slow me down from getting Best Witches and Scary Cute from this year's holiday catalog.  Can't help it : )  I also got the glitter washi tape which is helpfully in our challenge colors and I forgot to use it!

But check out the inside of my card:

Judgy frog is judging you.  He cracks me up!  This card is already on its way to its destination, if it's not there already.  Whether or not you're inspired to make a Halloween card, I hope you'll hop on over to the Paper Players blog and play along with us!
